Someway through the 18th of Imagination, an announcement for the already spoken for meeting is shared by the ICPs, giving people twenty minutes to come to the upper Music Carriage for the gathering. While the chairs mostly face the stage, they’ve been curved to allow people to face their fellow passengers too, so not to put the sole focus in one place.

This is a meeting for all, and everyone will have their chance to speak and be heard.

The promised snack table sits to one side of the room, and on the stage, the white board from the standard coach has been brought in, written on it bullet points for the planned topics. To assist in the flow of discussion, familiar moderators stand in place to help jot things down, carry conversation further should one idea end while another is ready to begin, among other such administrative tasks to organize the forum. Plus, the ICP’s are in constant use all throughout the meeting, with basic announcements about what’s being discussed now, and how more people are still welcome to catch up to the Music Car if they hear something that interests them.

Grab a plate, settle down, and let’s get to work.

[And she believes it with every fibre of her being. As it is, she sits near him, and grins briefly at the pokemon on his lap. A pokemon who doesn't seem that inclined at all to move.

But as soon as the amusement comes, it's gone and she's serious again.]

It shouldn't have happened, yet battles like that are chaotic and we can't reasonably expect Leaders to know where everyone is all the time. But... But. To be ok with death just because we revive here? No. Never. Never never never. That's the kind of view that ends up with us - with Leaders- being lazy and taking risks we shouldn't.

Revival isn't something that should ever be taken for granted. [She swallows then looks him dead in the eyes.] If I ever take it for granted or treat it as a given, punch me. You have my permission.

[And he'd get the feeling that permission is A Very Big Deal to Eva- to her culture.]

[ He isn't really looking for validation on that point, he believes he is right even if not everyone agrees with him. He's okay with that. He nods in agreement. ]

I know it's unrealistic, and idealistic, but it's the kind of thing I would strive for anyway. I have a deal with my generals, no casualties. Not on our side, not on the other side either. It doesn't matter how unrealistic it is, that's what we're aiming for.

Just because we're going to fix Tsukasa doesn't mean he didn't die...it doesn't mean I didn't fail him. We're just lucky. [ He breathes. ] If I ever said anything like that, I'd be ousted before I could blink. That's where I'm coming from.

[ He does pause and then laugh lightly, with a tiny smirk. ] Oh sure, but what's that going to do for you? [ He raised his fist and lightly bumped her shoulder with it. ] At least get someone strong to punch you.

But no, I've never thought you'd find that to be acceptable. That also wasn't what I meant. I meant everything I said...I'm not sorry about any of it.

True - and good. I can't say much on what you said then, but it was heard. [She's thoroughly honest about that; after al; it's a Leader's Duty to listen to everyone.]

What I can speak on is that you are going to fix him and you will. [It's an optimist's conviction that's for sure, but it's backed by belief and the willpower that, Fate willing, she'd pour into making happen for him.] I've faith in that. Sure luck plays a part, but you also play a part. You want no casualties? You'll do your damnest to make it happen - have others believe it's possible. I'm a realist, yet... my optimist wants to believe we can make it happen here, too.

[Gods, she'd give anything to make it so they never faced another casualty again. Yet at the end of the day, she's also a realist enough to know that that optimism alone won't make it happen.

the light punch gets a smirk, though.] Never said it had to be physical. I can teach you how to make full use of the bond if you want. Shielding -I did it because I needed to be impartial and I can't do that if I've got a live emotional feed; but doing it without warning was thoroughly not fair and I own that. [There's a deep, formal bow (how she does it sitting is anyone's clue)] I can also teach psychic knocks and anchors, curling around it. I should have offered sooner, yet...

[She's still coming to terms with what she takes for granted isn't the same for others.]

So I hear, anyway, Gen wouldn't lie to me. [ He nods and exhales. ] I want that here to. Reincarnation being fascinating aside, I don't want people to suffer death. They still feel all of that.

[ He waves his hand. ] Don't worry about it. The bond is spoiling me. I can deal with people, uh, enough even if I can't tell what they're thinking. [ He pauses. ]

Well, okay, I can say what I think and let the Mentalist clean up after me well enough. [ A wry smile, he owns that so much. ]

I don't really know what any of that means, but shielding might be useful. Not that I think I need to, but you never know.

[She nods, yet she doesn't say anything else on that topic.]

Even so, you deserved an explanation. [And that is that in her mind.]

Shielding is pretty much picturing a wall around your mind and you can make it as heavy or as light as you want. Knocking... [She takes the time to gather herself, and a few seconds later, Senku'll get the echos of a 'knocking' sensation.]

That was the lightest tap possible and I refuse to do any harder right now. Ask as soon as you feel that from Orion - at least and I will. She means it. [She thoroughly means it.]

Anchoring is basically using the bonds you have as a fixed point, while curling around one is seeking the closeness yet not overwhelming the other end.

