Some closed, some open; dealing with the pokemon aftermath
Who: Eva and Others; Eva and you!
Where: Gym, then Standard, then Spa.
When: Imagination 15
What: Dealing with her pokemon; then resting.
Warnings: Frank talk of pokemon injuries within threads.
Closed to Willow, Koumyou, Nita, Siebren and Zeta (and Prinnies)
Morning, Gym Car; To Calm a Fairy.
(reply as a single thread please!)
Eva'd already dealt with Dancer; a few berries later she was healthy and whole. And then she and Nova had skedaddled to elsewhere to do bird things. Not that it mattered much and Eva couldn't fault Dancer for wanting time with a fellow bird. At least Willow had stuck around to help with Princess. Eva had also asked both Nita and Siebren to help with the needed shielding to keep them safe, Koumyou to be here given Princess did seem to like the priest, and Zetta for his Prinnies.
Still, her grip on the fairy-type's pokeball is white knuckled and tense.
"Shields and chew things in and up first," Eva says and forced her hand to loosen around Princess's pokeball as she exhales.
Myths but she's never liked dealing with this side of being a Trainer. But, it had to be done, one way or the other.
Semi-Open (Starting with Seto, Jessie, and Webmind)
Late morning, Gym Car; Crushed Porygon2
(Please reply as a single thread or you will be ignored! This is to keep things tidy and streamlined. If you jump in alongside the main three, don't worry too much about missing a round as there's a decent amount that needs doing.)
"Of course when you need it there's no repair shops or MPCs," the trainer mutters as she stares at the offline porygon2 sitting on the floor, trying to keep her breathing level and emotions in check while Princess lurks at her side, a silent, protective pink shadow.
She'd spent eight and a half million yen on Lele, only for the Porygon to go and get somewhat crushed in its first real battle. Oh well and while she could order in a replacement body, not only do they not have the tech to do the transfer, this body and frame are salvageable.
And that's what matters. It won't be easy, but they can do it.
"Right," she says to Seto, Jessie, and Webmind. They're the initial three she'd rounded up to help with this mammoth task, but she's well aware they'll likely end up with more; it's a big task after all. "The warped metal of the shell will have to come off before we can get to its internals and get them fixed."
It's matter of fact, if only because she might start crying over the pokemon if she's not.
Open; Dented but Fixed
Standard Car - Late Afternoon
Eventually, an afternoon of help and hard work results in Lele looking... better. Not the best or factory new by any means, but no longer like it briefly tango'd with a trash compactor.
It's better than nothing, so Eva'll take it as she retreats to the Standard Car, Princess at her heels, a silent pink shadow. Ideally, she'd have access to a Pokemon Centre to iron out the remaining dents, but from afar the thing looks like it should. Mostly.
That's all that matters to Eva as she works on polishing it to a shine with a critical eye and she's not afraid to flag down other passengers. "What'd you think?"
Open - Calmish Fairy, tired trainer.
Evening, Spa Car
After all that's been done today, Eva is more than happy to soak in the spa and try not to fall sleep in it if she's honest. It's been a day and she is more than a little tired and drained, but her pokemon are healed or fixed.
And mostly calm. Mostly, though it seems her silent pink shadow is, for now, content to be half in/half out of the water.

He gazed at Eva's white-knuckled grip on the ball, until her hand relaxed a little out of necessity.
"What will happen, will happen," the priest said, simply. "I'm ready when needed."
no subject
He deploys the experimental barrier, the large blue hard light rectangle coming to a stop several feet in front of the group. "Barrier deployed. It will stop projectiles, but it will not prevent anyone from walking through." It is both an explanation and a word of warning: if Princess comes in for a physical attack, the barrier will not stop him.

Instead of fetching a ball for Princess to chew on, she'd had the peridexis make another construct, as a callback to their training fight so many months ago: it looked somewhat like a Red Cross symbol, but pink.
The air around her glowed a soft blue, shield ready to be redirected anywhere needed.
"I'm ready when you all are," she said.

"Right. I'm ready for this, and ready to take whatever he throws at me. Let him out and let's get him healed."
CW: Pokemon injury
Another steading breath, and then she steps forward, extends her arm -careful not to lock her elbow. The last thing wants is to add another injury to her list. And then, she taps the central button and there's noticeable kickback from the energy beam released as Princess materialises behind the shielding.
