Happy Birthday, Senku!
Who: OTA
Where: Dining Carriage
When: Jelly 4
What: Prompts are under the cut. Create your own top levels! Tag around!Get more points!
Warnings: more cake than the recommended serving size
Birthday Prep! (OTA except Senku)
Setting up food!
Plenty of people have offered to bring a number of treats - cookies, savory dishes, snacks ... Gen was placing a half-sheet cake, decorated with planets and with 'Happy Birthday Senku' written in frosting on the table. He looked quite pleased with himself, and would help lend a hand with other food.
Setting up decorations!
There were roughly a hundred origami stars to fold, which Gen would spend most of his time doing, especially if he didn't have any help. But after, he'd be stringing them up all around the dining car, creating an effect like a starry sky from the ceiling.
Setting up party favors!
Then, of course, there were paper flower crowns to fold. Gen had no idea how many people would end up coming, so he wanted a fair number - any extras could sit in the Arms Band or up his sleeves as part of a surprise to spring on people later. You never knew when you needed a paper flower crown!
Setting up the escape room!
This is really what Gen hoped he'd get the most help with. He only had so many math tricks up his sleeve, and he was very certain that Senku knew them all already. At least Nita would be lending a hand! Otherwise, Gen was sure any room he'd make, Senku would solve in minutes.
BIRTHDAY PARTY
Greetings!
Gen would greet the newcomer with a bright smile and an origami flower crown - placed right on their head! He'd direct them to the food, and let them know of the escape room upstairs. Have a lovely time!
Food!
Cake! Cookies! Popcorn! There's some spicy, savory food that's been made by other passengers, too. But hey, at least take a slice of cake. That's what this party's all about!
Escape Room!
Featuring math, puns, and clever little questions fellow Voidtrain passengers could come up with. Of course, anyone can enter and leave as they'd like, but perhaps if they look particularly stuck on a problem, another person could help them out?
Birthday Boy!
Somewhere in this mess, Senku would be available to chat with. Probably. He's not really expecting a party, or gifts, or even a kind thank you - but all would be appreciated.

Birthday Boy
Hm, that sounded kind of familiar, considering he'd asked him ages ago, if he would wear a crown. What a brat Gen was.
Senku was smiling though, kind of touched really that Gen would go to all this trouble, but not that surprised, considering his track record for making a big deal out of his birthday.
He was delighted by the selection of spicy food to eat, and he will even accept eating a piece of birthday cake, it would be bad luck not to after all.
For the moment he could be delighted and easily distracted by the diversion, and of course, he was going to have to talk to everyone who came to his party, one way or another.

He slides up alongside Senku at the food table, and attempts to place something lightweight atop his head, inside the paper crown. This is a normal greeting, right? Totally.
"So how old are you now, Senku? Ah-- only time as flesh and blood counts."

Sorry, Senku, someone is very much not used to parties.

Thankfully Inigo sure doesn't have to be threatened into social interactions. Or even pushed into them, really, because the main reason he's here is to talk to Senku, of course! He's not too sure how he would have felt about a party right now otherwise, but it'd suck to just ignore the birthday of one of his friends, right?
So rather than having to come up to him, it's Inigo who seeks out Senku, a smile on his face.
"Senku, happy birthday!" He motions with his hands a little, to show they're empty, before continuing with a slightly awkward smile-- "Forgive me that I didn't get you a present." It's kind of hard on this train, after all.. "Let's call all the stuff I gathered for you before a.. very early birthday present!"

One of them being Tidus, who is keeping the noise he could be making down. There's a few things tucked under his arm wrapped in the usual parcel paper (three things, if Senku's paying attention), but nevermind that. He's not bringing it right out as he approaches, but instead-
"Heeyyyy. Happy three thousand, seven hundred and thirty-nine? Please tell me I got that right."
He's been trying to keep track of that number all day, alright!

"Happy birthday, grandpa. Heh." Look, he doesn't get the chance to make that joke often, so when he sees the opportunity, he'll take it immediately. But that's not all he has to offer, jest and fun to be had in a celebration that comes rare on a train with no concept of time that they're fluent in reading. His hands are a few inches apart as they prepare for a summon out of his Arms Band; and in seconds, there is a fairly large container wrapped quaintly in plain colored paper.
"Here. I got you a little something as a present." He chuckles. "Apologies for how it looks. Train was short on stationary." Should Senku open it immediately, he will find something to his tastes, a fact Roland remembers well.

Romeo ran up to him once he spotted him with the biggest smile on his face. "Happy Birthday!"
Birthdays were always exciting! And he had checked the roster, mister Senku was lots of years old! So his birthday was even more important!

Koumyou Sanzo | Saiyuki [OTA +1 Locked]
Koumyou could be found near the food, oggling the lot of it and trying to determine by looking if any of it was going to be... well, sweet, but not too sweet. At least he's polite enough to not touch anything he doesn't plan to eat.
Birthday Prep! [Locked to Gen]
"Is that... origami?" When had Koumyou arrived? Who knew. But he was here now, looking over Gen's shoulder as the other man folded one of the origami stars for the party. The priest's eyes light up. "Do you want help?"

