A New Platform [Intro Post September]
On the Train
"Good morning Voidtreckers, it is day one of the month of Nebula. Points have been updated on the system."
With points updated, everyone can spend the morning shopping. Most people will be expecting the second announcement that comes a few hours later.
"Shortly arriving into a designated void platform. Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." A lurch and a jolt and the windows fill with the fog that means they are at a platform.
The doors open. As usual, those who leave first notice nothing, walking silently, rucksacks on their backs, towards the barriers. A-Qing, Atem, Beauregard Lionett, Casper LeBlanc Jr, Donatello Versus, Frankie Bacon, Ichiban Kasuga, Kumoko, Lena Sabrewing, Mami Tomoe, Mono, Peter Parker, Reno, Shi Qingxuan, Tobari, Wen Ning; all pass across the platform, not looking back. And then they're gone, disappeared through the barriers and into the fog beyond.
But on the platform itself there are new faces. Wearing hoodies in all four colours, in various states of confusion.
For New Passengers
At first all they can see is steam billowing around them as they come to their senses. As their eyes adjust, they find themselves on a platform. The platform is open to a bright blue sky, speckled with a couple of clouds. It's very warm, enough that they will not want to stay in those hoodies for long. Behind them through the fogs is a set of barriers, set in a brick wall and in front of them is a single set of tracks extending both ways into that same thick fog.
They are standing, in clothes that are not their own and a style they might not even recognise. They are carrying a rucksack on their back. For a moment it seems to just be them, alone on the foggy, blistering hot platform; then the fog begins to fade and they realise they arenโt alone.
The platform isn't large, but it is enough to hold the figures scattered around, all facing the tracks, all dressed in cargo trousers and hoodies. Then there is a roaring sound and out of the fog arrives a train. Jet black with gold writing on the side. The Voidtrecker Express. There is a hiss as the doors slide open and out pours a strange assortment of people, over a hundred at least. Some are human, some are less so. Most are wearing the same hoodie in one of the four colours, red, orange, blue and purple, though some are sporting different clothes in a variety of styles.
Behind them, the doors close, and the train is cloaked in the same fog that hides the world beyond the platform.
The Train
After a short time, perhaps ten minutes or so, the fog clears and the doors hiss open again. Those from the train may encourage those on the platform to board. Itโs not like there's anywhere else to go and even if there was, you feel a pull. A need to board, a feeling that staying on the platform would lead to something terrible. If that is not enough, there are plenty of people on the platform now, to encourage them onto the train.
Each ICP shows the same message and next to the screens there are stacks of leaflets written by those on the train, with further information (see
'Publications'). They will also find a bunch of posters around the train and might notice the new clock in the standard coach.
The store rooms have been restocked with fresh ingredients, the ingredient this month is a strange meat, yaddon tail.
For passengers that have bought items, these are also scattered around the luggage carriage in various suitcases and bags. There is a box labelled for purple team containing a stick of rock for each member of purple team, including those who are new. Join in your teams success!
New passengers will find their ticket allows them into their cabins. In most rooms, the occupied beds are obvious, leaving the spotless, empty spaces for the newcomers. Room is tight but there are storage cubbies at the head of each bed, beds fold up and the bottom bunks double as benches for the small table. There is storage under those benches full of spare blankets and pillows.
Departure
A second horn sounds to encourage any stragglers taking advantage of the fresh air, and the doors slide shut. Veteran passengers know what will happen next, but they may wish to brief their new companions.
The train sets off, the fog obscuring the view again as it picks up speed.
"Welcome aboard, passengers of the Voidtrecker Express." A female-coded artificial sounding voice echoes throughout the train. "Please take the time to read the passenger information displayed on the Information and Communication points and familiarise yourself with the layout and emergency exits."
The train begins to tilt, leaving the ground and rising up into the fog-filled sky.
"Entrance into Voidspace imminent. New passengers are advised to remain seated. Entry into Voidspace in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."
A shudder, a jolt, a lurch to the left. A flash of light, colourful and blinding. As quick as it happens it is done. The train seems to steady itself. The fog from the windows is gone now, replaced with a kaleidoscope of ever-changing colours.
Welcome to the Void!

Welcome to the Void!

