(open) my heart is about to jump out of my chest
Who: Inigo and you!
Where: The upper level of the music carriage
When: Imagination 19/20
What: Inigo thinks he's having a private dance practice moment. Thinks.
Warnings: Probably nothing, will edit if necessary.

(open to all)
If you happen to pass through the music carriage today - as people usually do when moving through the train - you may notice something. Either you can hear music coming from the upper floor, drawing your attention, or if you have a good heart, you may instead see an odd little creature sitting on the stairs, swaying from side to side along with the music.
If you decide to go upstairs, the creature certainly won't do anything to stop you, if you can see it. In fact, it seems to happily bounce right after you, following you up.
And upstairs the carriage is mostly empty - except for Inigo standing on the stage, dancing. The music is even more audible now. Inigo is dancing along to the beat, eyes closed, yet he doesn't seem to even come close to falling off the stage, as if he knows exactly where to place his feet. Which he probably does, considering his movements seem to be very fluid, practiced. It's a pretty captivating dance, honestly, and it's easy to just keep watching it without realising the time is passing until the song stops.
It's then that Inigo stops moving too, finally opening his eyes..
.. and therefore finally noticing that he's not alone. He lets out an absolute shriek, staring you straight in the eyes, before his foot slips and he finally ends up falling on the stage.
Temporary elegance gone. There is only a miserable little pile of Inigo on the stage now.
(closed to taiki)
Okay, okay. Maybe he just needs to get used to dancing in front of people. He danced in front of Tidus before, and that was only.. only mildly mortifying, so maybe that's what he should do. Make sure to dance in front of people he feels a bit more comfortable with.
Hence why Inigo gently dragged (read: made puppy eyes at until he gave in) Taiki along here. He said it was fine if Taiki would just sit there and paint or something, do whatever he feels like doing! It's just that Inigo has to get used to having an audience, okay! And Taiki is just about the most gentle person Inigo can think of for this sort of thing.
But thinking of that is one thing. The actual execution of this plan is another thing.
Which is why they're both here now, but rather than dancing, Inigo just sitting there on the stage, slumped over, groaning. His face is buried in his hands.
"Why is it so hard to get started when someone else is looking.." Is he whining to Taiki? To himself? Who knows.

That's a whole different story. By the time he's able to pick himself back up a bit and sit up enough to look at Kitty while the other is rushing over, he looks so flustered, his entire face red.
"I.. I'm fine, I just.."
Ugh. Ugh, he's so embarrassed. Kitty saw all of that just now, didn't she? She must be thinking about how lame he is right about now!
Unable to say anything more, Inigo just lets his face sink into both of his hands.
no subject
"Sorry," she says softly, giving him a reassuring smile even though he isn't looking at her right now. "I didn't mean to...I mean, I was just passing by when I heard the music, and when I saw you dancing, I couldn't help watching. You were just so...cool."
no subject
But then he raises his head a bit. Still with his hands in front of his face, but they slowly part a bit when he's fully looking up at her, eyes peeking out from behind fingers.
"C-Cool..?"
He repeats the word as if he can't even believe what he's hearing. Maybe he's having auditory hallucinations.
"You mean that..?"

Especially since Inigo has no idea how to deal with praise. Dealing with rejection sucks, sure, but at least he's used to that. Not to this! Inigo just stares at her like he doesn't even know what to say other than the words that just left his mouth, even though he's trying.
"I mean, I just.. it was just dancing, you know! Anyone can do it!" He waves his hand a little, as if to wave the compliments away that way.

"Uh, I guess it.. depends.."
It's a rather avoidant answer, but he's trying. It just takes him a moment to gather his courage to try again.
"I haven't danced much here on the train, since.. um, there's so little privacy." As evidenced today. "B-But I've danced a lot before back home, in the past. My mother taught me."
no subject
"Oh yeah? So do a lot of people where you're from dance like that?"
no subject
Hence why he learned from her.
".. It's usually not a thing for guys though." Which may explain a bit of how flustered he seems about all of this.
no subject
"Well, that's too bad. I don't see why guys don't learn to dance."
She's quiet for a moment, thinking over her next words. Then she smiles, somewhat sheepishly but mostly hopeful.
"Can...Can you do it again? Would you mind? I'd love to see the dance up close."
no subject
It's a good question. Because Inigo would have a real hard time denying his friends much, especially one who has been there for him as often as Kitty. But on the other hand, he's so shy about other people watching him dance, no matter who it is. So super shy.
Hence why he looks super hesitant as she asks it. But after clearing his throat, he manages to raise his gaze enough to look at her again.
"W-Well, I.. I could try. But please be patient with me, I'm.. really not all that good at dancing when other people are watching me.."
no subject
"Sure...if you're too uncomfortable, though, you really don't have to. I don't mind if you say no."
Even if she was a touch disappointed, she doesn't want to push him.
no subject
Because she's nice. And not pushy at all. But that's exactly why he wants to do it - because she's so nice to him, and this is the least he could do to pay her back for it.
"I.. I want to do it. I just need to get over myself." He shakes his head, his cheeks still pink. "I've always been so stupidly shy about this sort of thing, which I know is incredibly ridiculous."
Especially since Inigo is a warrior! He's spent years fighting in the zombie apocalypse! And yet this is what reduces him to a blushy mess?
no subject
She thinks for a moment, then asks, "Would it be easier if you were teaching me the steps? Then I can watch you dancing while learning?"
no subject
"Maaaaybe..?" And if that goldfish mouth just now wasn't enough to show his uncertainty, then this just might. The way he says it, like he's still thinking even as the word already comes out of his mouth.
Inigo sucks in a breath, trying to get himself together over here.
"B-But I suppose the least I can do is try..! I.. If you want to learn, that is."
no subject
As fun as it would be to learn, she can see that he isn't entirely sold on the idea.
no subject
Since he's so shy.
"B-But I definitely want to try all the same. Especially since.. I don't know, maybe dancing may be a good thing to do here on the train for anyone? It's a good way to get rid of stress.." And stress is exactly what tends to build up in situations where you've been kidnapped by an at least semi-sentient train, huh.

.. though he is thinking for a moment.
"Maybe it's better to start on that some other time then? You know, so I have time to prepare.." You'd think he has to prepare the instructions, but no, he just has to prepare his heart. From the inevitable shyness. Go figure.
