Happy Birthday, Senku!

Birthday Prep! (OTA except Senku)


Setting up food!

Plenty of people have offered to bring a number of treats - cookies, savory dishes, snacks ... Gen was placing a half-sheet cake, decorated with planets and with 'Happy Birthday Senku' written in frosting on the table. He looked quite pleased with himself, and would help lend a hand with other food.


Setting up decorations!

There were roughly a hundred origami stars to fold, which Gen would spend most of his time doing, especially if he didn't have any help. But after, he'd be stringing them up all around the dining car, creating an effect like a starry sky from the ceiling.


Setting up party favors!

Then, of course, there were paper flower crowns to fold. Gen had no idea how many people would end up coming, so he wanted a fair number - any extras could sit in the Arms Band or up his sleeves as part of a surprise to spring on people later. You never knew when you needed a paper flower crown!


Setting up the escape room!

This is really what Gen hoped he'd get the most help with. He only had so many math tricks up his sleeve, and he was very certain that Senku knew them all already. At least Nita would be lending a hand! Otherwise, Gen was sure any room he'd make, Senku would solve in minutes.


BIRTHDAY PARTY

Greetings!

Gen would greet the newcomer with a bright smile and an origami flower crown - placed right on their head! He'd direct them to the food, and let them know of the escape room upstairs. Have a lovely time!

Food!

Cake! Cookies! Popcorn! There's some spicy, savory food that's been made by other passengers, too. But hey, at least take a slice of cake. That's what this party's all about!

Escape Room!

Featuring math, puns, and clever little questions fellow Voidtrain passengers could come up with. Of course, anyone can enter and leave as they'd like, but perhaps if they look particularly stuck on a problem, another person could help them out?

Birthday Boy!

Somewhere in this mess, Senku would be available to chat with. Probably. He's not really expecting a party, or gifts, or even a kind thank you - but all would be appreciated.

"I don't think he'd mind. I'm not sure he made this one though, we could both be totally helpless." Senku chuckled. "Maybe sometime you could teach the two of us."

He kind of thought that would be adorable.

"That would be lots of fun!" He grinned, "We can all figure it out together and make a really yummy cake for the whole train!"

It would be a lot of fun, he likes both Senku and Gen and cooking with Senku had been lots of fun last time!

"Wow, can you really make a big one like that?" Senku asked with a hum.

"Oh, you know, if it helps, I did get a book about chocolate when we were at the last platform. I wonder if there's a cake recipe in there. Then we just have to make enough for everyone." That seemed like a pretty decent project to him, and he figured Romeo might like chocolate.

"Yes! I bet we can find a pan big enough!"

Even if they had to buy one! If they could buy things to fit in suitcases then they could buy a baking tray as big as a suitcase, right?

"Oh that sounds yummy! We can have a look and see if it's got any good chocolate cakes in there!"

"We'll check the oven to see how big a pan we can fit inside and go from there." Senku advised with a smile.

"After all if it doesn't fit that's a problem, but we can just make more if it's not big enough." That was the only solution, but it would work.

"I'll let you take a look at it." Senku summoned it out of his arms band and held it out to Romeo, a Chocolate Lover's cookbook.

Oh yes! That would be important too! They would need to fit it in the oven! Even if they had to make two cakes with a smaller tray! That would be okay as well because then they could make two flavours!

He grinned as Senku brought out the book. "Thank you sir!" He took it with a grin and opened it. There were a lot of yummy things in here. He flicked the pages.

"Death by Chocolate Cake? That sounds a bit bad..."

"I think it's a metaphor...or something." Senku commented, leaning over to look at the page upside down from his position.

"Yeah, there's nothing in that that would actually kill you. It's probably just very chocolatey." He hummed.

"I'm not a chocolate expert, so maybe you should pick what sounds like the best kind."

Well that was a relief! He wouldn't want to kill anybody!

"It looks very yummy. But you don't like really sweet things right? You said... So maybe we should make a not chocolate one as well."

Or instead. But honestly, more cakes were always better.

"I don't, but I don't mind making things for everyone else. You don't have to worry about me. And besides, if we work hard on something like that, I can't help but have to taste it." Senku commented.

There were worse things, than filling up on sugar, but he would do it without complaint to make certain people happy.

Romeo grinned at that, "Then we can make a huge death by chocolate cake! And everyone on the train can have it!"

He thought for a moment, "Oh when is mister Gen's birthday?"

"His birthday is November 13th. How that translates to this place, I can't be sure. For me, when I left home it was the end of September. So three months later, for me it would be the beginning of January and hence my birthday." Senku smiled a little bit.

"For him, I think he left after his birthday. If I had to guess, it was December and he's been here, what, two months? So it would be February to him. It's very complicated when you think about it."

"Oh we had November and January in the heavens." He nodded and frowned, it would be January for one person and February for another...

"That is really complicated sir... Maybe we can just have a birthday party for him anyways! So that we can give him cake."

"It is." Senku agreed and considered his question.

"I mean, there's nothing stopping anyone from celebrating anything they want, aside from inaccuracy. I'm not sure I'd be nearly as good at planning a party, but making him a cake sometime wouldn't be impossible."

[myblueskies]

"I'm good at party planning!" Romeo grinned, "So I can help and we can make him a great party!" His voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper.

"Mister Tidus too, he didn't tell me when his birthday is so we can make one up for him too!"

Surely there was enough people on the train to have a party every week.

"That sounds like a pretty good plan. We just have to decide when's a good time to do that. I don't know Tidus' birthday either." Senku mused.

"But I'm sure people like knowing they're appreciated. What about you? When's your birthday?"

"I don't know! I don't got any memories but mister Tidus said I could just pick a time because it's been about a year since I first went to the heavens so I must be older by now!"

Surely!

"Okay, well then, Tidus is right. You just tell me when you want to have your birthday, and I'll get Tidus and Gen to help me, we'll make you a party." He promised, all gentile smiles and kindness.

He grinned, "It's going to be so fun!"

Parties for everyone! "Today's your birthday though so we gotta make sure you have lots of fun!" Thinking...

"What's your favourite game?"

"My favourite game?" Senku repeated, blinking and he considered it.

"Uhhh..." He didn't mind playing cards, he thought it would be quite fun to take Gen down, but that probably wasn't what Romeo went.

What did ordinary people do for their birthdays? "...I honestly don't know."

"You don't?" Romeo tilted his head, was it that he liked too many to decide or that he didn't know any games?

The latter would be so sad! "Well it's your birthday so we can play all the games you want!"

It was more the latter. "I know how to play poker, which isn't really a game for kids." It involved things like gambling and between him and Gen, cheating. Massive amounts of cheating.

"I didn't really play a lot of games. I liked to study."

"Oh." That was a bit sad, if there were games just for grown ups, because he would never be one so could never play those games.

Still he was quickly distracted by Senku's latter words. "You like to study? What do you like studying? What's your favourite thing?"

"Science. I always liked studying all kinds of science. I spent all my time studying so I know a massive amount of information. My favourite thing is space." Senku said, easily.

"I wanted to be an astronaut, which means to travel in space, I wanted to explore and see what was up there for myself."

"Wow!" He grinned, "And now you can! We might go to space again!" He didn't think Senku had been with them the last time they had been to space.

"Studying is really fun if a bit tricky but it's important too because that's how you learn lots of things!"

"That's right, that's how you learn a lot of things. It's good to follow your questions and get answers." Senku would advocate for that all day long.

"I would really like to go to space. I think it would be fascinating."
