Event: Brace the Storm

It's not all that much of a warning, but it definitely explains the bouts of turbulence. The colours of the void outside the windows whirl and deepen, the train rocking unsteadily. A song usually confined in the spaces between carriages wails within their walls. Emergency lights switch on as the main sets flicker, and anything that could be a danger is shut down, locking the lab and armoury and limiting access to the medical bays to those who truly need to be there.
This may be for the best, as when the voidtreckers move through the train, they will find things to be... peculiar. The stream of choral singing has stuck around, bringing about a general feeling of unease in passengers. Stranger than this is when they move between carriages, and don't always find themselves where they were expecting. They know that the quiet coach should lead to standard, but instead, they end up in the music car, or library.
And within the carriages themselves, all is not as it seems...
The storm rages for three days, colours lashing at the windows, a ghostly song wailing through the walls. The train itself is able to steady after an hour or two, even if the bizarre effects throughout the carriages continue.
Be it as small as colour changing in the music room, emotions getting high over a board game, or even their minds being swept away into stories of other worlds, it will be all the passengers can do to follow the scant wisdom of the train. Stay strong. Stick together.
All storms eventually pass.

OOC NOTES. Remember that the event takes place during Orchestra 7-9 (13-18 November). The ooc information for this event is here. Have fun!

Potato quickly starts drawing.
When she holds up the drawing it looks mostly like she's drawn a bunch of squares over the potato drawing.
Cubes, it is.
no subject
Definitely a deft hand with a knife of any variety.
no subject
Hmm. She needs to draw that.
"This!"
...
She has drawn a bottle. Not helpful!
I haven't said this, but I love interacting with Potato.
Looks about right. Probably.
I'm glad she's very much my 'feel happy' muse :'0
"Yeah!" she cheers with a point. "That's it!! And then we add all the spices and stuff!" Potato continues, pointing again at the spices themselves.
For good reason
u0u
So in go the spices! Those will have to be cooked around in the pan first, and it's going to smell like there's lots of delicious food even before there is any. A curse.
no subject
Then looks at the stovetop, pointing at the pans. Grab the one you want, Potato.
no subject
And now, for the pan. Potato picks it up with a grin. "This one! We have to put it on...ummm..."
She can just draw the notch on the wheel. That works.
no subject
Probably.
She takes a look at those, turning one up a little past half way. That makes sense, right?
no subject
Potato reaches out with her pencil....reaches...
And nudges it one dial back.
"NOW it's perfect."

"Aha-!" She thrusts it upward, beaming. "Spatula!"
BEHOLD!
The weapon of the kitchen.
no subject
She takes it with a shrug, and gets to work.

In the meantime, Potato seems to be looking for other stuff.
"Now that that stuff's cooking, ummm... ...we need the bread! For a bowl..!"
Well, it's not like she can ask Amaya to look for it, since she's busy handling the cooking, but seeing Potato haul out a big loaf of bread must certainly be interesting.
no subject
i just realized i don't think amaya knows she's indestructible (Suffice to say This is Why)
She then vanishes off, looking for...well. Knives.
...
Is that quite wise to let Potato do??

no subject
...With a rather large bread knife. "Okay!" Loaf of bread toppled over, she finds the middle. "Two bowls..!"
To her credit, she's handling this part quite well!
no subject
Just in case.
no subject
There are two halves of bread now, and now Potato is getting to work at the important bit.
Hollowing the bread out.
Fortunately for everyone, the knife is being put to the side. More fortunately she went to wash her hands first. Gotta have clean hands when you're making weird square bread bowls!
no subject
She turns her attention back to the food at hand, snapping her fingers to get Potato's attention, gesturing to it. She knows the proper colour it ought to be, when it's done.
She gestures at her, a thumbs up then a thumbs down with a questioning look. She lifts the pan on the former, puts it down on the latter.
no subject
Oh!! Rushing over to look at the curry, Potato beams. "YEAH!! It's ready!! Which means now..! We can..."
Excuse her, she has to rush back> again, to grab the bread bowls, plates beneath them, and carry them on over. "Put the curry in the bowl! And then we have Bunny Chow!!"
