Well that was Strange
Who: Little One and open!
Where: Cabin 1:C, games room, kitchen, carriage B
When: Bassoon day 4
What: Little One wakes up in a suitcase
Warnings: No specific ones to start but if anyone needs her dialect dropped please let me know! edited: Blood drinking in the Joss thread
Waking: Towards and into cabin 1:C
It was dark when she woke and she knew straight away that she was somewhere enclosed. Not her bed. Not even the makeshift bed she had made. Enclosed, small. Hands went out, probing. Not panicking. Not yet. There was no point until she had more information and no point even after. If she was trapped she was trapped. She would have to deal with that.
She hit solid walls on either side but as she reached above her head there was give and she pushed, swinging the lid open. She sat up and looked around. Luggage carriage. She could tell by the smell, the lingering smell of smoke. She clambered out of the suitcase and frowned on it. How had she got there?
Night time wanderings, a voice. The voice. Telling her she was needed in the control coach. Was that here? Then nothing. Until now.
Weird. She padded out of the luggage carriage, through the dressing carriage. It was full of spiderwebs. She wrinkled her nose. Had Peter gone crazy?
She is in her nightdress but she can see from the windows it is day time, or whatever passes for it here. So she heads to her room. She should get dressed. She presses her ticket to the screen and enters.
What's new? Carriage E
She had been on her way to get some food but this was a new carriage. One that had appeared when she was... Wherever she had been. She's trying not to think about the fact she had disappeared, it's weird. She entered the carriage and wrinkled her nose, what was this? She went over to one of the trunks and began looking through the boxes. Games. Board games. That must be it. She's heard of them.
She went through both floors, stopping to poke things or pick things up and read them. So many. How were there even so many games? Who had made them all? Why were they here?
Upstairs was even stranger, she picked up a large wooden block wondering what sort of game it was for. Building? Fighting?
Stranger still was the other side with the strange face masks. She picked one up and turned it around in her hands, examining it from all angles. What kind of game was this?
Disappearing is hungry work: Kitchen
Her explorations could only last too long before her stomach made it clear she hadn't eaten in a long time. She knows logically if she hadn't eaten in a whole week she wouldn't be alive so she must have... But she's still hungry.
She had read the information for this month. She doesn't even know what a Bassoon is, but Red team are to cook this month. That's her. She can cook. So she heads towards the kitchen to find something to eat.
There's fish, that's good. She knows what to do with fish and she finds some honey. Soon she is stood on tiptoes at a counter, heating a pan of oil and smearing honey onto a piece of fish.
Taking stock: Carriage B
After eating she went to one of the shop screens and bought some chocolate, some sweets and a bottle of purple drink.
She went to the normal carriage and found a table to clamber up onto. She leaned against the window, red hood pulled over her head, bare feet crossed in front of her, sweets spilled out on the table as she investigated them. She hadn't found one she didn't like yet honestly.
There's a lot to think about, where she had been, why she had been taken. She had missed a whole week and missed new people arriving. It makes her angry that she doesn't have any memories about it. Was she controlled in some way? How had she gotten off the train? Nothing made sense. She sighed and leaned her head back against the window.

"I did be being here for a long time. But I did be disappearing so I did be missing the new people arriving." She doesn't like that. It gives her a disadvantage. She hadn't seen all the new people on the platform so she knows nothing about them.
no subject
"You disappeared for a while? I wonder why that happened? Too bad you missed the new people, but I'm sure you'll meet them all sooner or later."
He considered her red hood. "You're Team Red? So is my father, Fëanor, and my brother Maglor. My eldest brother Maedhros arrived on the last platform, with me. He's Red Team as well."
no subject
She has no idea why she disappeared but he's right, she's sure she will meet everyone. There are only so many spaces on this train.
But. His father? He was an adult? Adults had fathers? She supposed... Peter was almost an adult and he had had parents once. But still.
Did that mean Lightning had a father? Tony? She guesses it must. She's never really thought about it before but that makes sense. If most children did then they probably kept them when they grew up. Also he had brothers. Two of them. "I do be knowing Fëanor and Maglor already."
Wait. Wait.
Families were complicated. But if this is Fëanor's son and also Maglor's brother than that means Maglor is also Fëanor's son. But Fëanor does not look old enough to have them as children.
Was it like how priests could hide their age? Perhaps. It was so strange to think of though. Also how had so many people from one family come here?
no subject
Oh yes, adults have fathers too!
"You have met Fëanor and Maglor already? That's good. I know they will be kind to you."
Elves age very, very slowly. It could be millennia before they actually look older than their adult sons and daughters. But Curufin also thinks it is a mystery, how so many members of his family could all show up here. Something like that happened in the world he lived in before he came here, but he never figured out how. How do these mysterious entities who snatch people into other worlds know anything about the people they grab? Or even find them, if they are in different places?

"They did be being very kind. Feanor did be giving me cake that he did be baking."
Which was the ultimate kindness in her eyes. Most people were nice to her here, it was strange but she wasn't complaining.
no subject
"I am pleased with my relatives. My father made a special effort to bake a cake and give you some? That is wonderful."
He will always be kind to her. He not only has a father, but he is a father, though he has not seen his son in a long time. He always was kind to children, but being a parent pushed him even further in that direction. He will nurture any child who seems to need it.
no subject
"I do no be knowing why he did be making the cake though, it did be being the middle of the night."
no subject
"My father is a creative, energetic man, and also very impulsive. If it occurred to him in the middle of the night that he wanted some cake, it would be just like him to hurry off to the kitchen to bake one. Besides, he likes doing things for other people. I'm sure he was pleased to have you to share it with."
no subject
"I did be being pleased he did be sharing it with me too." She grinned and tilted her head. "Do you be wanting a sweet?"
no subject
"If you're offering a sweet, I'll certainly accept. Thank you!" He grinned back at her.
no subject
And there was definitely plenty of choice.

She hadn't until she came to the train.

He hadn't even eaten chocolate until after he left his own world.

She hadn't known it came from a plant. She hadn't really thought about where it came from at all. But she had never heard of a cacao bean before so perhaps they hadn't existed in her world at all.
Or perhaps they just hadn't gotten to Gauig.

This child is a charming and kindly person and he will always wish good things for her.

Maybe she should offer to share things more often, if it resulted in others sharing back. Then again maybe it was just the people on this train, they were so strange and other worldly that everything she knew about people was proving to be slightly off and wrong.

He'd have agreed with her about the people on the train, even though they probably saw him as strange and otherworldly. The kindness he had been met with here was unusual; he had not had to knock himself out to make contact with them. They had welcomed him without difficulty and allowed him to become part of their lives.
