New Rooms! Day Twelve

Finally, after the evacuation is over it is time to board the train once again. As the doors close and they shudder out into the void the familiar voice speaks.

"Welcome back Voidtreckers. Well done on your successful mission. There has been a small accommodation change so please all check your tickets to ensure you find the correct cabin."

Indeed some passengers may have already tried to enter their rooms to find they cannot. If they check their tickets or the passenger roster they will find their room has been changed.

Anyone who has moved cabins will find that any things they did not take with them on the mission have been moved from their room and are packed neatly in a suitcase in their new cabin.

Time to greet your new roommates and start the negotiating for top bunks all over again.

Well, at least it's still a cabin E. Still, Mako was just getting used to his new roommates, and now he has to meet a whole new group of people. None of them are ones he's particularly familiar with, either. Still, he smiles politely as he enters the cabin, waving at all of them.

"Hi everyone! I'm Mako Tsunami! I hope we can get along well." He first hurries to secure his own items, glancing around at the various bunks. "I don't have any particular preference for which bed to take," he notes. "So if any of you do, I'm fine with you picking first."

Inigo checks his ticket the moment he can hear that announcement, but.. well, it seems like there's no chance there. Still just cabin three A. He heads over to the cabin, taking a quick peek inside, but.. well, it doesn't look different? Maybe nothing changed at all, who knows.

But regardless, he lingers outside of the cabin, looking around to see who else may be around.

"Anyone got cabin A on their ticket now? Or still?"

Madoka most definitely headed straight for her usual cabin. If it hadn't been for the sudden announcement, she totally would have wandered straight into the wrong room. She starts blushing the moment she looks at her ticket and realises her error, instead quickly heading over to cabin E in the second rather than the first sleeper.

She peeks her head in, looking a little shy. "Um, I think I need to sleep here now..?"

Ignis was tired and in need of some rest and a shower. Relieved that he'd come home and his tiny team was in one piece, he gratefully boarded the train, refusing to think of how he'd made it last time.

The voice had him pause and he checked his ticket. Green eyes blinked in surprise as he now had another cabin assignment. This couldn't be right, and he double and triple checked but the ticket now bore 1-C. He knew he was tired but this was preposterous, why had it changed while he was away?

There'd be no negotiation for a bunk because he liked being closer to the ground though he was certainly no stranger to heights. His stuff was here and he awkwardly stared at it.

"Why were we reassigned?" He's talking to himself here.

Tony was glad to be back on the train. As much as these missions seemed to give his new life meaning and a much needed adrenaline rush, they were tiring and he was glad to return to his projects and other activities on the train.

He frowned a little at the announcement and looked at his ticket. Nothing was strange there, so he didn't think much more about it. He considered going straight to Ignis' room but he wanted to drop off his rucksack first and freshen up. Stepping into the room, he was thrown off to find the very man he had been thinking about in front of him. He paused with a confused look and looked on the outside of the doorway at the list of residents.

Huh.

"Well, this is convenient," he remarked, giving Ignis a smirk and coming up to slap him in the ass.

Tony's voice barely registered before he felt his ass being touched. Knowing two ladies were going to be in here with them, Ignis jumped and turned around to face the man. "You shouldn't do that openly since we're going to be sharing this space with Little One and Eva." Note he didn't say the gesture wasn't welcome or that he didn't enjoy it.

This was its own problem but it wasn't unworkable, they'd solve it. But green eyes noted that no one was here at the moment. So a smile appeared on the advisor's face, and he lifted a hand to gently touch Tony's face. Relief flooded through him at both of them being safe and sound and more importantly, together.

"It is convenient darling, but it does make me wonder how closely we're monitored."

Tony looked around. "Who else is here?" He joked back, though there was a tightness to his jaw that indicated he was taking that warning more seriously than he was letting on. This might be convenient in some ways, but this did pose some new challenges. The last thing he wanted was for Buttercup to witness something she shouldn't. He was a little less concerned about Eva because she was a bit older, but he still wanted to avoid that hornet's nest of drama.

When Ignis' hand touched his face, he tossed his rucksack onto the floor and wrapped his arms around the advisor. Kissing him solidly, he could feel some of the stress from the past week slipping away. No one had died or gotten seriously injured. He'd have to do an inventory later regarding what had been taken from the world that would be useful here, but that was for some other time. Right now, he was going to enjoy these few minutes of being alone with his boyfriend.

