Who: Takato, Alfredo
Where: Shop Kiosk
When: Morning, Horseshoe 16
What: New Meetings, New Friends
Takato was frowning at the shop kiosk. He'd hoped to be able to get his D-Ark back this month. But he just didn't have enough points.
"Maybe I should just get some peanut butter instead," he says aloud.

"What is it- ah, I don't believe we've met," he said, gaze shifting between the boy himself and what he was looking at. Thanks to Roland he knew what these screens were, but he didn't find himself altogether drawn to using them.
"I'm Alfredo, and why were you considering peanut butter instead?"
He also seemed a little confused by the phrase 'peanut butter' itself, but that didn't seem the most important matter here.

He sighs. "I guess it isn't that big of a deal, really. There isn't anything we need to fight now. But I was really hoping I'd be able to get my D-Arc back this month. But I'm a point short. So then I was wondering if maybe food would be a little cheaper. And peanut butter is his favorite."
no subject
"... I don't see a separate section for ordering food, so it might count as a 'Small Item' again?"
That seemed unfair!
"But, what is your D-Arc-"
Alfredo does his best not to put that in quotes.
"Supposed to do? And- who's 'he'?"

Those definitely weren't things he understood - instead, Alfredo chose to focus on the fact that the Digimon in question was Takato's friend. Because he could understand wanting to help a best friend.
"Mind if I help, then? Being able to fight like that on missions would make things go more smoothly."
Not mentioning the fact that Alfredo needs some weapons of his own... at least he knows where to get training!
"Here, let me see what's on my ticket. Maybe that'll have enough?"

He pauses, blinking at his point-number once the tickets are swapped.
"44 points... that should be enough, I think. And I'd be helping you, and also your team as a whole. Our team, really."
Because, Blue or Orange, they were on the Voidtrecker together.

Alfredo finally grins in turn. What were (new) friendships for?
"Just give me a moment- I want to be sure I'm using this right. Can you, ah, describe the 'D-Arc'?"

"... Strange writing?"
Well, if this worked, he'd see what it looked like later today.
"And a gold strap- there. Does this look like enough, Takato?"
He steps aside to let the other boy check what he's got written.
Well, typed.
no subject
"I think you got everything."
... If they find Curufin, he might be willing to help.
A moment more's tapping, and there was a confirmation message. At the next station...
However long that would take to arrive.
He turns back to Takato, smile on his face.
"Is it- may I meet your friend, Takato? Maybe we could convince someone else to get peanut butter for the train, as well."
Sounds like a plan!
Poke 'em on plurk to ask? Given I'm off the site at the moment. |D Can wrap here or use this log.
Never mind that he's a growing boy himself!"I hope that's not the case! We'd better get going. Maybe Glorfindel left some extra pastries in that carafe in- Sleeper Four, I think it was...?"

"...Maybe I should hurru." He quickly starts walking, glancing back to make sure Alfredo was following.

"Curufin? Is that you?"
Not being able to see him immediately, the boy called out upon recognizing the voice.
"He's one of the people I met when I first arrived," he explains - perhaps more to Guilmon than Takato.
Sorry for the delay!
Re: Sorry for the delay!
"Nice to meet you! I'm Takato, and this is my best friend Guilmon."

Alfredo smiles as well.
"Do you happen to know where the peanut butter is, Curufin? I... don't know if it's in one of the cupboards, or the 'fridge.'"
The admittance comes somewhat sheepishly, but it's not exactly like he's asking for help - he's asking for help for a new friend!
no subject
Takato smiles a little sheepishly. "I found some peanut butter in the cupboards earlier, but I think he ate all of that already."
Takato already had a suspicion on where all of his points in the future would be going.
no subject
He considers. "If there's none in the cupboards, I could order some. It probably won't arrive until next platform day, but better late than never!"
no subject
"Would that be all right, then? And what would be good in the meanwhile?"

He heard that word, fish. "I was going to order some fish for my friend Spark Deegan, so I could just order some for Guillon, too. And yes, Takato, you could make bread. There are a lot of people on this train who can bake, and they can help you."
no subject
It'd give him something to do with his hands, while he thought about things. Moreover, it'd still be helping a friend - possibly the whole train!

Guilmon takes an interest in the direction of the conversation."Guilmon remembers that! Terriermon got flour everywhere!"
no subject
He smiles back at Takato. "Then you'd know how to make bread already. I agree, projects like that are fun when you work on them with your friends."
He grins at Guilmon. "Oho, you were there, too. Who is Terriermon?"
