[Open] Escapades With A Mad Genius
Who: Senku Ishigami and anyone who wants to spend time with him.
Where: Various
When: Imagination 1-6
What: Senku apparently has all kinds of things to do pre-mission.
Warnings: One prompt is medical in nature, it's not really graphic.
Kitchen
In the absence of a laboratory, Senku appeared to be using cooking to cope. No, he wasn't on the purple team, meaning he wasn't officially cooking, but it was keeping him busy, and no one really wanted him to have idle hands for too long.
From the time they left the platform, until the night before the mission, he could likely be found in there at least once a day working on one project or another.
The first day, he was busy using the new ingredient of honey to make a caramel on the stove, and he had bunches of cilantro and some limes on the counter in front of him, as well as a water carbonatation machine.
After that, he could be found with a few other projects. In one instance he had lemons, honey and coconut oil in front of him. In another, he appeared to be making some kind of marinade with soy sauce and a variety of spice packets and some kind of meat. In a third, he was slicing ginger root and daikon as thinly as he could.
On Imagination day 5, he'd found his way to a few mangoes which since he didn't wear his SCA on the train very often, he didn't get the reminder that peeling mangoes was a bad idea. He'd barely started the first one when he developed a rash on his hands and at least the skin that could be seen swelled up, including his eyes and lips, thanks to urushiol being present between the peel and the fruit. One might stop at that point and deal with the allergic reaction, but Senku proceeded to continue peeling fruit as though he wasn't immensely uncomfortable.
Spa
Senku will likely check out the spa late in the evening when he couldn't sleep one night. For modesty's sake, at least other people's modesty, he will select the requisite orange swimsuit and sink into the water for a little soak. Notably, when wet, his hair collapses into some semblance of ordinary.
He wasn't interested in a massage, but a soak and a steam wouldn't be out of place.
[OOC: Also available, choose your own adventure. Senku haunts most cars, he doesn't sleep a whole lot and he doesn't usually mind company. You can just add whatever you like - don't be afraid of the pre-planned threads, or you can contact me on Discord: Ammeschan#5385 or

He huffed lightly. "I could take this task back right now, watch me." He didn't move though, it was a pretty empty threat.
no subject
Gen shrugged his shoulders casually. "I'm nearly done anyway. You can rest your eyes for a moment, then we can head over to our quiet room. The compote should cool down once it's come together, yes? In the fridge?"
no subject
"I'm not resting my eyes." He pouted at him. "And yeah, we can cool it in the fridge and then into the arms band it goes."
no subject
Searching around for a jar and then a ladle, Gen would spoon the compote into that next. "It's nice having the fridge to help speed things along ... it's spoiling us a little, Senku-chan."
no subject
"Yeah, well someday we'll have proper refrigeration again. Good enough we can freeze and preserve things so we can get through winter. Everything else is just extra." He yawned again. "Bed's spoiling us too."
no subject
He saw that yawn, Senku. Gen said, "I am seriously considering for you to invent futons when we're back. We've been getting by without a fridge or freezer, but I've been loving a good mattress, my back will be said without it."
Making light of things, of course, ignoring as always how dire things were for the Senku he left in his time.
no subject
Gen saw nothing, he wasn't tired. No one could prove he was tired, and he wouldn't be if he didn't take that medicine.
"I'll think about it. I'm not sure it'll be the kind of futon you're used to anyway."

All the compote safely in the container, he snapped the lid shut and placed it in the refrigerator.
no subject
"It's a moot point, we're not there at the moment and we have mattresses here." They were small and it meant they had to be really close, but that was fine.
no subject
"Yes, I suppose. I guess I keep thinking of home, at times, I worry a little about what's happening despite my better judgement," Gen said, his voice cheerful in contrast to his somber words. "It's not as if I can do anything about us being here right now, of course. We're the sorts who always try to make the best of the hand we're dealt."
no subject
"I think of home too. I'm not worried exactly, the three of them are more than capable, but..." He missed everyone, that was true enough. He'd been gone long enough that he missed them.
It would be way too sappy to admit something like that.
no subject
Maybe it'd be something too sappy for Senku to admit, but Gen wouldn't hesitate to do so. But he already realized that, of the two of them, he'd need to be the chief operator of sap. He squeezed Senku's hand.
"It's selfish, maybe, since you'd be happier at home ... but I really am glad I'm not alone here."
no subject
"Also I never said that." He complained, because of course he did.
no subject
His look back at Senku was soft. "Just as I wouldn't leave you alone if I had any choice, my dearest."
At the quiet room carriage, he knocked first to see if their star-decorated room was occupied - and then opened the door.
no subject
It was alright, Senku would sit beside him anyway and slide the door closed. "What did you want to talk about?"
no subject
"I was thinking a little, after I was helping make some vegan brownies, my darling," Gen could easily come up with a pretense. "We might need to find a way to get food preferences and allergies from others on the train, and make sure they're actually getting what they need. Perhaps some sort of survey?"
no subject
He blinked a moment. "What do you need my help with that for?" He asked, somewhat bewildered. "That sounds like a thing you'd do."
no subject
"It is a thing I would do," Gen said, "but I'm not as clever as you, my dearest. I'm thinking I'm going to neglect to ask about some potential deadly allergens, and was hoping I could list what I'm thinking of ... you'll tell me if I'm missing anything."
no subject
"Okay." Senku said, yawning again, he sounded drowsy already. "I'm listening, go ahead."
no subject
Though, who was he kidding? "Peanuts, and tree nuts ... which thankfully don't include almonds, did you know? They're a different family than pecans and walnuts and the like ... soy, and wheat, and dairy ..."
Gen would continue to ramble on until he was very sure Senku was asleep.