"Feanor mentioned a similar worry during out last council meeting. This place seems to have no privacy whatsoever between us and the conductor or whoever is in charge. It might be hard to hide the fact that something keeps sending me back to my bunk every single night." He looked at the bunk and then back at Ignis. "Have a preference on which bunk you'd like to have as officially yours? I make no promises of staying out of your bed though."

"No one at the moment." Ignis countered, studying his lover's face just for a moment. He too was more concerned with Buttercup than an adult, but still she was a lady and that was the way Eva should be treated. Chivalry wasn't dead with this one and he would protect the ladies as best he could. Living with men before bothered him as far as his relationship went, but this was a new level of bother.

Before he knew it, Tony's arms came around him and that kiss was definitely worth waiting for. All of the worry and stress he kept from others melted beneath his lover's hold and Ignis was grateful to feel the weight slip away. This surely what it would be like to come home to Tony after a long day at the office, busy with meetings and the king no doubt if they were back home on Eos.

Despite the serious words spoken, the advisor still managed a smile at Tony. "Waking up without you was indeed troublesome." The question of bunks then came up and he couldn't hep but laugh. Quickly he noted no one had come in yet so he kissed his boyfriend again, speaking low against those lips. "You know all too well that I prefer the bottom."

runs_on_batteries: (failing to not laugh)

[personal profile] runs_on_batteries 2019-11-24 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
There was chivalry and then there was being cooped up in a train where there was no privacy ever. Was it really his fault if someone walked in on them if he put an effort to keeping that from happening? There was only so much a man with specific needs could do! Okay, maybe not. But he would try for both Eva's sake and Ignis' dignity.

Tony rolled his eyes at that question, but his eyes sparkled with mischief. "Yes, darling. I know you prefer being on bottom, but I'm talking about the bunks. Get your head out of the gutter, Tiger." His shoulders shook as he tried and failed to keep from laughing at his own joke.

And who else is right behind her but Ple Two? She pauses when she spots Madoka checking out their new room, and then approaches when it doesn't seem like much is happening. This is... nice. Because Madoka is nice. Hopefully the rest of their room is pretty chill too, though. "What a coincidence."
faithfulsupport: (Ohs noes a smile)

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-24 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"They're one and the same, especially if you knew where I was leading that." Ignis smirked, giving his boyfriend another kiss. He could feel Tony's shoulders shaking and he pulled back a little, not quite getting the laughter out of his tone.

"The bottom bunk is fine if you prefer a straight answer Mister Stark."

It was so weird calling Tony that, but that was what other people called him out of respect of course, so he would follow suit at least that far for now. Reluctantly he tugged himself out of his lover's arms so he could get on the task of getting his clothes put away.

For some reason being in here now was weird but he could certainly get used to it quickly. Did wishes really come true on here as a few had already? No that was just wishful thinking. But speaking of wishful thinking..

"So how many more project requests have you managed to pick up on this mission?"

And here Conan had just gotten used to knowing that two of his roommates knew his real age and name. He'd actually been rather looking forward to not being treated as a little kid in his room, at least.

He checks his ticket, making sure to keep his hand shielding the actual name printed on it, and makes his way to Cabin 1-B. There he starts checking over the bunks to see where his stuff had been moved. He had a book, and he wasn't about to lose track of that.

He grinned, visibly pleased Ignis could humor him at least in private. He rolled his eyes at being called 'Mister Stark'. "Don't you start that too!" He retorted with a laugh. "I'll get that cubby cleaned out for you then."

The small private storage that every bed had next to it was kept neat, but for Tony it was rather full too. Between his clothes, the rucksack when they weren't on missions, a couple bottles of alcohol, a jar with some pills inside, and toiletries, there wasn't much room left. Even with that, it didn't take him long before it was cleared and everything tossed onto the upper bunk. "We could use this bunk as storage if you have any more things you want to bring in here. I'm sure we can get someone in the other cabin to let you in and fetch your items."

