3 Kazoo - Adult Ballroom Social and Epic Kids' Game Night

Who: Everyone
Where: Wardrobe, Gym Car, Music Car, Games Car
When: 3 Kazoo, Evening
What: The much-awaited-and-discussed Adult Ballroom Social (and children's side event)
Warnings: None

You've seen the flyers. You've heard the announcements. You've ordered additional party reinforcements if you wanted them. Some of you have even helped her to prepare. And now it's finally here - the Adult Ballroom Social that she's been planning these many, many week-and-a-half.

But you wouldn't know it only took that long to throw it together. She's gone all out for this one. Including the wardrobe that's been opened up, there are four cars that have been set aside for tonight. The main ballroom floor is in the non-training gym, which has been cleared and decorated for the occasion. The music is being piped in from the music car, where it's still playing for those who would prefer a more intimate and private setting. Meanwhile, the game room has been set out for the kids who would otherwise be left out of this adult and near-adult event.

"Hamburgers," Soldat guesses. Clearly not what Crowley's looking for, here. They pour out a glass of water as anticipated, once they're close enough to the table to get to it.

"Mm!" He hums taking another sip of whatever shite he's drinking, swallowing it back. "You've met 'im, I take it?"

Probably not the answer Soldat was expecting, either. But Crowley’s not really sure what he's saying at this point.

They don't know what they should have been expecting, but they do chuckle at the result, and offer Crowley the glass, deftly swapping it for whatever the demon currently has, if they can. "I have not. I did meet John Elevator once, though. Wanna know what he invented?"

Crowley takes the glass, co.pletely aloof to Soldat's tricks. The thing is, Crowley has never suffered a hangover. He genuinely enjoys getting pissed on liquor and how it makes him feel, and in the blink of an eye (albiet with a few grunts), he can make himself sober again and skip the whole 'needs to take care of himself' part.

"Tell me." he mutters, bringing the new glass to his lips and bubbling into it for a moment before sipping at whatever it is.

Following the grand tradition of the at least somewhat-unexpected, Soldat says, "Moving sidewalks. You know, like in airports." They'd even watched their Crowley de-drunkify himself once, but that doesn't mean they can't try to take care of this one, anyway.

"Pointless invention." he huffs into his glass, splashing water a bit. "Never works anyway. I probably did that at some point... can't keep track."

Finally pulling the drink from his lips, he sniffs loudly and then looks around the crowd, wondering where Aziraphale's been off to, then turns back to Soldat expectantly.

"D'you dance or are your legs metal, too?" he asks curiously, not that that would make a difference, probably.

Brows go right up, amused. "I dance. I mostly know stuff from the 1930s, but if you're interested. And your angel don't mind. I could take you out there for a spin."

Crowley chuckles into his drink, finding humor in the offer. Nothing like some outdated dancing with someone who knows him better than he knows them.

"Oooh," he giggles, "Maybe we should make him jealous." he says with waggling eyebrows, "He's cute when he's flustered."

The real sign that Crowley is trashed, he'd never be caught dead talking about Aziraphale like that sober.

"Oh, well." Soldat laughs a little, then steps back and holds out a hand. "C'mon, Crowley. Let's see how well you do the Lindy when you're sloshed." They're gonna guess: not terribly well. But they don't care. It's all in good fun, and they're a good enough dancer that they can at least keep Crowley from stomping on their toes.

"I do my best dancing sloshed," he huffs in reply, clapping his hand down in theirs as it's offered. "Hell is famous for it's dance parties, you know." which is sort of true. Famous is a weird choice of word, but hell does have their share of dance parties, many demons dance to pass the time, and Crowley isn't so bad, just a little off-balance, currently.

"You know what, I didn't know that." They're not sure they'd imagined hell as a place where a lot of dancing took place. Crowley always seemed to think it was pretty awful.

Lack of balance, they can compensate for. They tug him gently out onto the actual dance floor. "Try not to trip on me, yeah?" they say, only about half-teasing, and pull him into a pretty simple set of steps, hands joined, testing how much he knows.

Crowley abandons his drink on the end of the table just in time for Soldat to tug him along. As he meets them on the dance floor, his depth perception is just a bit off, but he manages to get in place eventually.

"I think I can manage," he scoffs lightly, following along fairly naturally. It should be noted that this is much different from a dance party in hell, which some might say os indescribable.

Well, there's certainly no terrible disco happening, at least. Soldat is leading Crowley through some simply Lindy Hop steps, mostly the matched steps and simple spins, a few twirls out on the end of their arm and back again, if he seems stable enough to not fall down if they try it.

Crowley manages well enough, of course he'd been around when this sort of dance was popular, but it's been ages since, so there's slight apprehension. In the end, much like riding a bicycle, it's easy to fall back into. Crowley thinks he's doing really well, but he also can't see himself, and he's very drunk.

The part that gets him is the spin, which is likely because he spends it looking around the room to see who might be watching them.
