Who: Kitty and Bucky
Where: Kitchen
When: Horseshoe 17
What: Bucky checks on Kitty after feeling a wave of panic a few days ago. It's not as bad as he expects.
Warnings: Possible sad feelings later? But mostly lots of embarrassed feelings
The most recent wave of passengers who had disembarked the train left deep marks on many of those who remained. And while Kitty was also saddened by some of the people who were gone, she was more worried about others. She'd already run into some deeply-hurt friends, and after a while she realized that some of her downcast feelings weren't actually entirely her own.
She wanted to help, but there wasn't really much she could do. Still, she wanted to try something, even if it was just reaching out to let people know there was someone who still cared. And from her own experiences, baked goods were a pretty decent way of doing that.
She still wasn't the best at cooking or baking, but she wanted to think she had improved lately. Having a bit more practice couldn't hurt, though, which was why she was in the kitchen today, trying out a recipe for cupcakes she'd gotten. If these cupcakes turned out okay, then she could make more to give to people later.

So he'd started at the back of the train and made his way towards the front, checking the cars for her. He was just starting to think she must be in her cabin when he poked his head into the kitchen car and caught sight of her. "There you are," he said lightly, coming over to watch her work. "I was starting to think you were hiding from me," he teased. "Are you okay?"

She hadn't been actively avoiding him, but she hadn't been seeking him out either. Despite picking up some of his negative feelings and being a bit worried about him, she'd waited a bit, because she also knew he'd probably picked up her emotions as well.
Though he was probably picking up on her embarrassment right now too.

She had made sure to follow the recipe to the letter, so they should taste fine...if a little bland.

"I'm okay," she answered honestly. "It really wasn't a big deal or anything."

So, after a few more moments of chewing it over, Kitty explained the incident that happened at the platform. Meeting new people, answering questions...getting jumped on by a bug-like creature that got stuck to her face.