He moved out of the way and sat down on the edge of Eva's bed to hang out while Ignis unpacked. "I expected more than I got, actually. I kept the shield I had been given and I plan on testing it's strength more thoroughly. Did you hear any feedback about the tasers I gave the children?"
faithfulsupport: (Casual)

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-25 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
A smirk. "Would you prefer I use the term Master Stark?" That could be fun in its own way, and only used in private of course. But he stepped back for Tony to start cleaning things out and so he waited patiently. For some reason he wasn't surprised at the amount of stuff coming out of there, but he said nothing and just observed instead.

Green eyes blinked inquisitively at the older man. "Storage? I'm to sleep there in case you hadn't realized." Actually he figured Tony would end up on the bottom bunk with him more often than not, but whatever worked in reality. Looking through his things now, his head cocked to the side. "It appears I have everything of mine."

Ignis was quiet for a moment, but the only way to know was to push. "I suppose you don't have an inventory on precisely what you have in your workroom?" He had an answer for this if he needed it.

[personal profile] runs_on_batteries 2019-11-25 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, definitely," Tony answered with a wicked grin. "But only when we're not talking about the bunk."

As he set the last of his items on the upper bunk, he looked equally confused at Ignis' question. He pointed to the bottom bunk. "You're sleeping here. I'm inviting myself to join you." He flashed an ornery grin at that, daring Ignis to challenge him. "I was meaning storage for this upper one since it'll go unused." That did bring up a question, he wasn't what the answer was. "You don't think they'll force me to the other bunk every night like they did with the separate rooms, do you?" That would be downright obnoxious.

He was also curious when Ignis said he had everything with him. "You brought all your things in your rucksack or are there now things in there that you'd left behind when going to the planet?" This place could be so strange.

Tony watched Ignis, trying to figure out what was going on in that pretty little head of his. "No, I don't. I have some notes on what raw materials I have, but I haven't updated them in a while and I keep other things there too that aren't just materials." And people kept coming in to bother him in his workroom, so items of theirs kept being left behind. "Why?"

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-25 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course." came the reply with a sly grin. This could be fun and a new game to play.

"I had figured that part out." There would be no challenge, he just wondered how Tony planned to explain this to the ladies or better yet to maneuver around it and them. But that was later and right now he had to deal with sorting his things. "They've given me my suitcase conveniently." Ignis said, pointing to the thing and shaking his head at the bunk question. "It would be rather redundant considering you'd only be teleporting a short distance and I have everything I need here." He didn't say Tony was included in that statement.

"We did something along those lines of crafting back home. Maybe I should come in and catalog things for you since you're so busy." It would work to his advantage to do this, there was nothing better than getting actual hands on with whatever was there. Plus it would give him the advantage of spending more time with Tony as well.
runs_on_batteries: (huh curious)

[personal profile] runs_on_batteries 2019-11-25 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Tony frowned as he looked at the suitcase and put a hand to his face. How had he missed seeing that thing? It couldn't be that he'd being solely focused on the man in front of him and the fact the girls weren't in the room. Nope. That couldn't be it.

He wasn't sure just how they were going to do this with the girls yet. They definitely needed to be respectful, but he wasn't willing to go completely chaste every waking minute either. It was a balance you learned as a parent with small children. It was important they saw a healthy, happy marriage (or relationship, in their case) but obviously nothing vulgar or inappropriate. That could take some thought.

"We're both going to pretend I didn't ask that." Because that had been stupid. He nodded in agreement that it would also be stupid for the people on the train to move him one bunk up every night. "It really creeps me out that someone was moving me every night."

Tony considered this a moment before giving Ignis a grin. "Sure. I can't promise I'll always remember to tell you when I use something but I can certainly try. You wouldn't also be interested in taking over the library that Peter dropped the ball with, would you?"
faithfulsupport: (Rather thoughtful)

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-25 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
"It wasn't a comfortable feeling, knowing in the morning you were literally zapped away from my arms." Yes that was a complaint in fact. The grin was reassuring, Tony hadn't suspected a thing, and Ignis was going to see if there was any iron and give it to Curufin to work with. It had to be iron for the 'ironic' symbolism, and he wouldn't accept anything else.

To the library question the advisor nodded. "I'm more than happy to help you out, especially with one of those." A library and books would give him more time to read as well. If books lived on the train, who knew what recipehs he might find and other 'romance' novels he could 'happen' to come across.

