Hey guys, forget about that public breakdown the other day. Today Inigo is on the ICP with a big smile, seeming as cheerful as ever. It's fine. It's cool.

"Good day, everyone! Tidus and I brought some things back with us from Irivar to share with everyone. So why not come over to the standard coach and see if there's anything you'd like to take with you, hm? We have quite the selection! Oh, and.. erm, Taiki, Roland, Bryn and Della.. If you could make sure to come see us, we'd appreciate it! Otherwise I might have to send Ti--"

Before Inigo can even finish the sentence, there's an offscreen obviously very Tidus-y voice calling out, "Inigo! Ask for Sakura too!"

Inigo huffs, turning his gaze to the off screen source. "I was getting to that!" (No he wasn't.) Apparently he accidentally pulled his ticket off the ICP as he starts moving away from it too, because the feed just cuts out. Just come get some sweet stuff.

Their set-up in the standard car is a simple, if messy, one. They have a few of their offered freebies on the same table they occupy, each guy facing the other, sat by the wall. From the immediate front, fragrant bags sit no bigger than a palm, a variety of scents better to tell when held to the nose. Whetstones sit stacked mostly on top of one another, and then a cluster of hair ribbons and circular hair ties behind them. Behind the bags are a few scent oils--basically, perfumes, if not very big. There's a few to choose from, but...

...not as many as there are the soaps, which take up a half of the table in their choice. It's like a lush shop here of choice, different colours and sizes.

And Inigo and Tidus? Sit there, either playing cards or fiddling through the paper craft book available from the art supplies where the old library used to be.

A chalkboard sits balanced, with the words 'FREE 2 TAKE' written in big letters. In case you missed the public announcement.

1:
Come up, and have a look. Ask about what they've got.

2:
Or while you're here, maybe you can help Tidus, who pipes up to ask-

"Hey, quick question. How long 'til you're comfortable hugging someone?"

(ooc: as a note, all threads on this will be threeways! please enjoy trying to handle both teens at once. you can't seperate them.)

Taiki was still as Roland poured paint onto his hand and then lowered it on top of his blue handprint. He smiled as he saw the red, blue and now purple handprint appear.

"It's beautiful." He smiled at him. Roland was not how he had thought of him, he seemed so serious and yet this, this small expression of artistry and joy. This was a whole other side of him.

And one that filled Taiki with joy.

"I'm no renaissance artist, but..." It'll do? And there's something about that makes it feel like he's gotten just a bit closer to Taiki now, knowing that in some ways, their lives are similar. He is no kirin, but Taiki has been through hardships Roland can sympathize with. He hopes life becomes kinder now, with no more memories to be muddled with, no more deaths to encounter.

He'll make sure of it from his end, at the very least.

Roland hands over the painting right-side up to Taiki, with a finger hovering close to the edge. "Gotta sign it. All artists sign their work before framing."

Taiki smiled at the painting as Roland turned him towards it, there was something sweet about the two handprints merged together.

He nodded at Roland and dipped his smallest finger into the blue paint. It's a little difficult to write with his little finger but soon he has signed it in the corner. Taiki.

"You should sign your name too."

He takes his turn, wordlessly, with a smile on his face. Mimics the same action, dipping his pinky finger into the red paint this time, and signs in a flourish his name - Roland. Just Roland. Not quite the presidential signature he'd use often even in his own journal, but it's still very much his marker.

"It really does look good, huh?" Roland holds it up as much as he can, trying not to stain the rest of the page with his hands. "Let's call it...An Ode to World-Hopping Friends, by two budding painters."

Taiki smiled at that and nodded, "That is a fitting name for it." Almost too grand for what it was, but that in itself was a sort of beauty. Something so simple, yet something that had been fun and pleasant to make.

He smiled as he looked at it. "We should go and wash our hands while it dries, so we don't ruin it."
adregem: (chin up kid.)

"Good idea. Remind me to get a frame for this on the next platform. You should do this with Gyousou too, and have that framed. Have handprint paintings with everyone, I say. Heh." Friends, at least. He carefully sets the paper down to dry and scoots himself out of the bench and table, coffee completely and totally forgotten.

"Let's go, then. Maybe we can ask your friend over there to paint something next." He nudges playfully on the direction of the jerboa, who at least, has grown relatively used to Roland's presence.

He smiled at that, it was difficult to think of Lord Gyousou doing something such as hand printing. But then again he wouldn't have thought it something Roland would have come up with himself.

He smiled over at Gyōkō and reached out to encourage the jerboa into his crate, at least whilst they went to wash their hands. He doesn't want the tiny creature to get into any danger.

"I think he could do a good footprint picture. But I'm not sure if paint would be harmful to him..."
adregem: (heh. i expect that of you.)

[personal profile] adregem 2020-12-09 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, you're right. Sorry."

Though if the paint was meant for kids...It would be non-toxic, right? Still, that doesn't mean animal friendly. Roland shrugs nonchalantly and offers the tiny creature a smile.

"Well, we'll find a way to integrate his footprint into our blossoming art career, Taiki. Do you think clay would be good? He could step on it while it's forming and we could bake it into a little medallion."

Where was the closest sink - right, a little ways back across the expanse of the train moving to the sleeper cabins. Roland leads the way out of courtesy.

"No... You don't need to be sorry. I don't know... if it would be."

He doesn't want to harm him, he's trying to be a responsible pet owner.

He smiled at the suggestion though. "We could try... He would probably like walking in clay."

It would probably be an interesting sensation for a little jerboa. Taiki followed Roland as he spoke.

"I'll see what I can purchase at the store. It's nice to have small projects like this when we've got time between missions."

Which is something Roland can only say now, all his experiences between worlds stacking up and developing into something actually meaningful. It tickled his fancy to know that if he could frame what they made, Taiki would be able to keep a memorabilia from their time together on the train. Whatever that meant, or however possible it was for kirins in the void and their eventual return trip home. One day.

They'll always have a nice handprint on paper to remember.

The trip to wash their hands is a short one, and he allows Taiki to come into the booth first, space a premium. So he stands outside, like a guard.

"Yes, it is nice to do things in between." He nodded and then fell silent as he washed his hands, doing his best to not make too much of a mess in the sink.

He was mostly successful, managing to rinse away any paint from the basin. He stepped outside when he was done, to make room for Roland.