Eva steps back, hand over her mouth as bile rises. "The Four..."
Up close up, he looks feral. Wild and untamed and pure power- and the pokemon knows it. Fur bristles, eyes dark, dangerous as he rears up, wing -the good one, at least- flared for balance as he starts to ready another moonblast. The other one is useless and blood drips down to stain the pink fur around his shoulder red - red to match the rest of him, as it a appears it wasn't just the rifle that got him, but a number of bullets grazed him too.
As far as Princess knows, he's still in battle. He's injured, his trainer stinks of death and he's hurt.
Re: CW: Pokemon injury
Everyone who lives is covered in blood, one way or another.
Even cute fuzzy animals.
If that's an attack the pokemon is readying -- and he hasn't seen Princess attack before, so he really doesn't know for sure -- well. He's not worried; others are on shield duty. If anyone falters, he has his own barriers ready to go.
And Eva had said something about 'chew things', right? Makes sense, given how feral Princess is looking right now.
Koumyou, though, is patient. He'll wait right here until Eva signals that he's up, and just silently observe until then.
no subject
"Steady," he says to Eva. Princess will need her more than anyone else at the end of this.
no subject
With a tiny motion, she deploys the wizardry-chew-toy, putting it within his range.
It won't offer too much in the way of resistance, but if he bites it it should be satisfying.
Hopefully. If he registers it at all...

At least the Prinnies were throwing themselves into the work. Literally, as the three of them leaped in, fins spread wide to clamp down on Princess. Prinnypile Spectacular Restraint, dood!
no subject
"Keep him as still as possible, DON'T let him go!" She barks to the prinnies, then softens her voice before speaking to Princess as calmly and soothingly as she can like she's done to feral beasts back home. "Princess... It will be alright, I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to help you and heal those injuries." Softness before any forced action, she doesn't want to piss him off further.
She shows her hands, now emitting a warm glow and soft tendrils of light creeping very slowly towards the clefairy as she gives a sympathetic look to him. If he hits her with the blast, she can take it and won't hold it against him.
no subject
The Prinnypile Spectacular Restraint pile does its job in pinning the feral fluff... for now, at least. Though, that sure is a rather spectacularly low growl/snarl from the fairy. He does not like being pinned at all, and it's lucky Willow's distracted him with the healing tendrils. Or is it, given the sparkling icy breath he lets loose at Willow/the Prinnies. There's a chance that one of the Prinnies, at least, will be Frozen as they're dusted with ice.
Eva, for her part, is watching, pale and silent. She could speak, could try and get Princess to 'Rest' in an attempt to make this easier, but she also doesn't trust her voice to not make this worse.
no subject
It seems to the priest this is his cue. So he gets close, too, easing himself down to sit seiza on the floor. Definitely close enough to be in danger, but, as per usual, the priest doesn't seem to care.
"Who's the fuzziest fluffy boy on the whole train?!"
That's right, he's going to baby-talk the enraged pokemon. Just try and stop him. Let's see if Princess likes him half as much as Eva seems to think he does!
no subject
He closes his palm and pulls his arm back smoothly, leaving the barrier intact - then he gapes in surprises as the priest simply bypasses his barrier and sits near Princess, talking to him like one would to an errant cat. For a moment, Siebren considers moving his shield to extend protection-
But he is here to protect Eva, and as many other people as he is able, and he will not sacrifice one for the other. If the priest wishes to put himself in danger, then he will need to face the consequences of that act. It is a brutal thought, but they are in a dangerous situation and decisions must be made.
no subject
/We're here, we are allies. Let it out, you are in no danger, Eva is in no danger./

The other two were, unfortunately, not contributing to calming Princess down in any way, shape, or form. One was clinging to his back and vigorously slapping him with a fish skeleton, while the other had gone for the classic chokehold-noogie combination favored by elder brothers everywhere. They totally will subdue this raving beast, dood!
no subject
He's jumped by the Princess and that only sets the pokemon off as his eyes take on a pink glow as Telekinesis comes into play for at least one of the Prinnies. It won't do much more than lift it into the air several feet, but all that means is the other one will have a time trying to hold the now struggling, snarling pokemon still long enough for Willow to heal him.
no subject
Heeeeere comes Koumyou, leaning forward past his knees in seiza, one hand on the floor to hold himself up. He snaps the bony fingers of his other hand perilously close to Princess' snarling face. "Hey!"
