Who: Masumi Sera and OTA
Where: Kitchen
When: Imagination 4
What: Masumi’s struggling with her team’s monthly chore. Send help.
Warnings: N/A

Masumi has always put in the effort to do the chore assigned to Purple, but meal prep is proving to be a hurdle for her. While she’s not disastrously bad, and is trying to follow recipes, she’s also unsure and making mistakes due to her inexperience.

For example, she’s trying to make the honey seared chicken recipe, but has no idea how to tell when the chicken is cooked beyond ‘not pink’. She might need some help before she overcooks the meat.

Mami spends most of her time in the kitchen this month. This is her chore! She can handle it! She's a flurry of yellow and purple around the kitchen, managing several dishes at once.

She's in the process of gliding by when she smells Masumi's effort.

"Mm, the flavor's coming out! I think it's time to test?" she suggests.

Eight is ever a diligent worker and today is no exception. She is taking the work with intent and purpose, and while she has been taking the time to learn how to cook chicken and meat, she has started to get the hang of it.

She stops to look at Masumi, noting her hesitation more than the food mistakes. Her eyes lower to the work she is doing. "What troubles you?"

[That gets a good-natured laugh out of Eight.] "Well, it's a good thing for you to want to better yourself."

[She looks over at what she is doing and raises a finger to her mouth.] "Though you are certainly being ambitious for your first attempt..."

Alfredo had not quite given up on his time in the kitchen, though his skills were far from any master chef's; he'd only learn with more experience, right?

Staring at the oven, he asks, "Isn't there something we put in the chicken, to make sure it's cooked all the way through?"

Some sort of device... he'd been introduced to it at some point, he's sure of it, but he doesn't know where it is!

Danny liked to think of his own cooking skills as survival level. He picked up just enough to make his own dinner if needed. And also to fight off any food ghosts that the ectoplasm samples in the refigerator might have accidentally created.

...Fenton family dinners were sometimes very exciting.

Walking over, he catches sight of one of the other purples frowning over a recipe.

"Something wrong?"

"Eh, as long as its white all the way through it should be fine."

That was about the extent of his chicken cooking knowledge.

Itsuki is... probably not much help. She's about as good as Masumi herself; that is, she's functional but not very good. Honestly, she's spending equal time watching others and trying for herself, and is just a little too proud to ask for help on her own. So far, at least. At the moment, she's peering over Masumi's shoulder, attempting to make sense of the dish herself.

"This is pretty close to the end, right? This seems right - it smells really good - I just don't know how you'd check before it starts burning." She grimaces. "I wonder if there's a timer in here somewhere."
sunbloom: ([+T] I'm not sure...)

"That would be easiest, yes," Itsuki begins, "but then you can't serve that. So that doesn't work forever, and if it isn't done, will it still cook the same?" She gets math, and she's pretty sure it turns into a geometry problem then. Not a helpful one, either.
