Hey look, it's a Tony log
Who: Tony and OTA
Where: Kitchen/ Dining car
When: Bassoon 4-ish
What: Tony's cooking meals, making treats, and generally trying to keep himself busy
Warnings: Irreverence and Language? The usual.
The last team had done a respectable job in the kitchen. He'd had few complaints during the last month. However, between himself and the rest of the red team, especially Feanor, people were going to be very well fed this month.
Even though there were plenty of cooks in this kitchen for the month, this particular day Tony had taken over the kitchen. He was only sort of sticking to the recipes he'd been given, preferring to use his own or make them up as he went (shocking, I know). Currently he had three dishes he was working on at once. He had some salmon he was curing to make lox, some gummy candy he was making, and the main dish for the evening meal- whole roasted salmon with herbs and farfalle pasta with asparagus and tomatoes. Thanks to Evie and Feanor, they also had sourdough bread to go along with it and a fancy Elvish dessert.
Off to one side, he had an eggplant out, ready to fix for certain individuals who saw fish and fled in terror.
[ooc: Feel free to catch him at any point of this meal prep, during clean up, or during the meal. Whatever, you guys know I'll tag anything.]

Thankfully she doesn't seem to linger on it, since the question distracts her, making her shake her head. "My parents didn't know anything about all of that." There's a slight pause, and she seems to hesitate, but then Madoka does add more. "I never told them."
See, Tony is an adult. A responsible adult, in Madoka's eyes. And he's also a parent. Hence the hesitance, since she's a little worried about being scolded for not having told them.

He laughs in earnest after that, shaking his head. "How is anyone going to trust you again?" At that, he picks up one of the pieces of mango with a fork he was going to put in the new batch of candies and hands it to her. "So besides being an incredibly normal teenager, and the sweetest version of that, you also spared your parents from knowing there were some horrible dangers running around the city that you had to deal with?"

"D.. Don't make fun of me..!" Granted, Madoka looks just about as offended and intimidating as a hamster right now. Which is to say not very much so. She will take that piece of mango as compensation for that, thank you very much! But her shoving that piece of mango into her mouth and cheeks while pouting only makes her look more like a hamster. She even still politely chews and swallows before speaking up..
"I.. It just didn't feel right to lie to them.." Despite Tony absolutely nailing why Madoka didn't want to tell them to begin with. "Haven't you ever had to lie to your parents about something?"
Imagining him as a child is pretty hard, but surely he must've been her age at some point, right.

How on earth was he supposed to take her seriously with her cheeks all puffed out like that?
"Oh, of course, sweetheart. Every teenager who has ever existed has lied to their parents at some point. At least you were doing it to help them. I did it to get away with stuff."
Rude. He isn't that old. (Yes, yes he is.)

At least she seems a little less offended and cheek-puffy now. "Well, I think it's just that my parents wouldn't disapprove of anything I'd do.."
.. Aside from maybe deciding to fight world-threatening monsters since it'd put her in very, very direct and overwhelming danger. But.. you know. That's a seperate category.
(It's also totally since Madoka would never think of doing anything most parents would disapprove of, but apparently that hasn't quite clicked yet in her head.)
"So there's nothing I'd have to get away with to begin with."

"Well your parents sure are lucky to have such a sweet daughter who cares so much about them." He shakes his head, amused. The sheet of candy he pulled out of the fridge gets a dusting of powdered sugar. He picks up a napkin and scoops one of the wiggly cubes onto it. Passing it off to her, he smiles. "Tell me what you think. Are they sweet enough?"

For a moment she seems almost thoughtful as she tastes it, but once she swallows the small cube, Madoka smiles.
"Yeah, it's good! I think that's the right amount of sugar."
Granted, Madoka might like sugar a bit more than most people, but even she would be able to tell if it was too overwhelming.
