Happy Birthday, Senku!

Birthday Prep! (OTA except Senku)


Setting up food!

Plenty of people have offered to bring a number of treats - cookies, savory dishes, snacks ... Gen was placing a half-sheet cake, decorated with planets and with 'Happy Birthday Senku' written in frosting on the table. He looked quite pleased with himself, and would help lend a hand with other food.

There were roughly a hundred origami stars to fold, which Gen would spend most of his time doing, especially if he didn't have any help. But after, he'd be stringing them up all around the dining car, creating an effect like a starry sky from the ceiling.


Setting up party favors!

Then, of course, there were paper flower crowns to fold. Gen had no idea how many people would end up coming, so he wanted a fair number - any extras could sit in the Arms Band or up his sleeves as part of a surprise to spring on people later. You never knew when you needed a paper flower crown!


Setting up the escape room!

This is really what Gen hoped he'd get the most help with. He only had so many math tricks up his sleeve, and he was very certain that Senku knew them all already. At least Nita would be lending a hand! Otherwise, Gen was sure any room he'd make, Senku would solve in minutes.


BIRTHDAY PARTY

Greetings!

Gen would greet the newcomer with a bright smile and an origami flower crown - placed right on their head! He'd direct them to the food, and let them know of the escape room upstairs. Have a lovely time!

Food!

Cake! Cookies! Popcorn! There's some spicy, savory food that's been made by other passengers, too. But hey, at least take a slice of cake. That's what this party's all about!

Escape Room!

Featuring math, puns, and clever little questions fellow Voidtrain passengers could come up with. Of course, anyone can enter and leave as they'd like, but perhaps if they look particularly stuck on a problem, another person could help them out?

Birthday Boy!

Somewhere in this mess, Senku would be available to chat with. Probably. He's not really expecting a party, or gifts, or even a kind thank you - but all would be appreciated.

He chuckled lightly. "Me neither. That's why we have them to do the cooking, I certainly don't have time anymore."

"You find excuses to eat food outside of mess when you can," Cassie says.

"Though it's actually pretty good at some places."

"Ah, well since we only have one source of food really, and that's Francois for the moment, and whoever they get to help them, there's not really a lot of choice. Our diet's pretty much whatever we get our hands on." Senku hummed.

"Where do you like to eat?" He would assume her world hadn't collapsed.

"Any good taco truck," Cassie says. "I honestly took 'em for granted growing up, by then I'd end up stationed in, like, Europe or something, and you just can't find a real taco anywhere."

"Tacos huh?" Senku asked, looking like he was considering that. He'd had them before, at least whatever version Japan passed as Mexican food.

"I was always more partial to ramen. There was a great shop, best ramen, my dad and I would go together."

"The good shit? Hell yeah. Whenever you get around to bringing L.A. back, I know a place my dad used to take me to. Don't know if it's in your universe, but...worth a shot."

"The place is gone, but the person who ran it may not be. It's hard to say. We aren't heading to Los Angeles, unless we get the opportunity to stop there. Don't know, depends on how America goes."

What Gen would divulge told him it went in a disastrous way.

"I doubt you've got a version of my dad," Cassie says. "So my last name wouldn't carry much weight even if there's a version of it around."

"That's potentially true. I haven't been to that region of the US. I've been to the other side of the country, and Texas, but not California." Senku mused thoughtfully.

"But, we're probably going that way. I'm looking for corn."

"I'd bet good money you'll find it," Cassie says.

"Though God knows what it looks like now after growing wild for thousands of years."

"That's a good point, but hopefully it will be good enough. I hope it's been growing wild and there's a huge corn field there. It's the strain we're after. Tastes terrible, but great for making alcohol."

"Always important," Cassie says. "Get yourself a couple ag majors and a couple hundred brewers and you should have everything you need to get a civilized society running."

He chuckled lightly. "We have wine for consumption, this alcohol is for reviving the population of the planet. I'm not in charge of making the alcohol we drink, whatever the trick is, I haven't mastered it."

"Long as somebody knows, that should be all you need."

"It's drinkable, but not particularly good. Very strong, it will get you drunk very fast." Senku said with a bit of a grin. "But not much in the way of flavour like a properly made wine would have."

"Well, it's probably gonna keep getting better the more of the work you get done."

"I'll leave it to the village wine experts." He chuckled lightly.

"You can always volunteer to help," Cassie says. "They've gotta need testers, don't they?"

"Ah, I could, but I don't drink that much. I usually need a clear head. Hazard of the job, you could say." Senku hummed. "When I drink, it's not a lot, usually."

"Probably for the best," Cassie says. "You can't stay in shape if you drink that much."

"Ha, I'm not worried about that. I move around way too much for that anyway. It's more like I have to think all the time, and we do a lot of stuff that involves my brain to be fully functional. Someone's gotta keep their head. Me and Gen do that." Senku grinned. "What do you like to drink then? You seem to know more than I do, and after the next mission, I'm planning on getting really drunk with Xue Yang."
