Sure, it's not like Inigo knows what Roland is supposed to be either - those animal ears are pretty vague, okay, it could be any animal with even vaguely pointy ears! - but they can't just switch what animal he is depending on the joke!! Not to mention he can't help but glance over at Roland and wonder why the older guy is starting to peel it. Is it an old people thing? A Roland kind of thing? Inigo was thinking that if he'd have to participate in this, he would very much just have shoved the knife straight into the turnip, very much like Tidus is doing. Isn't that what carving is all about? Also, he's not even using a royal sword to peel that vegetable, wow.