The greeting dies in her mouth, though, for in the next moment his is on it, and she's very very very confused by what's happening. She's never been kissed before, not even the Hapan princess she's had a stupid crush on since they were teenagers. Or that blonde scientist who traveled with them to Zonama Sekot. And he's kissing her like... well, not like a first kiss. It's weird, what he's doing with his mouth but... okay. It's like sparring? She can do this. Holy kriff, what is happening Solo?!
"Whatโ" She finally manages when they pull back for air, her mind reeling. She could almost feel Jaina laughing at her a galaxy away, and her cheeks burn like they're radioactive. "Not that I didn't like that, but what's going on?"
no subject
Though there's a soft smile on his features for her, eyes brighter and less broody than she might remember. Though his head dips at her question.
"Sorry, I โ" He doesn't quite let her go though either, one hand staying around her waist to keep her a little close if she'll allow it. "We had a mission where we were... married and all those emotions still linger. Made me miss you and I just..." He flusters just a little now, worried she'll hate that he's done this even if she'd kissed him back too. "couldn't help it when I saw you here on the platform." The smile turns a little rueful.
"I'm glad you're back."

You'd think that a Jedi of her caliber, with so many accomplishments under her belt at this age, would be able to take that without batting an eyelash. It's not like it's her first time to be exposed to multiverse weirdness, either. But no. Multiverse weirdness is one thing. Being kissed by the guy you'd had a crush on โ and she'd definitely had a crush on him since that hiding-in-a-closet-from-killer-porgs incident โ is an entirely different beast, and one she's never known how to tame because it's never happened to her.
"I'm glad to be back too," she manages after a while, face still flushed from this very sudden development. She doesn't pull away though. "So..." Would it be dumb to ask what their relationship is now? They can't be married just because he was married to a version of her, can they?
HOLY KRIFF SHE HAS AT LEAST A BOYFRIEND. It does not compute.

He hasn't had luck with many of his relationships, all two he's been in before Diagad. But even with the illusion of a marriage, he and that Jane had found a real connection, even with the memories back and their real lives calling. Even with her having to head home.
Fingers catch a strand of her hair with that simple word. So. Where do they go from here. Do they continue, or try to start a little new? "So..." Is that a hint of a grin though, as he offers her word back to her? Very probably. "Do you want to get settled with your pets and I can tell you about our life there and we can talk about if you want to keep kissing me?"
DO YOU WANT TO JANE? Because he's not one to just assume. But, considering the kiss he just gave her, he'd like to continu kissing her.

As if on cue, or perhaps they know she's looking for them now that her attention's been turned to them, her orange tabby seems to pop out from behind Jon's legs and try to climb up on hers. "Hey there," she coos, picking up her not-a-flerken that wasn't named Neufie, or at least not to her. But she might be persuaded to rename her.
When she's not distracted by the appearance of more pets anyway, because she feels a tickle on the back of her neck before she notices her rock lizard settling on her shoulder. "And where did you come from?" she asks with a delighted laugh. Had he been in the rucksack the whole time?
She's shy when she turns back to Jon though. Because he's offering her a choice of more kisses. This is really an upgrade from stupid one-sided crushes. "Um, yeah. We... better get on the train anyway before these things start complaining," she says, gesturing to the SCA on her wrist with a tilt of her head. She's also very much tempted to hide her face behind the floof in her hands because she's absolutely sure she's glowing. Married! Holy kriff.

There's a pause at the name for the cat and he offers a shy smile. "Or well, sorry, that's what you called her when we were on the other world." And of course, habit calling the cat that now. But he doesn't want her to wonder either, why he does.
"Can I walk you to your cabin?" It sounds very formal, and yet there's a soft smile from him that says he genuinely wants to walk her inside. And a good way to try and not sound weird considering he just called not'Neufie Neufie. Shifting slightly, he motions for her to go first though he'll fall into step next to her.

She knows Neufie's not a flerken. But she wants to keep that little prank going anyway.
The lizard tries to join in on the loving, nuzzling his face against her neck and causing her to laugh since it tickles. She accept Jon's invitation mid-laugh, heading back into the train with him while deep down she's still awed and weirded out by the developments.
"I'm still in 4E," she tells him, before twisting her arm some to show him her SCA. "And still Purple. You?" Just making sure they'll get to do laundry together or something.
