Nita's able to bounce back from the mission much more easily than last time - no huge magics, just the slow drain of wizardry and losing people alike.

There are some people she knows she needs to talk to, but she doesn't precisely need to hunt them down - after all, she's got rooms to clean. She'll get to them eventually.

She has time for more friendly chats, as well - or a helping hand or two!

"That, we should probably have a Council meeting for. See if the rest are on-board for it."

If there was a majority interest, then maybe...

"We haven't confronted those shadows again, either; we still need some way to pool information and opinions if that happens."

Dairine had done her part to help with that, as had Eva.

"It's hard to get my tech running without spare parts, but I'm still working at it. And...right, I'll have to ask them."

Kaiba tidies the place to his satisfaction, then gives her an empathetic look.

"We'll arrange whatever we can, to plan for all of our eventual departures. Not pleasant to think about, but the train leaves us little choice."

"Depends on if we end up on a world like that space mission any time soon, I'll bet... but maybe we'll have enough points this month for raw metal to shape, or Piccolo can help."

Or Ronan, but Nita didn't know him as well, despite the boy being on their team!

"... Yeah."

Nita, finishing with her own half of the room, sighs.

"Would you say we're all being railroaded, then? Even the train."

Forgive her for the pun, Kaiba; she IS being serious here.

"No jumping the tracks yet," he agrees with the tiniest of smirks. "As much as I'd like to give certain people a piece of me."

But he moves to stand next to her, his tone noticeably softer. "And we haven't lost everyone yet. Keep that in mind."

"I know the feeling," Nita says, rather emphatically.

"..." Falling silent again, she puts some of her equipment away as well - then:

"Thank you, Kaiba. I needed to hear that."

Her shoulders relax a little, too. A load lifted.

It's weighing on all of them. The least he can do is keep the group moving. But as Kaiba watches her, an odd thought pops into his head.

Should he...?

As they move to leave the room, he drops a hand on her shoulder and squeezes gently. That was what people did in this situation, right?

"You need any more help, call me."

And Kaiba is rewarded with - not surprise.

Nita would never say she'd been surprised. But her eyes widen, and then she smiles.

"I will. And you can do the same, Kaiba."
