Two Detectives on a Train....
Who: Conan and Sera
What: Catching Up
When: Morning, Horseshoe 13
Where: On the way to the LIbrary Car
For once, the mission hadn't ended in injuries or drama. There hadn't even been any murders.
So Conan settles back into life on the train easily. Although not without a heightened sense of paranoia due to a certain familiar face.
Today he had finally gotten around to gathering up his collection of mystery novels. The mystery section in the new library was nearly empty, and it was time to fix that. He carefully navigates his way through the train cars with a tall stack of books balanced in his arms.

“You need some help with those? That’s a lot of books to carry for one person.”
no subject
If you want! I'm taking these over to the library car.

“This is a lot of books here. Did you order all of these in?”
[She wouldn’t put it past him to do that.]

After regaining a few of his more useful tools, he'd spent all of his points on books.
no subject
[Might want to keep that in mind for next time, then!
But that aside, Masumi still has an ulterior motive here, so that hasn't changed much.]
"...Some of these books look pretty advanced for a kid your age though. Did the train really randomize these for you?"
[Always worth a shot.]
no subject
That's right! Some of them were hard to read, but they were still interesting.

[If Masumi really wanted this conversation, she could just, you know, say what she meant instead of beating around the bush. But the hinting was embedded into her approach by now, unfortunately.
Deciding to just move on, she glanced back at the books she was carrying, curious about just what had been randomly picked.]
"So what did you think of the books you got? I got a weird one about a kid getting kidnapped from a void train hub when I tried ordering a book."
no subject
[ They just weren't Holmes. ]
no subject
[Something to test, perhaps? Name off a buch of books she knows exist back home to see what happens?]
“Do you think it would do that if I asked for, say, a Night Baron novel?”
[To be fair, she did genuinely like those books and wanted to see if she could get one or not.]
no subject
[ A shrug.]
The only way is to answer that is to test it.
[Conan much preferred this topic over whatever she had planned to discuss. ]
no subject
[She should have the points to do that, and even if it resulted in more weird books at least it would be something new for the library.]
"I think four books should work for this, just to get a good variety going. And I'll let you know what happens with this."
