Where: Training Gym
When: Horseshoe 3
What: Red Team's first meeting. Time to bond, everyone. Everything mentioned is a prompt, go wild.
Warnings: Probably some swearing and mention of violence; will keep updated.
Gathering
- The call goes out the morning of day 3 of Horseshoe, just Lightning leaning over the ICP in 1-A, in a clean uniform, hair still damp from the shower.
"Since team meetings are something we’re doing now… If you’re with Red, or you’re thinking of coming with Red on the next mission, meet up in the training gym after breakfast. We need to go over some shit, get you all on the same page."
She, Tony and Fëanor will check in at breakfast, nudging people they know or approaching those they don’t, and then head to the gym car after cleanup.
Assessment
- "Right, first things first. Knowing what each of us is capable of."
They don’t ask this of everyone, but knowing what other people can do is pretty key when they’ve never had a non-combat mission. So after the spiels, Lightning moves over to the side, and calls Odin in a spiralling array of pink magic. The knightly mech, barely fitting with the height of the room, takes a stance, tower shield and double-blade ready, and goes still.
"You," she says, indicating someone. "How would you take him out?"
(She might have to add, bemused, "Without wrecking the car," depending on how physical their response is.)
Meeting Proper
- She indicates a stack of mission leaflets that they printed out that morning.
"If you've not looked at these yet, take one, read it at some point in the next few days. Three of us have been here since the beginning. Stark," a nod, towards the bearded man sat next to her, "the kid," another nod, towards the nameless eleven-year-old girl, "and me. Some of you have been here almost as long. If you wanna know details, someone's gonna know the answer."
She shrugs. "Still, I bet you can think of things we could've done better, so... share your ideas. Show off. We're never gonna turn down more options in a fight, because we always get a fight."
There's a pause, perhaps, for discussion, before she gestures for silence again.
"So we've got a team that always gets thrown into the thick of it. We've been through portals, sent into space, set to hunt a guy down through a blizzard... we need firepower, and we need the supplies to get us there. And... to keep us there, because we're not always somewhere that's easy to just leave when it gets too hot."
She holds up an arms band. "You hopefully recognise this from Roland's speech. We have two for Red team. They store as much stuff as you want, but only six weapons and two firearms between the two of them, so if you have a gun, or something else that needs ammunition, you get priority on carrying one... because whatever firearm's stored in there gets infinite ammo." She taps the band on her wrist, and a steel pipe shimmers out of the ether. Another tap, and it disappears. "If you don't wanna keep the inventory, that's fine, just make sure you find someone who will."
Most of the supply talk has been covered by Roland already, so she doesn't rehash anything. After another pause for talk, she clears her throat.
"Final thing. We're low on weapons, we're low on offensive magic. Tech, too. Last mission was almost a disaster. What we wanna know is this: what would it take to get you up to your normal firepower? What's it take to keep you in a fight? And how do we get it?"
Mingle
- After that, there's an, "Any other business?", and afterwards they sit back and open the floor for mingling. Or for departure, if you so desire.

Xue Yang | OTA - Mingle
Without spirits on the train to control he can't offer up any sort of offensive against those with magic. And without a weapon, which he is probably not particularly trusted with at this point, he can only do things hand to hand. But seeing how he is not particularly big or overlly strong, he knows he wouldn't stand a chance in that kind of combat. He doesn't ever consider himself weak but he is smart enough to know when to not start something he can't come out on top of.
And so he just watches for now, recognizing some of the faces of the team from their previous missions. If someone approaches he will certainly respond to them but he knows there are still some that would rather he wasn't anywhere near them.

"No ideas about your abilities?"
no subject
No spirits, no weapons. And he has never known how to be a team player. He is at a disadvantage and usually he can figure his way out of most things, deception has always been one of his strong points. But there hasn't been much use for that lately either.
"And I don't think many are willing to put a weapon in my hands."

