Where: Garden carriage

What: For today the garden carriage is turned into a place to get creative.
Warnings: There's cakes. And glitter.

Whether or not you heard Romeo and Madoka's announcement, you'll know about it, unless you avoid the garden carriage somehow for the entire day (and then from then on). The changes are simple, but hopefully something to be built on: an outline made in gold paint that takes the shape of a tree with large curling branches that greets the viewer from the longer width of wall, and a fishing net draped down the length of wall by the nearest entrance, with strings hanging off it for decorations to be added to. Posters seem to be all over the carriage, carrying messages in a childish yet neat handwriting, like "Are you having a fun day? Please vote art so we can have do lots more art together!"

Small sitting pillows have been placed around so people aren't sitting on the bed of stones, and the statues once there moved to other parts of the 'garden', leaving them with sounds of the running water to keep them company.

So, just what is there to do?

THE CRAFTS;

The group have done their best to get as many art supplies as possible, with two trunks taken from the luggage car, and filled as tidily as possible. Inside one is a variety of papers, from tissue to cardboard, decorated and plain, some that's shiny, and even the kind for origami. There's also some sketchpads set out to the side, for any larger projects.

And in the net trunk is all the rest you'd expect: the fun supplies. Paints, inks, glue, glitter, threads, ribbons, and wooden beads, and even scissors are set inside. Some of those paints? Why, they're even shiny paints, and plenty of them. There are books too, at different crafting levels. From how to make paper cranes, butterflies, flower garlands, and whatever else you might imagine. How about a tree with stars?

Pretend what you want's inside them, and have fun.

Or perhaps you brought your own craft along to the carriage. Whether it's knitting, sewing or anything else creative you'd like to do, there's definitely a place for that as well! It's like there are spots in the carriage that have been left intentionally empty for people to sit down with their own tools and work.

MEMORY WALL;

Very, very simple folded animals have been put on the corners of where the netting is displayed, stretched out to make the most of the hanging that the netting provides (you have to get creative with what you can buy).

Looking it over, there's already what seems to be names on cards, placed around different parts of the netting. Perhaps you may recognize some of the names as people who have been on the train before, but have since left.

CAKE;

Of course there's cake. How else would they tempt people to come and sit down? There's one large cake made out of rainbow and sprinkles, and then a collection of cupcakes, all a mix of colours and whatever shakeable edibles has been decided to be plopped on top.

There's also a few plates of simple yet sweet biscuits cut into a variety of shapes (cat heads, dogs, dinosaurs, and even...a train), some with light icing, some not. The quality is about what you'd expect from some kids having fun in the kitchen, and the recipes are simple for it. Don't worry; you might have glitter and sprinkles dropping onto your lap with whatever you pick up, but the shakers were about all anyone went wild with in the kitchen than the baking.

Mami's helped to bring along refreshments in offering different flavours of tea, and there's even a few flavours of coffee to pick from too.

So grab a cuppa, a piece of cake, and have fun pretending you're five and in art class again and create a masterpiece.

Or even show others how to.

"Awww, poor babies! He should work on better failsafes. It sounds like he cares but he's not good at improvising a motivational imperative for his robots."

She does look sympathetic towards this mystery person.

"It's not like carrying a child, but slowly putting something intelligent together after months of intensive labor does mean a lot. And it's upsetting when they turn out badly. I hate the times mine have had to be dismantled because of performance issues."

"... I suppose I can give him a tiny bit of leeway, if he really does feel bad about it." Ugh, she didn't wanna feel bad for Gyro! She wanted to hate him!

"He does seem to mean well... he just gets along better with machines than with people."

"I usually do, too. But people tend to be subtle, and I can't always tell what people are trying to tell me when they just don't outright say it. Machines do and say what they mean." And she gets overstimulated, but that one's a little harder to explain. There's a reason she wears gloves all the time. "Maybe he's like me."

[sos_pilot]

"... No, you're definitely better than him. Cause at least you can admit you're struggling with stuff. Gyro Gearloose?" A scoff.

"No, for him, eeeeverybody else is wrong, and he has never done a single thing ever wrong ever in his life, and we're all just big idiots who can't understand his genius."

... So. There was a tiny grudge.

"Oh.... well I know people like that, too. That's okay, if I ever met him I'd tell him it was okay to be wrong sometimes. And then ignore him if he said I was wrong."

She does actually know how it sounds and she'd do it just to be a spiteful little Princess. She's gotta use her royalty cred somehow.

Della stared at her for a bit, and then laughed hard. "I knew I liked you! Now you're just making me like you even more!"

That makes her practically beam, because while her friends back home like her? Sometimes they mostly tolerate her. Here, people actually seem to like her just fine.

"Thanks! I'm really glad when I can get people interested in science. It means I have something to share with them. I'd hate to think someone turned you off to it."

[sos_pilot]

"He turned me off to robots." Della made sure to make the distinction. "Not science. Trust me, I love to learn and experiment!"

[sciencegirl]

"Well, robots are the science I'm best at. So he's just a jerk."

This is the very adult and mature conclusion that Entrapta reaches.

"He has no excuse. If they're his babies he needs to protect them. It sucks when they get taken over by hostile forces.... that is what happened, right? He didn't just design their AIs badly?"

[sos_pilot]

Hey, it's a fair conclusion. Gyro Gearloose is a jerk. End of story.

... Okay so not really, but that's for a canon-point Della's not at yet.

"No, it's all him." Della snorts derisively. "His hands, his brains, his screw-ups."

[sciencegirl]

This is the most Catra she's ever heard someone sound on the train and she's pretty sure.

It's sort of funny since this doesn't seem to be typical behavior.

"Have you talked to him about it or have people just yelled at him about it?"

[sos_pilot]

"... Mostly yelled." Della admitted. "And I try not to talk to him if I can help it." She knew how bad that sounded.

[sciencegirl]

"It sounds like he needs someone to talk to him about it. A lot. Sometimes we get too excited about what we're doing, and we feel like if we make a mistake someone is going to take it away from us. Or some of us just aren't good at accepting failure."

She rolls her eyes at that.

"It's part of the whole process but some people find it really upsetting."

Augh. Stop making so many good points. Unfair.

"... Well, if he wanted to talk to someone, he does have his intern, Fenton. He practically worships the ground Gyro works on... even if I can't imagine why. And he could always talk to Manny, he's usually around the lab..."

[sciencegirl]

"People who know him normally would probably do a better job of talking to him than people who don't! Or... maybe not. Maybe they're worried if they have to be around him all the time, they don't want him upset with them. So it should be someone else who is patient enough to deal with him?"

She makes an 'ugh, people are hard' face which really requires no explanation.

"... How about this?" Della tries to offer. "We'll worry about him if he gets back here. Until then, why don't we relax with some cupcakes?"
