1. Game Room

So a while ago Danny had purchased a model kit from the train store. Today he was determined that he was finally going to put it together.

After claiming an empty table in the game room, he opens up the box and starts setting out the supplies. Boxes and boxes of little plastic pieces. Glue, brushes and scissors and little tubes of paint in a dozen different colors. 

And most important of all, the thick sheaf of folded papers that served as the instructions. Danny opens it up and quickly folds it to show the first page.



2. Kitchen

Danny busies himself digging through the refrigerator. He wasn't great at cooking, but he figured he could at least handle throwing together a sandwich, mystery meat and all.

And hey, another positive. It might be scary mystery meat, but at least odds were low it was going to turn into a ghost and swear revenge on all sandwich eaters.


3. Training Gym

Danny had been spending a lot of time in the training gym recently as he tried to sort out the actual fighting styles a few people had been teaching him and how they worked with his abilties.

It wasn't going that well.

Today he was floating near the ceiling in his ghost form as he focused on figuring out how long he could hold a shield. Five minutes this time, and the translucent energy shield sputters out of existence.

"Need a hand?"

Nita doesn't stop in the Games carriage all that frequently - even now, she looks distracted by something - but she's focusing well enough on Danny, and what he's got set up.

"My friend Kit has a lot of these, back home. It's not like I helped him build all of them, but I'm not completely out of my depth with it either."

Mostly it was just tedious. Fortunately, tedious is what she needs right now; something she has to focus on.

"Sure!" Danny glances up from the tiny piece he was carefully painting. "Take a seat and pick a part to work on."

Nita nods, picks a seat, and starts getting to work.

Danny may hear her mutter in the Speech every now and again, though she's not hosting a full-on conversation. They're parts of a whole, after all; it's not as if they don't want to fit together...

"You sure the paint has to go on first? Or is that just because of how it dries, versus the glue drying and stuff."

Makes things up

"Some of the pieces do." He gestures at the group he was working on. "These go inside, so they need to be painted before they get glued in..

"That does make sense," Nita says, wondering how detailed this model is going to be when they're done...

No matter. The ones she's working on right now are outside pieces.

"Should the inside be built before the outside?"

"Almost done," Danny says cheerfully. "Soon as the paint dries I can glue the inside parts together, and then the whole thing just kind of snaps into the outside section."

"Huh. That's pretty neat!"

One of those things she hadn't really noticed before.

"I'll see what I can do about these wings, then."

Those pieces had no excessive complications, at any rate.

17th, Game Room

Trunks rarely paid attention to the games room, or he hadn't before. But even he could only 'train' so much. He'd heard there was a VR game though, and he wanted to check that out. But it was a pleasant surprise when he saw Danny with papers spread about him and some kind of small model.

"Whacha building?" He asked, coming over to peer at the instructions. This was familiar, in a way---although usually it was his Mom and machine parts strewn about in her lab.

"The space shuttle!" Danny set down the pieces he'd been checking over and holds up the box, which had a photo of the finished model on the front. "I had one like this at home."

"Never seen it. Must be unique to your world." Trunks took the box, head tilting. "Interesting design."

"You didn't have anything like this where you're from? No NASA?"

[light_of_willpower]

"What's nasa?"

[schrodingersghost]

"National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Its the part of the government that runs the space program back home." He gestured at the box. "The shuttle is one of their programs. Its mostly used to carry supplies and astronauts between the International Space Station and earth and to do maintenance on the satellites and stuff up in orbit."

17, Training

After a delightful time eating her first shoryu ramen, and getting to a place where the laundry is hung to dry, Eight decided now was a good time to try the training facilities.

The guy floating on the sky was different.

"That's... impressive."

Danny scowls as his shield once again sputters out of existence.

"Not that impressive. I still can't get this thing to last more than a minute.

...He might have missed that she hadn't been talking about the shield.

Indeed. Fortunately Eight has started to become wise that people have a tendency to miss the mark when it comes to asking and answering questions.

"How do you do it?" Botht he flying and the shield, but either or would have been interesting to discover more.

"How?" Danny frowns at the question. "Because I'm a ghost? This is ghost energy, so it just kind of happens if I want it enough?"

He is the best at explaining.

Ohhh. Eight's eyes open wide. She had seen ghosts before -- many times, as it happened whenever an inkling or octoling became splatted. She was surprised with how large human ghosts are. Still...

"Don't you need to go to your body? That can't be good for your ghost." Whenever she was separated from her body she needed to immediately reconstitute because it felt... bad... otherwise.

"My body's right here?"

Danny was very confused at the moment. Maybe she thought he was something like Ichigo?

Kitchen

He wasn't sure he wouldn't eat the mystery meat that way if he had to, but it wasn't going to be terribly palatable was it?

"You might like that better if you panfry that bear stuff first."

Danny's only reaction to this is confusion.

"What's panfrying? That sounds kind of dangerous."

90% of his cooking knowledge was pasta and sandwiches. And how to survive a kitchen that was running off of anti-ghost technology.

"It's not dangerous if you're careful. You don't need much fat to make it fry."

Senku blinked, just wondering who wouldn't know at least that much.

"Do you want me to show you?"

"If you don't mind? I've never heard of this before."

And his cooking skills were basically limited to throwing pasta in water or slapping meat on a sandwich.

"I don't mind. Cooking is very scientific. It's nothing to be alarmed by."

He came around to the stove top and took out a frying pan first, then set it on a burner and put it on medium.

"You can only say that because you've never been to a Fenton Family Dinner."

Meals could be very exciting at home. A side effect of his parents storing the ectoplasm samples in the refrigerator.