She would expect him to, but also he was strange. So he might have decided not to.
"You should be asking for a weapon, be seeing if anyone do be having on to be lending you." Because he had not had one last time, he had told her a bit of his skills but they didn't seem that useful, he was a fighter though. With a weapon he could do much.
no subject
Not that he goes around killing people just to kill them. He isn't so cold blooded. But that isn't exactly something he can say and expect people to believe.
"I'd be more likely to be given a ball like you were practicing with before."

Natsuno Yuuki/Koide | OTA
Natsuno was the type of person who'd needed to be prodded to come. The thing was, he wasn't the kind of person who did things like 'teamwork'.
Aside from that, as he watched the demonstration, and the questions surrounding assessing skills, he glanced aside.
"I'm not really a fighter." He answered, looking a little sullen. He'd been keeping his nature to himself. "I don't need any supplies, probably." He personally needed one thing to bring out his potential, but he could grab it from the kitchen before leaving.
Mingle
He was sitting off to the side, watching everyone else mingle, and not intending on getting involved. In fact, he was considering just leaving, but he wanted to get a read on everyone there.
It was possible that he looked a little pale to people, but otherwise he seemed like a perfectly, ordinary teenage boy, if one didn't look too closely.
assessment
If he was just being awkward, then they'd probably have to deal with it later. But if he didn't want to fight, why bother forcing it? An unwilling combatant was just a liability.

-Fightin' demonstration-
The angel regarded Odin thoughtfully for a moment. "It depends. I know a variety of martial arts suitable against beings of this size, depending on if I want to disable it without significant harm or obliterate it entirely. Then there might be further modifications to my strategy depending on how it moves, what it's intentions seem to be, and how much collateral damage I can afford to cause."
He looked back at Lightning. "But ultimately, I think it's safe to say it would boil down to some variation on a direct application of physical violence. Just based on what I'm seeing here, I think I would win, too, if I may be immodest for a moment. There is no better way to judge a foe's TRUE capabilities than to actually face them in battle, however."
-Meeting-
Vigilant gaze read the pamphlet from cover to cover, and while he didn't really have a face that one could read the expressions of, per se, he seemed to get a sort of uneasy aura about him.
"Would I be correct in saying that we are not acting in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Void Ministry, and are in fact some manner of outlaw?"

Samata stared at the giant robot uneasily. It looked more like a golem than anything else she could think of from home, and golems were, supposedly, undefeatable. "If it caught me unprepared, I wouldn't. I would run for my life without shame. If I had time to pick a battlefield of my choosing and make as many preparations as needed, I MIGHT be able to do something to it, but it's so big I don't think there's really anything I could do to it that it couldn't simple overcome with raw force." There was a reason she normally went with the other teams.
-Meeting-
Samata looked vaguely uncomfortable being here. She didn't really feel like she KNEW Red Team that well, despite it being her team.
"While I'm not much of a fighter, and haven't gone with you all on most of the missions I've been present for, I do want to offer what aid I can. It's mostly logistical. I can offer training to anyone who wishes to learn how to become a wizard, and I can craft magic items. I made Garrett a flying carpet."

i. assessment
[Enna pauses, looking up at Odin. She squints, seeming to be looking for weaknesses, and then she pauses... And turns to Lightning.]
I'd take you out instead, I think. Caw.
2. meeting
[Once again, Enna is content to listen for the most part, right up until Lightning asks the questions that matter most.]
I can sail ships, and I'm good with knives, but... At home, I'm more powerful than here. I could do basically anything there, but I don't have any of the stuff I need for it here. I could make water or fire for missions, or arrows to hunt for food, or fly or bring chariots, and I could be strong enough to hold up the sky, and I could punch people with a mountain if I really had to.
So... Cawww. I guess what I really need is points. To bring the Stars here so I can use their powers. A whole lot of points.

[He has been staying small, staying out of the way. He has no skills that are useful here, nothing to contribute to this team.
There's a faint smell of blood in the carriage, nothing terrible, just the result of many people like this in one place, but it is enough to make him uneasy.]

