Happy Birthday, Senku!

Birthday Prep! (OTA except Senku)


Setting up food!

Plenty of people have offered to bring a number of treats - cookies, savory dishes, snacks ... Gen was placing a half-sheet cake, decorated with planets and with 'Happy Birthday Senku' written in frosting on the table. He looked quite pleased with himself, and would help lend a hand with other food.

There were roughly a hundred origami stars to fold, which Gen would spend most of his time doing, especially if he didn't have any help. But after, he'd be stringing them up all around the dining car, creating an effect like a starry sky from the ceiling.


Setting up party favors!

Then, of course, there were paper flower crowns to fold. Gen had no idea how many people would end up coming, so he wanted a fair number - any extras could sit in the Arms Band or up his sleeves as part of a surprise to spring on people later. You never knew when you needed a paper flower crown!


Setting up the escape room!

This is really what Gen hoped he'd get the most help with. He only had so many math tricks up his sleeve, and he was very certain that Senku knew them all already. At least Nita would be lending a hand! Otherwise, Gen was sure any room he'd make, Senku would solve in minutes.


BIRTHDAY PARTY

Greetings!

Gen would greet the newcomer with a bright smile and an origami flower crown - placed right on their head! He'd direct them to the food, and let them know of the escape room upstairs. Have a lovely time!

Food!

Cake! Cookies! Popcorn! There's some spicy, savory food that's been made by other passengers, too. But hey, at least take a slice of cake. That's what this party's all about!

Escape Room!

Featuring math, puns, and clever little questions fellow Voidtrain passengers could come up with. Of course, anyone can enter and leave as they'd like, but perhaps if they look particularly stuck on a problem, another person could help them out?

Birthday Boy!

Somewhere in this mess, Senku would be available to chat with. Probably. He's not really expecting a party, or gifts, or even a kind thank you - but all would be appreciated.

"Sure does! You're around, you're enjoying each day, why shouldn't you get a birthday too! And a big party to go with it!"

Is it okay to arrange another birthday on your pal's birthday? Hope you don't mind, Senku!

"Do you want one? What should we do for your birthday?"

"A party?" Just for him? He looks at Tidus with wide eyes.

"Um..." What would he want, for a part all his own? "I like games! So everyone could have fun playing with each other!"

That would be a lot of fun. "And dancing!"

[blitzcheer]

"Games and dancing," Tidus repeats, like he's considering this party very serious (and he is--along with the smile pulled on his face). Where would be the best place for that?

"We could use the games room... but that doesn't have access to music." So then... aha! He clicks his fingers.

"So we take the games to the music room! Then people have room to dance!"

[myblueskies]

"That's such a good idea!" He grinned, "Then people can play games and dance altogether and we can have lots of fun music!"

He bounced slightly and then pulled a face. "But it won't be my real birthday... Do you think people will want to come?"

Was there a rule about that?

"No way! You don't know your birthday, so you're choosing one! Long as you have a birthday once a year - it's the same as anyone else. That's how other people do it."

Because you're only born once! ...usually.

"Hey, how about Alfredo? Would he know when your birthday is?"

[myblueskies]

"Oh..." So he could have one once a year like everyone else. He nodded with a small frown as he thought but then he lit up.

"He might know! I don't know if I would be allowed to know it though..."

Would it count as pushing his head to remember? It was tricky...

Allowed...? Tidus looks at him, confused.

"Why not? Who's stopping you?"

[myblueskies]

"No one. It's just a thing." He looks a bit awkward.

"Shinki are not supposed to have memories 'cept when we get memory dreams. So if I find out... It might count as a memory."

He's not sure. It's just a day after all... As long as he doesn't know anything else about it...

...it's a confusing situation, for sure. Only getting memories in your dreams? Tidus tries to think on it, but that doesn't help it make any sense.

"Well... what happens if you do find out? Does a date count?" He rubs the back of his head. "S'not like you'll know what you did on those days. Right?"

[myblueskies]

"Bad stuff..." He pulled a face. "So I'll need to check with Elfnein! If she thinks it's safe we can ask Alfredo. You gotta ask your god about stuff like that 'cause it's important! So she'll know if a date counts."

