[Open] Escapades With A Mad Genius
Who: Senku Ishigami and anyone who wants to spend time with him.
Where: Various
When: Imagination 1-6
What: Senku apparently has all kinds of things to do pre-mission.
Warnings: One prompt is medical in nature, it's not really graphic.
Kitchen
In the absence of a laboratory, Senku appeared to be using cooking to cope. No, he wasn't on the purple team, meaning he wasn't officially cooking, but it was keeping him busy, and no one really wanted him to have idle hands for too long.
From the time they left the platform, until the night before the mission, he could likely be found in there at least once a day working on one project or another.
The first day, he was busy using the new ingredient of honey to make a caramel on the stove, and he had bunches of cilantro and some limes on the counter in front of him, as well as a water carbonatation machine.
After that, he could be found with a few other projects. In one instance he had lemons, honey and coconut oil in front of him. In another, he appeared to be making some kind of marinade with soy sauce and a variety of spice packets and some kind of meat. In a third, he was slicing ginger root and daikon as thinly as he could.
On Imagination day 5, he'd found his way to a few mangoes which since he didn't wear his SCA on the train very often, he didn't get the reminder that peeling mangoes was a bad idea. He'd barely started the first one when he developed a rash on his hands and at least the skin that could be seen swelled up, including his eyes and lips, thanks to urushiol being present between the peel and the fruit. One might stop at that point and deal with the allergic reaction, but Senku proceeded to continue peeling fruit as though he wasn't immensely uncomfortable.
Spa
Senku will likely check out the spa late in the evening when he couldn't sleep one night. For modesty's sake, at least other people's modesty, he will select the requisite orange swimsuit and sink into the water for a little soak. Notably, when wet, his hair collapses into some semblance of ordinary.
He wasn't interested in a massage, but a soak and a steam wouldn't be out of place.
[OOC: Also available, choose your own adventure. Senku haunts most cars, he doesn't sleep a whole lot and he doesn't usually mind company. You can just add whatever you like - don't be afraid of the pre-planned threads, or you can contact me on Discord: Ammeschan#5385 or

"It looks a lot easier for you to cut yourself by accident that way, for one. ... Is it as bad if you wear gloves or something?"
May as well make sure all precautions that can be taken here, are being taken.
no subject
He considered her question. "In theory, if I had gloves and didn't come in contact with urushiol at all, then no I wouldn't have a reaction, but I'm very sensitive to it." He explained, rather needlessly.
"Now there's no point."
no subject
Just get the rest of the urushiol handled.
"Definitely go to the Medical car, though - see if there's something for your skin."
She still sounded annoyed, but not so much now.
no subject
Senku shrugged a little bit at her suggestion and washed his hands. "The swelling will go down in a couple of hours." He was uncomfortable, certainly but he wasn't going to give in and rub at the rash or anything. It wasn't the first time he'd had an allergic reaction.
no subject
Rinse and store; simple enough.
She gave him another Look.
"Can you breathe alright like that?"
Sure, he could talk, but even that wasn't necessarily a good indicator. If he was used to hiding his pain...
no subject
"I don't get anaphylaxis, it's only dermatological." He answered, he could take over once she rinsed them if that made her feel better, he was content enough to hover, so it didn't look like he was going to hunt down an antihistamine.
no subject
"Gimme a minute here, then."
Though it'd be more like two; once Nita started rinsing she was very careful to be thorough.
no subject
"Sure. It's fine, I'm just making a compote."
no subject
Baking was nice, both as a way to pass the time and as something to share.

"Better eating than trail mix and jerky, though we should probably bring some of those things too."
She gave him another once-over, hearing his voice improve, but her concern hadn't dissipated juuust yet.
no subject
"I made some wolf jerky too, for protein, the stollen has a lot of other nutrients in it. The two together will be fairly complete."
no subject
"... Did Orange Team ever pick a Quartermaster? I know Glorfindel and Roland were talking about those, and the Arms Bands. Or are you just planning your own meals for now, and letting other people plan how to scale them up for the teams at large?"
By this point the fruit was safely decontaminated.
no subject
"No idea." Senku answered with a shake of his head. "I'm not really up on how the team is run. We had a meeting but..."
He shrugged. It was Curufin and Eva who ran the meeting.
"I only had enough fruit to make a couple of loaves of bread, so it's essentially for me and the Mentalist, but I'm happy to share with anyone who needs it."
no subject
"Whether it'll be about the mission or just more outlining of who does what in general, I don't know."
Again, they'd lost a lot of structure these last two stations.
"... Might get some people bribing you to share, in that case."
no subject
no subject
With resources finite enough as they were, being able to share meant a lot.

"Here's to worlds that have fruits and grains, then. - You had a jar in mind for this stuff? I know there were a bunch of them after Jema'grethy..."
She remembered the carrots, okay? Those had been memorable.
no subject
"Yep, I have one of those jars. This would be the fourth use I've had for it. First it had berries, then alcohol, then fruit in alcohol, now it's empty."
no subject
Oddly pictorial, that.
"And I'm guessing cooking isn't the hardest thing you've done while you've had that allergic reaction, huh?"
no subject
"My usual trigger is lacquer, and when I have that out, we're usually in the middle of building something or other. It happens often enough. It's not usually when the project is done though, and I just keep going until it is."
no subject
But she kept up at the counter all the same, more bemused now than angry.
"You won't have to keep doing that here, anyway."
no subject
"It's not that high a priority for me, we've had other things to worry about. I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually."
no subject
"Yeesh. I take it you're looking forward to reclaiming enough resources to recreate a regular lab?"
Speaking of 'eventually' and all...