47 | OTA
It was sort of a no brainer that he would volunteer for one of the arms band. He also wasn't going to fight over being one of the two that carried them for Red Team as a whole though. But he was always with Red Team and he had been around for a while now. Plus, he knew how to take care of things and generally had an idea of what was needed.
He didn't share the fact that he would still continue to carrying his own supplies just in case. It never hurt to be prepared. And he didn't really trust magic all that much. Would he use it to his advantage? Absolutely. Would he count on it? No, no more than anything else fleeting in life. It never hurt to keep one's options open.
He could offer other information, too, if asked directly. There were plenty of good ideas here. It was simply the implementing them part that could pose the most trouble. Like how to procure certain items the train wasn't so willing to supply. But he could help create things if materials were supplied. Like his explosives and flashbangs.
II. Mingle
Train life: it felt like half the time it meant mingling with others for no other reason than because they were all gathered in one spot. Today wasn't much different, was it.
It wasn't 47's favorite part of the job but he could blend in perfectly when he wanted to. Here was no exception. He stayed in the meeting till the end because it was the responsible thing to do and he wanted to make sure he didn't miss any information that was shared or plans that were incorporated while this was going on.
It wasn't that hard to stand around and act useful. He did it all the time. Besides, this gym was one of the places he would normally be about now anyway. Train life.
meeting
Which, she hoped, would be mitigated by whatever bullshit was linking him to her.
Speaking of which, she turned to look at him during a lull in the supplies discussion, eyebrow raised at a flicker of... what? She wasn't sure, it just felt like he had something to say. "Anything to add?"

EMPORIO | yes he's in orange he will explain | OTA
[1]
Emporio is going to be decidedly out of place at this meeting. Perhaps if he was wearing red it wouldn't be entirely out of place, since there is someone his age here. But, here he is, reading a leaflet while sitting wherever the set up of the training gym allows. Depending on his mood, it's like he isn't even there at all. ...Though he is paying attention. Perhaps better than some others are even.
Except, well, he's wearing bright orange, even if the hat is a dark black. Occasionally, something seems to threaten to appear behind him to do the staring for him. As it is.
What. Is he. Doing here.
(Truthfully he has no idea if he'll hop along with Red or not- in a strange way it depends entirely on what someone Else from his world picks. He wants to think he'll go for the logical option, but something about the guy just gives him some concerns. So here he is, absorbing the information Just In Case.)
[2]
"Eh-?"
Emporio was paying attention, truly, but there's still something catching him off guard.
Specifically, the demonstration challenge.
"Ummm...." Hmm. "...."
"Does it have to breathe?" He cranes his neck around from the spot, squinting at the mech.
That's not a concerning question at all right? Right?
[3]
I
Sure Lightning had mentioned asking others who might join red missions to be here, but that would be... competent people. Nothing she has seen from this boy so far seems something like that.
Maybe Lightning has seen something more. She had seen they were in the same room, so she would know better than her.
"You do no be being red, Emporio."

Sonya blade | OTA
Sonya looked through one of the leaflets. She was wondering how and why the teams were coordinated, but looking through the information provided, it now made sense. They were all spec-ops teams in their own sense, but how she understood why she and Cassie were on their respective colors.
She spent the rest of the meeting listening to the young woman, before speaking her peace. "Cassandra Cage on team purple is working to make simple firearms, like a sten or liberator pistol. They won't be as powerful as modern rifles, but they're easy to travel with and can be put together quick enough if we have the supplies."
She held up her left arm, showing the metalic bracer. "This was part of a pair, but one will suffice. It relies on energy shots rather than ammunition, and can be powered either via solar or artificial light. At a distance, its blasts will stun, close up it's possible to blast right through a living-or non living target."
And the fact that it's lasted this long was testament to its construction. "If I can find a box of parts, I could try to replicate enough for other team members."
She had a feeling the sten would be easier. "As for rest, I'm part of Special Operations back home, this is how I earn a pay check. I only took a place at the orange team for doctors' orders."
So to speak; her duties were now above 'just earning a paycheck', but that was besides the point.
Mingle
She said her peace, now she was listening to everyone else. If they were this low on supplies, the only way they'd make any headway on missions was collaboration.
meeting
"There anything in Stark's workshop you can use?" was her first question, followed by, "If you and Cassandra get a list together, might be we can buy enough to get you both started."
