1. Kitchen, CLOSED to Wei WuXian:
[Hunger finally strikes, and even if she's been unhappy about this month's 'ingredient' it's still part of the food, which means she has to just suck it up and Deal With It. However as she walks into the car, something that doesn't offend her nose hits her. Spices? Whatever it is, Willow's stomach makes a loud growling noise, perhaps even loud enough for someone to hear if they paid enough attention to the noise.]

Ah.. that smells wonderful..

[Though as she's paying attention to the food she only just notices someone there and jumps like a spooked cat in her startle. How did she not see him?]

AAH! My apologies!! I did not notice anyone in here-- I was paying attention to the wonderful smell of the food.

2. Library:
[Now that there's an actual library set up and some selection of books, it's high time Willow makes her way there. The books aren't packed to the ceiling, but that's alright with her, books are a good source of knowledge. However the one book that catches her eye seems to be a children's book, one of the Merry Little Voidtrain books. She frowns, but leafs through it, finding Kheli cute enough before placing it back where it was.]

I suppose if there are children aboard, then children's books are necessary.. but where are the books about medicine, music, or magic? Or even weaponry! One must know of those!

[She mutters this more to herself, but would be unbothered if someone answered the question for her.]


3. Quiet Car:
[What better place to practice magic than the quiet car? Willow can be found there minding her business with target practice with her lightning in hitting rings of fire, getting most of them. Although one manages to go astray as a door opens.]

WATCH OUT! It will hurt if it hits you!

[although that's obvious with lightning, she's been practicing with runes enhancing the strength and speed.]

"I've started to remedy that," Hikaru says, showing off the textbook he got. The one titled Elementary Evocation. "There are also texts on religion on my second world, and the two players guides to the MMO are... an outside perspective on Mundus."

"Still, I only have so many points, and I need to save some after the next mission when I can... there's, ah, something I promised I'd get someone."

She stares at him, her eyes widening at the book, wanting to take a look but at the same time not bursting with the question written on her face. "Th-that is wonderful! Were I not low on points myself, I would request a book from my home of different healing arts."

"Healing is unfortunately not as much my forte, alchemical potions aside. If I can spare it I should get a book of common recipes, outside of the few mentioned in The Tetradecatheon and Their Rites regarding Flammite and Erandan healing decoctions..."

And then he notices that he's being stared at. He, not the book.

"...may I help you?" he asks, a note of annoyance in his voice.

She listens intently as he speaks, but then realises her mistake of staring directly at him, embarrassment flushing across her face.

"Ah!! My apologies, I did not mean to stare, please.. do go on?" She flicks her gaze downward with an awkward smile. She's done it again, getting interested in something and staring at the wrong things.

It is wonderful, isn't it?

[Wei Wuxian grinned at her.]

You prefer your food with some flavor, do you?

[He grabbed a pair of chopsticks and scooped up some of what was in the pot.]

You must try some of this.

It smells better than anything that has been made so far, someone knows how to use ingredients and spices perfectly it seems!

[she grabs a bowl, tilting her head as she holds it out.]

I take it you are the cause of this wonderful smell?

Some medicine-focused books are specifically in the Medical Car, though you may have to ask the resident medics if you wish to take them elsewhere.

As for weaponry - I do believe there was a book on a variety of arms, but I do not know why it has not been brought to this library.

Oh? Well that is a good place to have books on healing, healers would need those on hand for ease of access.

Hmm.. if someone checked it out, I suppose that I could wait until it is returned.

Perhaps they are being used as instruction manuals - or were, and then were forgotten.

[Given the amount of social uproar that seems to happen every platform, it's understandable that less-than-quicklife beings lose track of less personal things.]

Though - what else interests you, Willow? Just the subjects you listed, or is there more?

[Her awe had her miss the other bit Webmind says, creation magic is an uncommon and powerful skill no matter who one was.]

A great many things interest me! More than one could list!

[ Alice was mostly just passing through the library, but there’s no denying the fact that the voice she’s hearing as she does so is very familiar.

So she can’t help but turn and look, trying to see what Willow is going on about. Honestly, she actually thinks the children’s books are more interesting than the other books Willow is talking about, but she opts to keep that fact to herself.

Instead she crosses her arms across her chest. ]

What, did you really expect this train to provide us with anything? Giving us an empty, useless library seems about par for the course. [ Okay, maybe that’s a tad too pessimistic, but that’s Alice for you.. ]

It's quite frustrating! I'd like to learn more of different practices to improve my own skills.

[she shakes her head with disappointment, but then smiles at Alice.]

Does this mean we as passengers are required to stock this library then to make it be less barren and lifeless? A bit unfair if you ask me.

I assume so. Though nothing really is stopping us from leaving it like this. [ Alice sure isn't planning on buying any books, after all. She might even find it a vaguely amusing way to say 'screw you' to this dumb move by the train.

But..

She releases a breath. ]

Knowing the people here though, they will endlessly waste their points trying to fill this place up. As if there's nothing more important than books.

[ The door bounces open, and what poor timing as Tidus appears to be walking by it. His mouth about the voice 'What the', except like some kind of inner instinct,

he senses that lightning coming for him.

And without even thinking he leaps back, the voltage smacking into the wall where he was. Smoke wispy in the air. ]

[She's extremely grateful it didn't hit Tidus, and would have been upset with herself if it had with the speed it was travelling.]

My deepest apologies, this is not a magic I am strongest with and need more practice with. You are unharmed, yes? If you are, I can heal as well.

I'm-- fine? [ Confused, wait, what? Magic? ] --Should you be practising magic in a quiet room? What're you in here?

[He'd seen Willow in the quiet car, and poked his head in to say hello, when she cried out. Xander has one thing going for him, though--he's an Earth mage. It ain't much, but at least if he got hit, he'd be fine.

Well, he might have a few Lichtenberg figures, but he'd be fine!

At her yelp, he flings his hands up, the golden glow of his magic--his shields, especially--solidifying in front of him. The lightning does strike, tendrils skittering across his shields and making it glow even brighter, but it's absorbed, no harm done. Xander looks absolutely cheerful at that--it's a sign to him that they're resilient.]

Practice got a little out of hand? [Not like he hasn't seen his twin practicing his magic many times in the past.]

Xander! Are you alright? I did not expect anyone to be coming in as I was practicing.

[Now she's fussing, shocked she almost may have hurt a friend, and would have been horrified if she had!]

It... Is not a magic I have strength in, it needs improvement. My fire would not have done this, many apologies.

[Really, he's fine--and if he wasn't? Likely he'd have healed quickly. He'd like cool scars--he's weird like that.]

Nah, no harm, no foul. Do you need to practice more? I know there's fighting practice in the gym, but I'm not sure the magic folks have a safe place to train on the regular...

[The warning has Edge hitting the deck and rolling into the room, just as a trained ninja probably ought to do. He comes up to a crouch on his feet and one hand, the Masamune in the free one out of habit.]

[Then he takes a breath, and lets out a chuckle.] This is entirely the wrong sort of falling for you!

[WangJi had been intrigued by the library car. It was a place that he had spent much time back home, but that was an actual library and this was in a train. But he happened to be looking when she made the comment about the collection]

I would hardly call it a library with it so empty, one may as well consider it another quiet car..

[Frustrated as she is, her frustrations are not directed at him. Libraries are things Willow grew up in with her studies and desire to learn, this small selection hurts her.]

I agree. The library in the Cloud Recesses was far more substantial than this.

I wonder if books could be ordered and then placed here.