Spending more time with his boyfriend of course made Ignis infinitely happy. It would also give him plenty of opportunity to check on him and keep an eye on him just in case something happened. Of course there was food and..that other thing they'd have to try and figure out now that there were ladies in the room. So taking the time to investigate other places was definitely worth it.

But his main objective besides spending time with Tony was to find that particular ore.

Tony reached out for Ignis' hand. Drawing the man a little closer, he pressed his lips on the back of his boyfriend's fingers. "You know I'd never have done that to you if I had the choice." He hated that it made Ignis worry.

And no, Tony hadn't the slightest idea the advisor was doing anything but being OCD. His best guess was after a mission like this Ignis might be feeling starved for some control in his life and Tony was happy to give him something to focus his mind on.

"I appreciate it. I've been purchasing some books from the train and I know others are too. It would benefit everyone to have more on hand." He sighed. There would always be the risk that someone could come and not return the books whether it be intentional or not.

"I'm assuming it'll be too awkward for you to use the 'sock on the door' method of keeping the girls out when we need privacy, right?"

Ignis turned a bright red and took his hand back even as he shyly listened to Tony's words. Gestures like that were rare and wonderful but they still had the effect of making him blush and turn his head away.

But he refocused on the library project which sounded like a good idea. And he would invite Raven in on it too since she might appreciate doing such a thing. Besides, it would give them more time to spend together and he did want to teach her how to dance as a payback of sorts for her invaluable assistance with Madoka.

"That it would." Pushing his glasses up onto his face with two fingers, his eyes met Tony's in a disapproving sort of look for that last question. It didn't even deserve a verbal reply.

A few steps behind them both is Raven, as she'd checked her ticket to find it was the same. Of course, her plan was to grab her backpack and stuff and relocate to a quiet Cabin room for a day or so. Mostly because she'd been dealing with so many people lately she didn't really want to interact with anyone. Friend or otherwise.

Blinking though, when she recognized both Ple Two and Madoka. Paused, before clearing her throat gently. "You two have been relocated? I usually grab one of the top-bunks, but I'm not picky honestly. At least as long as it's quiet."

She was exhausted but all in all that mission had gone better than the last. Still she was actually glad to be back on the train. As strange as it once had been it was starting to feel familiar, a place to go back to where everything would be the same.

Or most things, she heard the announcement and wrinkled her nose curiously. Had she been moved? She checked her ticket but no, her room was the same. She got to the door and read the screen outside. Ignis.

She scanned her ticket and entered, blinking when she realised Ignis and Tony were already there.

It wouldn't have worked anyway given the girls wouldn't know what it meant either, but he rolled his eyes at that glare. "That was funny and you know it," he protested with a smirk.

He got up and reached out to ran a hand affectionately along Ignis' bicep with the hand not already in the advisor's. He had almost, almost, gotten close enough to Ignis to kiss him when the door opened. Stepping back quickly, he let go of Ignis' hand and arm and saw Buttercup enter the room. He was torn between feeling glad to see her and irritated he hadn't gotten his kiss.

Rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, he tried for as casual of a smile as he could muster. "Hey, welcome home, kid."
faithfulsupport: (Relaxing)

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-25 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
He waited for that kiss but it never came. Ignis still didn't find that sock comment funny at all but he understood that something like that was important with two ladies in the room. Hearing the door open all that warmth was lost and the advisor could feel the tension in his body ready.

Turning to look at a familiar face, he couldn't help but smile. Ignis had begun to think of this one as Tony's daughter even if in reality she wasn't. Still, he was happy to see her all the same.

Thinking back on the inspectors and what Tony had said about their effect on her ran through his mind. And now he was here to protect all of them, especially his mate and this little one. None of that showed on his face as he nodded, relieved to find her well after this last mission.

"Welcome back."

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2019-11-25 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
She glanced between them. Tony was smiling but he looked strange, not angry though and that was the important thing. She smiled at them and tilted her head. Home? Was that what this was? She supposed it was, the place they all stayed, the place they came back to.

"Hello. Do you both be being alright?"

Manners were important. She unshouldered her rucksack and pushed it up onto her bed before sitting down on the floor and tugging off her boots. She still hated them, but she was glad she had worn them on that mission.
