3 Kazoo - Adult Ballroom Social and Epic Kids' Game Night

What: The much-awaited-and-discussed Adult Ballroom Social (and children's side event)

You've seen the flyers. You've heard the announcements. You've ordered additional party reinforcements if you wanted them. Some of you have even helped her to prepare. And now it's finally here - the Adult Ballroom Social that she's been planning these many, many week-and-a-half.

But you wouldn't know it only took that long to throw it together. She's gone all out for this one. Including the wardrobe that's been opened up, there are four cars that have been set aside for tonight. The main ballroom floor is in the non-training gym, which has been cleared and decorated for the occasion. The music is being piped in from the music car, where it's still playing for those who would prefer a more intimate and private setting. Meanwhile, the game room has been set out for the kids who would otherwise be left out of this adult and near-adult event.

"Don't sweat it," Cassie says. "Everyone's nervous the first time."

She reaches forward and begins her dive into the heart of the wardrobe.

"Luckily, it's a lot easier for guys than it is for girls. No offense."

"The first dance I went to I had to leave immediately because I found out my girlfriend's dad was a big time weapon's dealer and he dropped a warehouse me." He shakes his head. That had been a... well, a disaster. That wasn't even mentioning the plane crash.

"Um.. why would I be offended by that?"

"Well, you seemed nervous," Cassie says. "Nobody likes to hear the thing they're nervous about isn't a big deal."

A brief pause as she eyeballs a specific jacket.

"Although it isn't. Especially not compared to, y'know...that story."

"I'm always nervous-it's not like that's news to anyone." He shrugs. What is he nervous about? Well... probably a little bit of everything. He might have some pretty serious anxiety issues but it's fine. Don't worry about that.

"Ah, yeah.. I mean I figure that if the night doesn't even with me under a building then I can probably count it as a good night." Set the bar low so it's easy to step over and all that. "..But I also really want to make sure Kitty has a good time and I'm sure her expectations are a little.. uh.. higher than that."

Kept the outfit nonspecific in case you had something in mind

"Pretty sure they are for most people," Cassie says, her voice sharp and dry.

She holds out a jacket with an accompanying shirt - eyeballed to approximately his size.

"What do you think of this?"

Peter looks it over and then nods-honestly, he's not one to be particular about his clothes other than he's not not a fan of the feeling of some fabrics.

"Oh, Yeah. I like it." He takes them both in hand. He's fine with it but... would Kitty like it?

"Well, try it on," Cassie says. "We'll see if it'll be something your date likes, too."

"Oh, Yeah, right. Of course." Peter says nervously, looking at the shirt. "I'll just um..." He steps back and moves over to a place he can try the new shirt on without anyone watching.

After a moment or two, he's changed into the new shirt but hasn't pulled the jacket on. "Better?"

Cassie tilts her head, taking it in for a moment.

"Yup. Definitely works on you."

She pauses.

"'Course, I'm not sure what Kitty likes, but I'm usually a good authority on this."

"Really?" Peter glances down to check the shirt out again and then looks at that broken mirror. "Thanks." He smiles softly. Now if only he could do something about his untamed curls. They don't have hair gel hiding around somewhere, do they?

"She's pretty chill, so I don't think she'll be disappointed. I mean.. probably not." He tugs lightly at the bottom of the shirt to pull out any wrinkles that might be showing.

Cassie smiles gently. "I'm sure you'll do great."

She's not really experienced on the whole older sibling-type relationship. The closest she ever had was Jacqui, who was basically the same age as her. Is this what it's like? She hopes she's doing alright here.

"Like I said, I'm something of an expert. So you can trust me."
