What you really want
Who: Hera Syndulla and OPEN
Where: Rock Garden, Laundry Room
When: Llama 27
What: Trying to process revelations from the test of heart
Warnings:
Hera had come through the actual mission with relatively few problems. So why was the much lower stakes stop managing to get under her skin like this?
The trial of heart was supposed to make it hard to walk away, not make her question why that was what it manufactured as a desire. But it would have been pointless for its purpose if there wasn't some truth to it...
Of course, the one person it would be truly useful to talk this over with isn't on the train. So she's going to have to work it out on her own.
The first thought on what would Kanan do is to spend some time meditating since she'd spent time learning it. THe results are... mixed and sometimes she has to just let herself think.
She can't help trying to fall back on the old standby of keeping herself too busy to think about it. Unfortunately with no access to maintain the engines or most other systems, she's got Purple's assigned chore at her disposal.
Laundry's not the best chore for a distraction but she's throwing herself into it all the same.

"Hrm.... I wish I got better data, I should have gone deeper...."

She sets down the basket of dirty clothes that she's collected from various passengers. "Deeper into what?"

"Analysis of..... Stuff. I've been in here doing that for.... Um, I'm not sure, I don't have my chronological uplink to Orion anymore."
There is the vague shape of a person under a sheet shaking her head and facepalming.

She lets out a breath, "Actually, I used to do all this sitting outside the Orion cause no one could bother me in the vacuum of space. I haven't found the airlock to sit on top of this train things and do it here."
She pulls the sheet off her head after carefully closing her notebook, "I just know that getting anyone to do laundry back home was a massive chore, so I figured no one would be in here."
She wants to add looking for people to practice their dance moves with for mission selection, but she suspects no one does that here and it was only her unreliable captain that did that sort of nonsense.

Another convenient comparison. "I expect all my crew to do their part to keep the ship running, and that includes myself. I'm not about to start slacking on that here."
Also it's a good distraction, especially when the laundry will have to all be hung up manually to dry. Plenty of ways to keep herself busy.

But that last one....
Well, at least Danny had plenty of experience functioning through denial and distractions. And it wasn't exactly like knowing what he was most afraid of was something new.
Speaking of which, here was one now.
"Hey!" He waves cheerfully at Hera. Their last meeting had convinced him that she was one of the coolest people here. Because, space.
"What's up? Its been a while since we talked."

But then she smiles. The kids here are simple enough to focus on. Much simpler than hypotheticals. "Hi. Just... doing some work. How are your stars coming along?"
no subject
It was nice... having a way to remember the constellations from back home.

Nothing's going to quite replace talking to Kanan right now though.

Wild guess here.

"But you do know there's an end to it?"
no subject
There's an end to the fighting, but that doesn't tell her who sees the end of it. And that's just the beginning of the reasons to not spend too long wanting anything specific for herself.
