Tickets Please
"Good Morning Passengers, today is day twenty five of the month of Bassoon." Waking up in their beds as always to the announcement passengers will feel a little strange. The hairs on the back of their necks are standing up. If they have any kind of danger sense it is going haywire. They have a moment before a second announcement shines some light on the strange feeling.
"Attention passengers, we have been boarded by inspectors. Please may all passengers have tickets and passes ready for inspection. Please try and stay calm." Calm may be harder for some than others. The feeling can be rationalised, it is similar to the air of expectation at the start of a horror film, or a scary ride. However rationalisation might not last that long as when characters try to leave their cabins they will find the doors are locked. They are trapped.
If anyone has lingered in the gaps between carriages for any length of time they will have no doubt heard the strange sound that can be heard sometimes, almost like faint choral singing. Now it can be heard in the carriages itself. Still faint, but if they are quiet they can hear it in the distance. Almost a cross between singing and crying. Sometimes loud, sometimes barely a murmur but ever present.
The feeling of danger intensifies, heavy footsteps sound outside in the corridors and a heavy breathing, as if coming from a mask. The footsteps move towards the first cabin of the first sleeper carriage and the door slides open...

Cabin 1:A
Re: Cabin 1:A
It was alerting her to things being Very Wrong, but not telling her how to escape or where to go. So she's standing a few feet away from the door, every single one of her senses firing at Eleven. It was too bright in their room, there was too much noise that her spider-hearing was picking up, and her sense of touch was out of whack, too. Someone goes to put a hand on her shoulder, or to just brush past, and she flinches away some as if it startled her.
"Don't go near the door. There's something out there." She can hear it. The strange breathing, the heavy footsteps. It's just off.
Eventually, she backs away as far as she can and sits on the floor with her head down, hands over her ears and eyes closed. She has to shut down something, otherwise she's going to panic.
Is this what claustrophobia felt like? 0/10 would not recommend. Thanks. She hates it.
Re: Cabin 1:A
His first instinct is to spring to his feet and grab his sword. Only he has no sword and trying to spring to his feet ends only in him banging his head at the bed above followed by a string of curses. So his next move is to grab the door handle to open them and check what's happening outside. Finding them closed he bangs his fist on the door.
"Open the damned door and face me, you pathetic assholes!"
Because shouting at the door obviously helps. Is the damned thing broken again?! At least they are not floating in the air this time, just stuck inside their cabins. Fëanor doesn't think it's a big improvement.
Only then he notices Gwen curled near the opposite wall her head down with hands covering her ears. He casts one more angry look at the door and decides he can deal with whatever is out there later. Now, that he pays attention he can hear the faint singing in the background. He heard it before but only briefly. Sometimes when he crossed the carriages it was there, in the spaces between them.
Well, he can sing too. He may not have a sword but he can sing. So he does. He sings about the stars that shine, mighty walls that protect, of great open spaces, of the warm wind that blows over endless fields of soft grass and flowers, of the companionship of kindred spirits, of breaking the chains and crumbling of prisons, of courage that tramples any fear.

forgive me my nerdish indulgencefor anyone interested what he is singing and how it may feel: On the songs of power. It's big guns ... but he's angry]Inspector (All cabin mates respond as one thread please)
They step in. Their presence makes the room feel smaller. The door begins to slide shut.

Not that knowing he was walking into a dangerous situation had ever actually stopped him.
But that aside, it wasn't actually that unusual for him to wake up to an unnamed dread. By this point he had plenty of experience in hiding it. So when he wakes this morning Conan quickly buries any paranoid discomfort he feels in favor of inspecting the locked door and wondering whether any of the items in his rucksack would work as a lockpick.

Dreaming of the heavy footsteps, the heavy breathing; for one, fleeting moment, he thought maybe it was a hint that his father would be coming to the train. He dismissed that thought quickly though, especially with the fear that the dream brought. Something else was coming...
And now? It was here.
Luke stayed near the door, his lightsaber in hand -- though unlit -- as he took a defensive stance before the others. He forced himself to breathe, reaching out to the Force to sense what was coming.

His hands are shaking as he reaches into his neat pile of personal belongings and pulls out the ticket he’d arrived with.
“There’s something outside the door,” he tells his roommates in an uncharacteristically small voice. He can barely hear himself speak over the singing/sobbing filling his ears and usually brash and confident vampire curls in on himself, covering his head with his hands. He can’t breathe.

It was a bad feeling, a bit like being near an ayakashi that wanted to make you feel bad and ruin your day. But also a bit different. He shuffled to the edge of the bed. "What's going on?"
The voice had said to have tickets ready so he found his, it was in his hoodie pocket from before he had changed into his pyjamas. The voice had also said to stay calm so he did his best to keep his spirits up! He was sure it would be alright!
Existential dread is my preferred alarm clock.

Cabin 2:E
Re: Cabin 2:E
She can probably take 2 hours of this, before she's just going to vanish from the cabin by phasing/teleporting through a dark-energy-circle in the wall. (She's heading for the Quiet Cabins.)

Quiet Cabins
So to the Quiet Cabins she fled via short-range teleporting thanks to her dark-energy. Once alone, Raven levitated herself, legs crossed and arms out. "Azerath Metrion Zinthos...azerath metrion zinthos...." She had to remain calm--for everyone else's sake as much as her own. She remembered the last time her fear had gotten out of control, with her powers.

They get louder and soon a huge figure, dressed in what looks like metal power armour appears outside the booth of the quiet coach Raven is sat in. It's head turns. It is wearing a mark but it seems that it is looking straight at her.