OTA!
When Rich had seen Gen's post on the network, he'd been more than eager to throw himself into a new hobby, which means he's contributed a fair bit to the spread. There are a few thumbprint cookies and the like, but his main attraction is a big bowl of what looks to be a stew-like substance with meat, onion... and yeah, those are some big chili peppers. The label on it reads "Bicol Express," and Rich is happy to hand out a big bowl of it on top of rice to whoever walks too close.
"Hey! Try this! You're gonna love it, trust me."
All we need is an incinerator and a gas mask and we can call this a Nonary Game (Escape Room)
Rich has been pretty eager to try out the escape rooms! They've always seemed fun, but he never had the money for them, so this seems like a good chance.
Of course, he's not particularly at Senku's level, so he definitely can be found getting frustrated a few of the puzzles, trying to play Simon Says with a button puzzle and just mashing all the buttons relentlessly, or tearing his hair out over a math puzzle. Wasn't Sudoku supposed to be for middle aged moms?
When he decides he needs a break, though, he moves from active help to... well, some might call it trolling, as he points at an abstract picture that probably has some clues in the colours.
"Hey, this is totally funyarinpa, right? Right?"
Spicy food, obviously, it's like a siren song
"What've you go there?" Senku wasn't familiar with the dish on name, or sight alone, but it looked good.
Even Senku's got a food weakness, really puts his whining about Gen in perspective :P
Well he can't be a robot, he has some human weaknesses.

Escape Room!
If the puzzles weren't enjoyable, whether people were stuck on them or not, it just wouldn't be fair, y'know?
"... If you're asking if that's a dog," she began, trying to hide the smile on her face.
"Well, you're not wrong. I'll tell you that much for free."
The puzzle about Ponch's escapades had been one of her favorites to make.

For a moment I thought he had Wizards at War with him. XD
LOL no he doesn't have his personal collection with him.
The results would be hilarious if he tried to order it, ngl.
RUDE train give him his damn books!
The most ironic part is, timeline-patching is basically the VTE's job, wrt 'Catastrophe' missions.
Rich should be labelled a catastrophe.

Party Favors!
(no subject)
Roland | OTA
He fulfills his promise to help the party planner out with the origami stars, coming into the venue early and volunteering to organize the paper ordered. An assembly comes into play soon after, before the actual folding occurs. It's a tedious process, but not one he doesn't welcome. It almost feels peaceful, as his hands work on folding stars upon stars, slowly building up a pile. Though he looks like he's in the thick of focus, he'll welcome anyone willing to sit through the task with him to help.
Eventually, he stands from his spot and starts gathering the collection. He may turn to you with a small smile gracing his face; "Don't know if this is a galaxy's worth yet, but we might need to start hanging them up soon. Shall we?"
[ Food Table: ]
Beware: one mister President currently hiding his face with one hand, turning away from a plate of food with a collection of small viands for sampling. There's clear indication that he's eaten from the offerings already, but there must be a reason why his usually stiff shoulders are hunched up as if bracing himself, or why the hand that rests by his mouth is trying to cover more than his lips.
It might be the fact that what can be seen from his neck and the tips of his ears are positively red in an angry flush which tips anyone off. He coughs against his palm three times, his voice coming out like broken gasps.
"G-Great. Just great." THIS is Senku's level of spice?! "D-Do you have any water or milk on you, by any chance?" He rasps out, finally revealing himself to the world. He's not having whatever that was again.
Food Table (up to you if milk is to be found *at* the table!)
"I'll be right back."
If there wasn't milk at this party, she knew where to get it. If there was, it'd at least save her a teleport.
Still worth the trip, though.
there is no milk in this lawless table of spice!!
oh no! XD To the kitchen it is. It's an emergency!
RIP 1 president

Curufin | OTA
Curufin shows up in time to help fold the origami stars and string them up around the dining car. He totes a step-ladder from the kitchen and pins the stars up in charming patterns. Elves are the People of the Stars, after all. He knows the constellations.
He only loses his balance once, and either manages to catch himself or else is caught by someone else. "Whoa!" He flails for an instant before one of these things happens.
Greetings and Food:
Curufin puts on the flower crown that Gen has very kindly offered him, grins humorously, and goes to check out the food. He'll happily cut slices of cake for people and hand them out.
Tidus | OTA
Tidus is that face when you're sure someone is about to give up. Twisted, grimacing, his eyes zoned in on the the paper he's folding, folding, sloooowly now - accompanying sounds of "ahh... ahhh...ahhh" with each decisive fold he makes. You can't take these back, gang!! You fold, you gotta commit!
2; birthday tiiimeWhich is the reason he doesn't give in. And really, once he gets going, he starts to chill out over the process. Soon he's got a small collection of origami stars going. Maybe not as many as the next guy, but!
But if you're that guy with quite the collection going, he'll have to take a moment to be stumped. "Man! Am I the only guy who didn't grow up making these things?"
But the misery of decorations soon comes to an end, or the exaggeration of it. Tidus is having a good time regardless: it's a surprise for Senku, and he's glad to see the guy get some birthday compliments and all those warm fuzzy feelings that come with it!
But if this is a birthday party for Senku? Tidus has a big question for all.
"Alright, so Senku's favourite thing is space, right? Who's been out in space here? You got space shows? I tried looking up movies in the cinema car, but all the ones I found were fiends trying to bite everyone's heads off!"
And being pretty good at it.
"Personally, I'm fine keeping my feet on the ground." Heh.
1
Especially since Inigo is good at this. His hands are nimble, working on the origami stars without having to look down at them much. Maybe the practice with all those paper flowers before paid off, even if making stars is a little different.
"Hey, it's called practice!" Look at Inigo, basking for once in his life in the knowledge he's actually good at something.
(Okay, he'd call it decent, but still.)
"Maybe you can learn a thing or two from her." He jots a thumb at Jumblie, who is sitting on the table and also attempting to fold stars.
.. Except it's not really working out for her, considering her total lack of fingers on her arm stumps. But she seems to be having fun all the same.