Risking drawing the pokemon's ire really isn't a big concern.
"Your person asked us to help you, so that you can help her. You want to help her, right?"
no subject
After a moment or two of observation - namely to make sure Koumyou doesn't get mauled in the interim - Siebren reaches over and places a hand on Eva's shoulder, attempting to meet her gaze. They can distract Princess and heal him, but eventually she will have to calm him, and she will need to be prepared when that time comes.
no subject
/But she'll get more once she's sure you're healed and safe./
She knows Koumyou can shield himself, so instead she quickly forms another 'toy' - in the shape of a Prinny - for Princess to grab.
no subject
How that worked inside a train car was best not addressed.
The last Prinny had, by now, somehow worked itself upside down, and was ineffectually attempting to choke out Princess while its peg-legs kicked in the air. "You're gonna FALL to Prinamania, dood-brother!" it growled. "Oh yeaaaaaah!"
no subject
He opens his mouth and starts to Sing.
Between that, cartoon logic, and Siebren's hand on her shoulder, she's brought back to the here and now. As does meeting his gaze for all of two seconds because they don't know how to deal with this-
"Ears! Block your Ears!" She's already jamming fingers into ears as the air shimmers with purple energy. It's not even a directed Sing, more of a general one that emanates from the pokemon and lasts for five seconds. But that doesn't mean anyone who hears it isn't a risk of a sudden nap.
no subject
Close, like he is, he still sways just a little bit where he's sitting, but he stays awake.
no subject
He yanks his hand back and covers his ears, gaze snapping back to Princess. There is little else he can do now but wait to see what develops.
Sorry for the wait!
But five seconds? That's easy to wait out.

Late Morning (Semi-Open)
"We should try and remove the metal in as close to one piece as possible; reshaping it can come later, but fragments will get in the way."
He kneels, tentatively placing his own metal hand on a particularly nasty contusion.
"What tools did you all have in mind for the job?"
no subject
"But before we start...are there any points where the internals are especially close to the surface, that we need to avoid damaging?"
He's never done a repair job like this before. What a mess...it's hard to know what to feel.
no subject
Or... did, and the more she looks at her very expensive hardware, the more her face crumbles until hands are balled into fists. Fuck but what she wouldn't give to get a hold of a battle program or even limited self-learning thing and upload it into Lele.
But that can come later and she exhales, long and slow. "Not that I know of, though we might have to be careful anyway, given... things."
That said, she picks up the nearest took and... has no idea where to even start.
no subject
Seto can see the seams of the panels if he leans close. There's a perfect tool for prying, and if he just avoids the most damaged area....a gentle touch to start, but it's on tight.
"We might have to work together on this one. If we all pull in the same direction, it should distribute the force evenly."
LATE AFTERNOON!
[Katsuya for his part was just coming back from a visit to the other end of the train. It's good for pokemon exercise!
...Even if one of them is just rolling. But at least that wool grew back right? As it is, he pauses with what he's been doing along the way- namely, working that clean shorn wool with his drop spindle like it's some kind of yo-yo- and blinks at Lele.] Tha'...
...'s tha' a porygon..? [It's got to be a porygon right? Or well. Porygon-2??]
Dang...didn' kno' they were any colour other than blue 'r pink, an' that includes shiny ones... [A green porygon is a heck of a stretch from the standard bright pink with blue, not to mention the equally blinding navy and ash-blue...]
Re: LATE AFTERNOON!
They don't do custom builds of the things in your world? Huh. Well, Lele's pure custom build down to the specs and AI its running. I mean, we've got pink and blue and the shiny, but those are more... the most basic of builds.
Which the train tried to do to Lele.
[HUFF.]
no subject
I mean, I know th' dex says they're made of pure computer code 'n all, but they c'n still make eggs if y' match 'm with a ditto an' such far as I heard...honestly I'd bet tha's where most 'f 'm come from these days...
[Weird as it seems for something apparently made of nothing but code to be able to breed with anything, it Is in the mineral egg group, or so the rotom dex said before. Put a ditto in the area, and that means more porygon. They have to keep those foreign game corners stocked somehow right...]
Never heard of uh...havin' one 'built', 'f I'm honest.
no subject
No, really, she's confused. 'Ditto' sounds likes some weird Eselian name for a pokemon.
no subject
He just had to end up in an 'english' speaking pokemon world before coming here, didn't he!!! This would've been so much easier if he'd hopped in directly from Japan!]
no subject
[She's shaking her head by the end of it.]
i'm so glad i triple checked on this so that they could have this confusion moment sobs
Huh...makes sense f'r th' 'God' sorts but...