[ That's a strange feeling, and he definitely hasn't felt it from Orion yet, but Orion was a little baby. That was probably to be expected. ]

Oh. I think I've done anchoring by accident then. I don't usually look for you too much, but sometimes I do and I sort of...feel where you are and kind of follow it.

[Eva giggles a little.] That's one part of it, yeah and it can be really useful in emergencies. But that's basically all we can do with it because we're not psychics. Now, if I was say, a seer, it'd be like a boat anchor to keep me from getting lost in visions.

[As far as she understands it, at least.]

Huh...Yeah I don't think I'm going to be psychic anytime soon. Plus in my world that doesn't exist.

[ She probably doesn't want a lecture about that. ]

[For a second, there's just Utter Confusion from her before she blinks. Twice then shakes her head with a small laugh.] I don't think I'm ever going to get used to psychic phenomena not being a thing on other worlds.

[Kind of like how magic-magic wasn't a thing until she came here, now she thinks about it.]

Shielding's... basically like building protection around the mind, or part of it, and there's various levels to it.

The closest thing we have to a psychic is Gen, and he's definitely not don't let him tell you otherwise. [ He snorts lightly. ] That's the kind of thing people in his profession did. Not him, I don't think.

Then again, he wrote a really trashy book. [ That he totally did not read, nope. ]

It's in the name, yeah. [ He nods a little bit. ] I think I get the intent, at least.

I don't plan to and now I know he does magic, it'd be harder to fool me if I wasn't looking to be. [Honest, that. Now, if she's looking to be fooled or entertained, then it's a whole 'nother story indeed.]

[She was going to give him a bit of homework re the shielding, but- colour her interested.] Trashy book?

Yeah, terrible thing. I had a classmate that read it. It was something about magic psychology or some nonsense.

[ He waves his hand a little bit. ]

Questions like who would you sacrifce, you, your best friend or your boyfriend or girlfriend. I swear, he probably made a stupid amount of money full of that trashy crap.

[ He pauses. ]

Oh don't worry. I've told him this to his face.

That question, at least, can be really telling depending on context, though yeah, books like that can make a stupid amount of money easily. Depends how well they're written...

[[There's a shrug and then a snort as she shakes her head in disbelief.] Um. Did you use a bit of tact at least?

[She's betting 'no'.]

[ Her bet is correct. ]

When we met I said he was the hack magician that wrote that trashy book.

[ Nope. No tact at all. At least Gen knows what he's getting into. ]

[Just. Face in hands for a bit.]

How, in the name of all that is sacred to the Four, did you become friends??

[Technically this is rhetorical, but--]

I think he finds me amusing.

[ He shrugs a little bit. ]

Besides, I was the cool one with electricity, that's pretty enticing.

[Just. Face in hands again as she tries and fails to think how to explain just how many ways that statement can be taken or even interpreted.]

... If I didn't know you two, I'd say he only likes you because of the science.

Maybe he did then. [ He quirks a smile. ]

I don't think so. He told me later after his huge birthday surprise that he was already excited to meet me when he found out I knew the date.

[Ok there's a laugh there.]

Fair enough there, given everything I know about your world. Plus with electricity, that's actually a lot of points in your favour.

I had electricity and promised him cola. I'm sneaky like that. It's alright, he made me an observatory.

We've been trading gifts for years. [ He hums a little bit. ]

I already know what he wants next, a proper futon, presumably when we get back.

An observatory? No, forget I asked as you'd tell me it was built in like, two weeks or something.

[She's... not really thinking a simple one, here.]

Anyway, I'd say make a futon here, but the bunks aren't exactly friendly to them, and then everyone who knows what one is'd want one. [Herself included.] Plus, we don't have the space to really air them out properly.

I was only gone from the village for three days. They built an addition to Chrome's shed so it had a second floor with a roof that opens by crank and a telescope. [ He has the fondest smile. It was a thoughtful, touching gift. ]

I was worried for a minute there that they'd figured out I'd make a good sacrifice but no, he told me that he's liked me since before we met, and he found the date I'd carved into a tree.

[ This might be sounding an awful lot like a confession. Really. ]

Ah, that's why he wants a proper futon instead of sleeping on skins on the floor. He likes the bed too much.

When you have time, can you draw me a picture? I... I'm having a hard time visualizing what you mean, Senku. [Wait- what-?] Ok, I have to ask, why would you think you'd make a good human sacrifice? Isn't that counter-intuitive?

[Far as she can tell, anyway.]

That said, I can't say I blame him re: the futon. They're the best invention since sliced rice cake.

Yeah, sure, not a problem.

[ He tilts his head. ]

I mean tactically. The threat Tsukasa was posing to the village was because I was there, he wanted me dead, so if they turned me over to Tsukasa to secure their safety, it's a perfectly logical, tactical move.

[ But, damn if that wouldn't hurt. ]

Yeah, yeah, I'll figure out how to make him one anyway.

Ah... you have a point there, even if it is a morbid one.

[Yet... that doesn't truly mean the village would have been safe even with Senku's death, but given how sleepy she's starting to get, probably a topic for a later time. Maybe.]