Surely! Gods were smart like that!

[blitzcheer]

"Alright." Even if he didn't really understand it, he knew different people had their things. Just like the Ronsos had their ways, so did the heaven people. People like Romeo.

Tidus throws him a smile.

"But even if knowing you old birthday's a problem, don't worry, 'kay? You can have a new one. Your new start!"

[myblueskies]

"Yes." He grinned, whatever day it was, the important thing was they would have a fun party for everyone. After all months were called differently here so he didn't even know if he could figure out when his birthday would be if they knew the day.

"Do you know your birthday? 'Cause you should have a party too!"

Everyone should have a party!

[blitzcheer]

"Mmm- mine won't be for a long time," he goes for, and it might as well be true, right? "But I can come to everyone else's and have fun with them! I like that."

Tidus gives Romeo a wink, hushed as he 'admits' jokingly: "Maybe I just want us to have more parties so I can have more cake!"

The party gremlin!

[myblueskies]

"Well if it's too long away we can just make yours sooner too! So then we can have more cake!"

Romeo is all for this party gremlin life.

"There's lots of us so we could have a party every week!"

[blitzcheer]

"Is that what you want?" Tidus asks, a laugh in his words. "A party every week? Wouldn't people get party'd out?"

Never Tidus being the gremlin of parties - Romeo's the red dancing shoes of parties! There'll be no end!

[myblueskies]

"Maybe..." He wouldn't want people to be all partied out. "They don't all got to be big I guess... When we had our book party in the heavens we just all read and made sparkly bookmarks and ate yummy food. I slept on a beanbag for lots of it because I was so tired after all the cooking! But it was still fun!"

Parties didn't always have to be really big and loud!

"You were part of a book club?" Romeo? Into a book club? "Ohhh, didn't you say your god likes to sit out in the library? She's that small girl, isn't she? Do you go with her?"

Is that it?

[myblueskies]

"Well when we were in the heavens we lived in a library!" He told Tidus with a grin. "Elfnein's whole temple was a huge library so we had the party here and everyone got to bring a book so we could choose which was the best one."

He grinned wider and his voice became a conspiratorial whisper. "But we had to choose mister Zetta or he would have been really grumpy!"

[blitzcheer]

Mister Zetta? "--Wait, that book that's here now? They were in heaven with you? How many heaven people are there? A few of you?"

He's not sure if he remembers Romeo ever talking about the...book. But he's seen them on the roster, sometimes around, never really knowing what to think about them. But Tidus never guessed that the book came from Romeo's afterlife.

Not that a book can't go to heaven, or anything. Tidus doesn't make the rules!

[myblueskies]

"Um there's me and Elfnein and mister Zetta. And then there was Joss and miss Hibiki! I don't know if you knew her... Mister Zetta and miss Hibiki are both gods but Joss was a shinki like me... cept he got all his memories back before he came here and wasn't really a shinki anymore..."

He didn't understand that. But lots of things happened that he didn't understand.

[blitzcheer]

"You can do that?" Not being a shinki anymore...huh. "Would you want to? Not be a shinki anymore?"

If they could figure out how to do that anyway. Did he just get...made human again somehow? Huh.

[myblueskies]

"Hmmm." He looked thoughtful. "I don't know. It would be strange I think and... And I want to keep helping Elfnein, even if she don't really need to fight ayakashi here, we might go to a place where she does and then she will need a shinki."

So not being one... That wouldn't be very good teamwork at all!

[blitzcheer]

Right, those things... Tidus barely remembers them, but he's sure the word has come up in the past - the far, far past. He taps a finger against the table idly.

"Well, going around fighting the bad guys isn't a bad life if that's what the two of you want to do. You could take a trip around a world and figure out where you two want to be! Unless you wanna go back to heaven?"

[myblueskies]

"Yeah! We can go wherever we want to!" Romeo grins. At least. When they aren't on this train. But the train isn't bad either, they got to go to lots of fun places and he's made lots of new friends.

"I don't know if she will or not. She might want to go back to her first home."