[Katsuya for his part is just shrugging. The 'gods' are one thing, but porygon isn't exactly the only 'man-made' pokemon as far as he knows, and he definitely knows it can breed.] Weird. But yeah, they c'n breed. Got an' egg group 'n everythin', ahhh...
[Oh hold on he should have- The blond digs through his pocket for a minute, pulling out an Alolan rotom-dex. A few shakes, and it blinks to life.]
ZRRT!! Hey!!
Yeah yeah, wakey wakey, pull up 'Porygon' will yeh?
Zrrt! Only if I get to sleep right after!!
[The blond frowns, and ultimately shrugs.] ...We'll see. Anyway, go!
[The rotom-dex, hovering before them, soon pulls it up. Katsuya points to a section on the info.] Tadahhh. There. 'S in th' Mineral group.
[....Which means it...can indeed breed with the right pokemon in his version of the world it seems! Which in this case is just Ditto, not unlike fellows such as magnemite and others in the group.] Guess tha's just another thing off b'tween our worlds huh... [Eh, not like they didn't know things weren't lining up after looking at the cartoon horse next to the winged chinchilla....]
Breaking her brain is so much fun.
Eh, she can ask later, or just order in a book about the various designs the thing has.
The more interesting part is the data being displayed---]
How.... How is that even-? You said they're data in your world, right? Or at they like the Digimon here? able to somehow exist in the Real World...?
there there eva...
[If a pokemon can enter the PC as data, then he figures it makes sense for Porygon to represent the reverse somehow. Even if it's...weird.] Pokemon can be shit like livin' trashbags after all. Ain't a huge stretch t' figure a bunch 'f data could pull itself t'gether an' make a whole species after it's outta people's hands!
[No one said data couldn't just literally make a mind of its own after being gathered up through science...not when the world has sentient floating gears and magnets anyway...]
Re: there there eva...
[Maybe? She... doesn't actually remember how the SSN works outside the fact that it does, so for all she knows, it could be! Anyway, more important things-
Especially given she has a good idea re: 'living trashbags' and Eva's not that impressed at all!]
Aihara-san would have your head for insulting her dustdas like that.
[Her voice is flatter than flat.]
no subject
...'Sides, I'm serious, 's righ' in th' dex entry! "Created fr'm trash an' chemical waste"! [Katsuya insists. It's not his fault that trubbish really are born of the sketchy harmony of garbage and chemical concoctions!]
Anyway, I'd have t' look int' it abou' th' data, but I'm pr'tty sure Porygon's legit jus' tha'. [He's no Professor, but at the very least, porygon being data is definitely a thing he can confirm there.]
no subject
[She means it, too. As interesting as this is, there comes a point she needs to accept it as face value.
That said, she sighs and pulls out her 'dex, and then pulls up a hologram image.]
A dustdas commonly referred to as walking trashbags, primarily because of the juvenile form. They're not, though, but...
no subject
[Oh hey, and there's Eva's dex... ...huh.] Huh! Dang, lil guy looks almos' like some sorta frog...
[Rotom meanwhile, has since pulled up trubbish on the screen. It's looking decidedly more living-trashbag, especially when Rotom moves to hold the image beside the hologram Eva's pulled up.]
Man, th' differences really are a hell of a thing huh...
no subject
[She shrugs a little.]
Anyway, I'm sure there's got to be some from my world that you'd mistake as coming from yours.
no subject
[He frowns though.] Hmn, can't really compare an' contrast on it though, not easily anyway- we uh...th' world I'm from doesn't exactly have a handy lil' 'pokedex' of th' world's animals.
no subject
[She nods then grins.] Well, technically we could? Our 'dexs at least, and Lele's holograms, though it can't display every 'mon in the 'dex....
no subject
[But that aside, he frowns a bit sadly.]
Yeah, tha' works out fine with Pokemon, but I'm talkin' abou' anythin' from where I was born an' raised...
[He supposes if they really wanted to compare and contrast Eva's pokemon with animals from his homeworld, he could try for an encyclopedia, but that's not really the same...]
no subject
[The idea that his world might not have such technology never even crosses her mind once. The same with the fact he probably hasn't a clue about what she means.]
