Birthday Prep! (OTA except Senku)

Setting up food!

Plenty of people have offered to bring a number of treats - cookies, savory dishes, snacks ... Gen was placing a half-sheet cake, decorated with planets and with 'Happy Birthday Senku' written in frosting on the table. He looked quite pleased with himself, and would help lend a hand with other food.

There were roughly a hundred origami stars to fold, which Gen would spend most of his time doing, especially if he didn't have any help. But after, he'd be stringing them up all around the dining car, creating an effect like a starry sky from the ceiling.

Setting up party favors!

Then, of course, there were paper flower crowns to fold. Gen had no idea how many people would end up coming, so he wanted a fair number - any extras could sit in the Arms Band or up his sleeves as part of a surprise to spring on people later. You never knew when you needed a paper flower crown!

Setting up the escape room!

This is really what Gen hoped he'd get the most help with. He only had so many math tricks up his sleeve, and he was very certain that Senku knew them all already. At least Nita would be lending a hand! Otherwise, Gen was sure any room he'd make, Senku would solve in minutes.

BIRTHDAY PARTY

Greetings!

Gen would greet the newcomer with a bright smile and an origami flower crown - placed right on their head! He'd direct them to the food, and let them know of the escape room upstairs. Have a lovely time!

Food!

Cake! Cookies! Popcorn! There's some spicy, savory food that's been made by other passengers, too. But hey, at least take a slice of cake. That's what this party's all about!

Escape Room!

Featuring math, puns, and clever little questions fellow Voidtrain passengers could come up with. Of course, anyone can enter and leave as they'd like, but perhaps if they look particularly stuck on a problem, another person could help them out?

Birthday Boy!

Somewhere in this mess, Senku would be available to chat with. Probably. He's not really expecting a party, or gifts, or even a kind thank you - but all would be appreciated.

He shrugs, "Probably close enough. Gives people an excuse to party anyway." He can't say he has seen very many parties for birthdays while on the train. But then again he probably wasn't invited to them. Not a big deal overall.

"I wonder if I even get any older." Considering he actually is dead on his world.

"I don't see why you wouldn't eventually. I don't know how time works for you versus the train or anything." Senku mused.

He didn't know Xue Yang was dead, so he couldn't consider that as a factor.

"I guess we will see. Perhaps I do still get older while I am here. Maybe time hasn't really stopped for me here even if it has at home."

He's not too concerned with it either way. If he doesn't get any older then is that really so bad?

"Only one way to find out. Although, apparently time is still passing at home." Senku commented. "Vexing as that is, that's a problem for the future apparently."

"Time won't pass for me back home. If I go back I am dead." He doesn't sound too bothered by this fact. He's already accepted it and it's part of why he just keeps on doing whatever he wants while he is here. Might as well enjoy things while he can .

"Ah, that's not the first time I've heard that." Senku commented, just as a mild thought.

"Then you aren't missing out on anything there at least."

"I don't think the world really would have cared if I wasn't there when it kept going anyway." Xue Yang was a troublemaker and theirs was a turbulent world. One less troublemaker probably was better for it.

"But now I just get to enjoy what I've got here without any concerns about what is happening at home.."

"I wouldn't be concerned if I didn't have a ton of responsibilities." Senku admitted. "Probably. And while I have faith in my generals, it doesn't mean I'm comfortable up and disappearing on them. I don't think anything will fall apart mind you."

"I don't tend to believe what the train wants to tell us anyway. How can we really trust anything it says without proof?" So even if it says time continues, no one has left and come back to say that it is true.

"Yeah." Senku agreed with a bit of a nod. "I agree with you. I accept what it says with healthy skepticism."

He shook his head a little bit. "A lot of people trust everything the train tells them, at least, it seems to me."

"Those are the ones that will be in the most trouble. Being too trusting is dangerous and probably exactly what it wants." Xue Yang is going to hold onto his distrusting nature and skepticism.

"I expect that's exactly what it wants." Senku hummed. "Gen talks a lot about the psychology crap. Making us work for rewards, giving us just enough so we don't complain, but not everything we want."

"We are just pawns it uses to clean up other people's messes. And it gives us things to make it seem like it is a decent place to be and not question it." but Xue Yang hasn't trusted that even one bit since the moment he got on the train. But he doesn't have much choice either. He's stuck here and it is his only chance to continue living so he will deal with it.

"Frustrating." Senku agreed with a bit of a nod. "I agree with you, we're trapped at the moment, forced into what we're doing. Our only option might be to refuse but...I don't know that you could get everyone to agree."

"Not likely. But this is a heavy topic for a birthday." He waves it off. Because he isn't going to spoil a cake day with talk of things they can't control.

Senku laughed at that. "Please. I've never stopped working on my birthday, why start now?"

"Perhaps true but there might be someone here who would protest to you doing so." He figures Gen would much rather that Senku take the day off to enjoy a little relaxation for his birthday.

He stifled a delighted giggle at that. "No, I think he's met me, it's enough I'm here and eating cake, promise."
