"Good Morning Passengers, today is day twenty five of the month of Bassoon." Waking up in their beds as always to the announcement passengers will feel a little strange. The hairs on the back of their necks are standing up. If they have any kind of danger sense it is going haywire. They have a moment before a second announcement shines some light on the strange feeling.

"Attention passengers, we have been boarded by inspectors. Please may all passengers have tickets and passes ready for inspection. Please try and stay calm." Calm may be harder for some than others. The feeling can be rationalised, it is similar to the air of expectation at the start of a horror film, or a scary ride. However rationalisation might not last that long as when characters try to leave their cabins they will find the doors are locked. They are trapped.

If anyone has lingered in the gaps between carriages for any length of time they will have no doubt heard the strange sound that can be heard sometimes, almost like faint choral singing. Now it can be heard in the carriages itself. Still faint, but if they are quiet they can hear it in the distance. Almost a cross between singing and crying. Sometimes loud, sometimes barely a murmur but ever present.

The feeling of danger intensifies, heavy footsteps sound outside in the corridors and a heavy breathing, as if coming from a mask. The footsteps move towards the first cabin of the first sleeper carriage and the door slides open...

No. Just that we should be staying calm. [She tilted her head at him, wondering if he felt strange as well.]

I do be being fine. [That might not be true, she doesn't feel fine. But she's not going to admit that she's scared. Being scared is for babies.]

[Swinging his feet around so he could sit on the edge of the bed and that gave her a spot to sit if she'd like. Either way, he reached out and lightly touched her shoulder. He kept the gesture very light and easy to get out of in case she reacts poorly to it.]

Good, because everything will be okay. I'm not going to let anything happen to you.

I do be knowing that. You do be saying that all the time. [He's a protector of children, he won't let her be hurt. But if she hurts Peter or breaks the rules he will make her life very painful. She knows. She lives by this knowledge.

She allows the touch though and even gives a small smile.] Princess do be being scared and I do be thinking that do be worrying Eva.

[ He breaths a short laugh. Alright, point taken. He'd lay off on telling her in every situation that he wasn't going to let her get hurt. Maybe. ]

I think so too. Sometimes animals can sense fear. We all need to try and relax so Princess can stop fretting. You have your knife don't you?

Of course I do be having my knife. [She could stay calm as well to stop Princess, if need be and the weird feelings got too much she could always go into the emptiness. She hadn't known animals could sense fear, that was interesting. She wondered why and how that helped them.]

Will we be fighting the inspectors then?
