What: Maglor is still recovering from being trapped
Where: All over the train but ending in the Standard Coach

When a musician gets stressed, they tend to start playing. And have a hard time stopping. Ever since the door unlocked, Maglor hasn't been back to his cabin. Hasn't slept. Hasn't rest. Just took his harp and left. Who would go looking for him, anyway? He's just one broken elf! No one of consequence.

Random little chords can be heard, plucked along. But for the most part, he's fled when he's seen anyone come close. But it's a small train, and it's only a matter of time before he's caught.

And eventually, he gets tired enough to end up sitting quietly, staring out into the Void as his fingers pluck away at his harp.

He hisses and leans over, fishing around in his cloak until he finds the bottle. Habit leads him to uncorking it with his teeth. The spicy scent of herbs fills the air and when he places the ointment on Maglor's skin, it will numb some of the pain.

"Madoka in particular concerns me."

She is so small and she has no idea about her worth.

"I had hoped it would all pass without incident, but you and I are travelers. We don't like to be kept in cages."

His lips quirk, somewhat bitter, mostly resigned. "You thought the glove stopped the bleeding?"

But the care is enough and he nuzzles his brother's shoulder, watching him work.

"You will get through to her, given time." Maedhros always does.

He dabs at the blood with a handkerchief before applying the salve. Shaking his head, Maedhros nudges their heads together.

"I intend to protect her from the battles. She may not appreciate it, but that is right."

He hums quietly and rests his head on his brother's strong shoulder.

"They always protest being protected," he muses, letting his eyes close and just breath.

"This place deepens their misconceptions." by enlisting them and placing expectations on them. Maedhros scowls before he softens and rests against his brother in return.

"Any Elven parent would throw a fit."

"We should be used to it by now," he comments quietly. Not getting their way.

"Any parent would."

[castintoflames]

"They are so young." he wrinkles his nose, "Kano, most of them will not see their first century. I cannot imagine..."

Maglor starts to hum, seeking to sooth his brother's sorrow and pain at the thought of children dying. "But they live so bright and fierce." Like Feanor.

The sound is like a blanket or a warm fire on a cold night. Maedhros calms himself, succumbing somewhat to the sensation.

"I don't like seeing stars flicker. They should last forever."

They know how to calm the other, if only temporarily. Maglor nuzzles his brother's shoulder again.

"I know, Nelyo. I feel the same. But it is not our choice, is it?"

[castintoflames]

"Very little is our choice." he grumbles, glancing at the window. A shadow crosses the pale iris of the eye Morgoth had injured and he shudders.

"But I can carry them to safety."

[seawanderer]

"We can only do our best." He free his hands from his brother's grasp so he can wrap his arms around Maedhros.

"We can carry them to safety."

"I don't wish to endanger you any further." he loves his shadow - his right hand - but it is time Kano stands in the light.

"You are a child too to me." his lips twitch.

[seawanderer]

He far prefers to follow than to lead! Maglor leans on his brother, snuggling close.

"I go where you go. Or have you forgotten your promise?" To never leave him behind again.

[castintoflames]

"No, I haven't." Maedhros grabs a blanket and wraps it around his brother, "But do not expect me to not defend you with all that is left of me."

[seawanderer]

"Only if I can be right there defending your back too." He's the one who lived through it all. Technically. He doesn't shake off the blanket though.

[castintoflames]

"Look at me, Kano. What damage will faze me?" he shrugs and gives Maglor a slightly paternal frown, "I have been honed for it."

[seawanderer]

Maglor obeys, studying his brother's face. "That does not matter, Nelyo. You are my brother. I am your right hand. Your shadow. I always have been."

[castintoflames]

"You are precious." he growls, pain and anger flashing in his eyes, "I took advantage of you. I won't anymore."

This brother of his is one of his jewels.
