[Open] Escapades With A Mad Genius
Who: Senku Ishigami and anyone who wants to spend time with him.
Where: Various
When: Imagination 1-6
What: Senku apparently has all kinds of things to do pre-mission.
Warnings: One prompt is medical in nature, it's not really graphic.
Kitchen
In the absence of a laboratory, Senku appeared to be using cooking to cope. No, he wasn't on the purple team, meaning he wasn't officially cooking, but it was keeping him busy, and no one really wanted him to have idle hands for too long.
From the time they left the platform, until the night before the mission, he could likely be found in there at least once a day working on one project or another.
The first day, he was busy using the new ingredient of honey to make a caramel on the stove, and he had bunches of cilantro and some limes on the counter in front of him, as well as a water carbonatation machine.
After that, he could be found with a few other projects. In one instance he had lemons, honey and coconut oil in front of him. In another, he appeared to be making some kind of marinade with soy sauce and a variety of spice packets and some kind of meat. In a third, he was slicing ginger root and daikon as thinly as he could.
On Imagination day 5, he'd found his way to a few mangoes which since he didn't wear his SCA on the train very often, he didn't get the reminder that peeling mangoes was a bad idea. He'd barely started the first one when he developed a rash on his hands and at least the skin that could be seen swelled up, including his eyes and lips, thanks to urushiol being present between the peel and the fruit. One might stop at that point and deal with the allergic reaction, but Senku proceeded to continue peeling fruit as though he wasn't immensely uncomfortable.
Spa
Senku will likely check out the spa late in the evening when he couldn't sleep one night. For modesty's sake, at least other people's modesty, he will select the requisite orange swimsuit and sink into the water for a little soak. Notably, when wet, his hair collapses into some semblance of ordinary.
He wasn't interested in a massage, but a soak and a steam wouldn't be out of place.
[OOC: Also available, choose your own adventure. Senku haunts most cars, he doesn't sleep a whole lot and he doesn't usually mind company. You can just add whatever you like - don't be afraid of the pre-planned threads, or you can contact me on Discord: Ammeschan#5385 or

Making Waves (Close to Tidus and Roland)
Senku trusted Roland, so if he was involved it wouldn't be a problem.
He made to nudge Tidus' arm. "So did it work? Did we get a radio?"
no subject
"Huh? Oh-" comes out of Tidus's mouth from Senku's excited approach (excited for him), and he nods his head to Roland - who happens to have hold of a circular disk.
"We think that's it?"
no subject
He says first, offering only that as he studies the device closely. He'll approach them though, especially for Senku's sake as Roland's filled in on the latest addition to their team of contact-the-void-ministry but in secret. "What exactly did you ask for, again?" Roland throws to Tidus, a refresher question more than anything else. By all accounts, how was this a radio?
A one-way radio? Roland turns to Senku and offers it to him, his eye much keener than his when it comes to things like this.

Baking Bread ( Closed to Inigo and Roland)
He was already in the kitchen, pulling out the kinds of things they needed. He had a jar of pineapples preserved in alcohol, flour, honey, a lemon and some packets of crushed nuts from their last stop.
no subject
But he has at least an idea of what they're going to do when he heads into the kitchen, which is why Inigo smiles when he spots Senku and his preparations.
"Senku! Here I am." Not arriving together with Roland, but he's pretty sure the other will be here in moment. Besides-- Inigo is instantly distracted by the jar of pineapples, picking it up with curious eyes. "Oh, what are these?" He didn't use this the last time he made bread!
no subject
"Well now, hope I'm not a late riser?" He smiles at his own joke - get it? Bread rises! He waves at Senku and lingers by Inigo's side, giving me a pat on the bat, gentle but affectionate. "Hey, pup. What's that?" He'll eye the same jar too, but there's a gleam of recognition. "...Since when did we get pineapples?"

A Beary Yummy Lunch (Closed to Tidus)
"It does well roasting, you could do something that's similar to like a pulled pork that way, or even you could make a stew if you were worrying about stretching it out a little bit."
Unsurprisingly, Senku knew what to do with hunted ingredients.
no subject
Which, when you have a entire de-skinned bear, is a lot. And this was just one before them, cleaned of blood at least. They still have some organs there though, which... Tidus wasn't going to think about right now. He knows how to cook! Doesn't mean he's used to this.
"Well-" Right, where to start. "Both of those are fine. This isn't the only bear, and I don't wanna stuff all of the lunchboxes with the same thing." Variety is the key to blitz, as they say. "We can shove the legs and neck in a big cooking pot for a stew? I don't know what the 'good bits' of bear are."
And that's usually a thing, isn't it. And Tidus is staring at the entire thing, wincing in a frown. He's used to this, thanks to cooking with fish and just some of the pilgrimage with Yuna and that... but ugh.

Cooking Lesson? (Closed to Romeo)
He also had a soft spot for kids, and he was always interested in passing on knowledge he had.
So, he washed his hands and looked at his kitchen helper. "What do you want to make today?"
no subject
"How about one of the recipes with honey, sir? I never cooked with honey before!"
Or at least, not main food. He had made puddings with honey before!

Kitchen, Imagination 5
Unfortunately, she's not going to be focusing on that today.
"Senku. You do not look alright."
If the man in question looks up, he'll note that Nita's not going anywhere just now.
no subject
"I'm fine." He answered, it sounded a little bit off. It would be fine when it faded sometime later, and he'd probably feel awful for awhile, but that was par for the course whenever he got out the lacquer anyway, this was just another urushiol delivery system.

Kitchen - Day 5
Plus. Senku got him cola. Cola! Beautiful, wonderful cola. If he wasn't so incredibly fond of him it would've been a fantastic bribe, but. Nobody tell Senku - the mad scientist already had charmed him completely well. Surely it wasn't so obvious.
But he's alarmed, five days into their new ingredients, that he'd come into the kitchen to see -
"Holy shit." Gen came over, and would try to get knife and fruit out of his hands, carefully. "You. Why do you have to be allergic to the weirdest things? Since when did mangos have lacquer in them?!"
no subject
He paused after a moment. "I didn't actually consider that until now."
Not that it would've stopped him, as they well knew, but he let Gen take the knife.

A Relaxing Cup of Tea (Closed to Nike)
He wasn't planning on preparing anything to eat, but he certainly could find something if she was hungry.
What to do when it's the end (Quiet Car) - Closed to Senku and Gen
He almost backed out. But if he really was going to be prepared for whatever came his way - sent back and forth the two worlds he is now undoubtedly part of, no matter what - Roland couldn't come home without an inkling of what to do if the worst came to pass. Back to a desolation he couldn't overcome, not alone. (But alone, still. The only survivor, maybe.)
He steels himself for a discussion that he hopes will not reveal what isn't important; just the facts. Just an idea, a guide on how these two souls were able to survive their own stony-age apocalypse and bring back what once was lost. For Roland could build nations and kingdoms, has done it twice in his life, but has realized he'll need more than what he's learned from Evermore if he was to truly succeed.
no subject
It wasn't his style, at all.
He knocked once and opened the door, and held it open for Gen before moving to sit against the wall.
"Hey." He offered, which was improvement as far as things went, he'd been getting more in the habit of things like social conventions over time. "Gen said you had some questions."

Something a little sweet? (Closed to Siebren)
In front of him, was a container of honey. He was up to something, naturally, as he always was.
no subject
He is somehow unsurprised to see Senku already in the kitchen and hard at work; if it weren't for the mandated train blackout, he'd hardly believe Senku slept at all. He reaches the coffeemaker, realizes that nobody has made coffee yet, and begins the process himself. It's only when the coffee beings brewing that he looks over at Senku's current project. Green liquid, a pan, and honey. He is...lost.

Imagination 4?
"Assuming we have bottles free for it of course. If not I can settle for a smoothie.
Sounds great, yes!
He considered the berries for a moment. "The easiest way to do this is to convert this into a syrup, which I can definitely give you a jar for. Then make the drinks at your leisure. I should've ordered more bottles. That's what did with my cola ingredients. I've got one jar with the mixture and jar with the honey caramel."
He reflected on that for a moment. "I'm not sure the honey caramel is the best for this, it might be too strong against the berries."

more bear, more all the time
Good thing they've got hours to even wait for most of this meat to cook in the first place.
"So, Gyueran, that was the mission with all the crabs. I went with Blue since I heard Blue and Red struggle with numbers, 'cause everyone sticks with their own colour. But they had an entire island to defend, while Purple had to go in underground caverns to protect priests while they sorted out a magic block." Both important sounding, but Blue sounding like they needed more ground to cover.
"That was the problem the island was having: All their spiritual magic was getting blocked, or something like that. And so fiends were coming and attacking the island, and people had to figure what was up. And then Orange had some underwater people to save from a deep sleep..."
Tidus can tell Senku all he knows about the missions he's been on, or can be timeskipped to a later part of the conversation. Wow, fourth wall breaking.
beary good
This kind of work didn't involve much thought, more like he needed to keep this hands steady and he didn't have to calculate much, so conversation wasn't at all a problem. He'd finish with segments of meat and then offer them to Tidus to put away where he liked. Every so often a chunk would disappear into his own arms band with the bones and insides as he cleared them out. It was nice and methodical, and if they weren't talking, it would be rather meditative.
He listened, he asked questions, and then he added. "The places I've been, I've got copious notes. Not just from what I saw there and found there, but the things I brought back onto the train to study after the fact. I'm trying to see if there's any connection between the worlds aside from the train and the void itself, neither of which we understand yet."
He paused. "At least, those notes are in my head, I haven't written them yet. Kaiba did ask me to, I'm just preparing for the mission first, but I'll get on it really soon. I don't have nearly as many places as you though." If they ran out of conversation, he had questions about what Tidus said before, in regards to his connection to the world through the SCA. It made him want to tear apart his SCA, but there was a risk to that too, wasn't there?
