New Rooms! Day Twelve

Finally, after the evacuation is over it is time to board the train once again. As the doors close and they shudder out into the void the familiar voice speaks.

"Welcome back Voidtreckers. Well done on your successful mission. There has been a small accommodation change so please all check your tickets to ensure you find the correct cabin."

Indeed some passengers may have already tried to enter their rooms to find they cannot. If they check their tickets or the passenger roster they will find their room has been changed.

Anyone who has moved cabins will find that any things they did not take with them on the mission have been moved from their room and are packed neatly in a suitcase in their new cabin.

Time to greet your new roommates and start the negotiating for top bunks all over again.

"It wasn't a comfortable feeling, knowing in the morning you were literally zapped away from my arms." Yes that was a complaint in fact. The grin was reassuring, Tony hadn't suspected a thing, and Ignis was going to see if there was any iron and give it to Curufin to work with. It had to be iron for the 'ironic' symbolism, and he wouldn't accept anything else.

To the library question the advisor nodded. "I'm more than happy to help you out, especially with one of those." A library and books would give him more time to read as well. If books lived on the train, who knew what recipehs he might find and other 'romance' novels he could 'happen' to come across.

Spending more time with his boyfriend of course made Ignis infinitely happy. It would also give him plenty of opportunity to check on him and keep an eye on him just in case something happened. Of course there was food and..that other thing they'd have to try and figure out now that there were ladies in the room. So taking the time to investigate other places was definitely worth it.

But his main objective besides spending time with Tony was to find that particular ore.

Tony reached out for Ignis' hand. Drawing the man a little closer, he pressed his lips on the back of his boyfriend's fingers. "You know I'd never have done that to you if I had the choice." He hated that it made Ignis worry.

And no, Tony hadn't the slightest idea the advisor was doing anything but being OCD. His best guess was after a mission like this Ignis might be feeling starved for some control in his life and Tony was happy to give him something to focus his mind on.

"I appreciate it. I've been purchasing some books from the train and I know others are too. It would benefit everyone to have more on hand." He sighed. There would always be the risk that someone could come and not return the books whether it be intentional or not.

"I'm assuming it'll be too awkward for you to use the 'sock on the door' method of keeping the girls out when we need privacy, right?"

Ignis turned a bright red and took his hand back even as he shyly listened to Tony's words. Gestures like that were rare and wonderful but they still had the effect of making him blush and turn his head away.

But he refocused on the library project which sounded like a good idea. And he would invite Raven in on it too since she might appreciate doing such a thing. Besides, it would give them more time to spend together and he did want to teach her how to dance as a payback of sorts for her invaluable assistance with Madoka.

"That it would." Pushing his glasses up onto his face with two fingers, his eyes met Tony's in a disapproving sort of look for that last question. It didn't even deserve a verbal reply.

She was exhausted but all in all that mission had gone better than the last. Still she was actually glad to be back on the train. As strange as it once had been it was starting to feel familiar, a place to go back to where everything would be the same.

Or most things, she heard the announcement and wrinkled her nose curiously. Had she been moved? She checked her ticket but no, her room was the same. She got to the door and read the screen outside. Ignis.

She scanned her ticket and entered, blinking when she realised Ignis and Tony were already there.

It wouldn't have worked anyway given the girls wouldn't know what it meant either, but he rolled his eyes at that glare. "That was funny and you know it," he protested with a smirk.

He got up and reached out to ran a hand affectionately along Ignis' bicep with the hand not already in the advisor's. He had almost, almost, gotten close enough to Ignis to kiss him when the door opened. Stepping back quickly, he let go of Ignis' hand and arm and saw Buttercup enter the room. He was torn between feeling glad to see her and irritated he hadn't gotten his kiss.

Rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, he tried for as casual of a smile as he could muster. "Hey, welcome home, kid."

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-25 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
He waited for that kiss but it never came. Ignis still didn't find that sock comment funny at all but he understood that something like that was important with two ladies in the room. Hearing the door open all that warmth was lost and the advisor could feel the tension in his body ready.

Turning to look at a familiar face, he couldn't help but smile. Ignis had begun to think of this one as Tony's daughter even if in reality she wasn't. Still, he was happy to see her all the same.

Thinking back on the inspectors and what Tony had said about their effect on her ran through his mind. And now he was here to protect all of them, especially his mate and this little one. None of that showed on his face as he nodded, relieved to find her well after this last mission.

"Welcome back."

She glanced between them. Tony was smiling but he looked strange, not angry though and that was the important thing. She smiled at them and tilted her head. Home? Was that what this was? She supposed it was, the place they all stayed, the place they came back to.

"Hello. Do you both be being alright?"

Manners were important. She unshouldered her rucksack and pushed it up onto her bed before sitting down on the floor and tugging off her boots. She still hated them, but she was glad she had worn them on that mission.

It was home enough for him. He was okay with others not viewing it that way. If he had the ability he'd send people who had lives to look forward to back to their worlds. He and his new elven family would remain and whoever else wanted to join them. Although, given Buttercup's background, he was less sure if he would be willing to send everyone home who might want to.

"Very well. We're just surprised about the new arrangements. I wonder who else was moved." His gaze shifted to Ignis and he smirked at him. "I had thought I might be annoyed if and when someone dared come and take Ash's spot, but I suppose I'll give you a pass. You make me dinner sometimes so it's the least I could do."
faithfulsupport: (Indeed)

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-25 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
"We're fine." Ignis replied easily. He watched Buttercup carefully but didn't dare interfere with whatever she was working on.

And then Tony started running his mouth. He got a firm look for his comment about Ash and got his clothes together for a shower he planned to take alone at this point. The bunny was still a sore spot for him, recalling how Tony had called her an eleven on a scale of one to ten. But Ignis never took point with it. However, there were times like this when it rubbed him the wrong way.

A fake smile faded quickly as he settled his things in. The faster he got that done, the faster he could take a shower and figure this out.
knifewithnoname: (yes okay)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2019-11-25 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
She tilted her head, it was true that it would be weird to have someone who was not Ash here. But Ignis was alright and he did make good food which made him alright in her book.

Boots off she clambered up onto the top bunk that she had claimed as her own, she began unpacking, tugging things out of her rucksack. She kept her eyes on Tony and Ignis though, she had noticed the way Ignis had stopped smiling and got a stern look in his eye. Did he not like Ash? Or maybe he didn't like that Tony was telling him he could stay here in exchange for making dinner.

"Mister Stark did no be meaning it. He can be cooking for himself, he do be being good at it too."

Well crap. That was the look he usually got when he was in trouble with the other man. Surely Ignis understood he was kidding right? He glanced at Buttercup and wondered if maybe the younger man thought this was Tony's way of covering up their relationship. Whatever it was, it clearly Ignis was ticked off at him and Tony was in the wrong for it.

Before he could think of what to say, Buttercup in her adorable innocence was defending him. It was so sweet and he gave her a smile. She was getting a present soon. He wasn't sure what but something. Didn't they have stuffed animals in the train store? Was she too old for that? He'd ask Peter.

"Thanks, Buttercup. What kind of cookies do you want next?" He asked. "Are you tired of pumpkin yet or would you like to try some pumpkin cookies with icing on top?" It was an old fashioned recipe, but it was tasty and he was sure if he made it once for Ignis the other man would make it even better. Speaking of the advisor, he moved to lean against the door frame. He stayed to the outside of it though, so if Ignis wanted to move back and forth between the rooms he could. "Are you alright, Tiger? You know I was just kidding. I'm really glad you're here."
faithfulsupport: (You know better)

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-27 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
The advisor smiled at the little girl. "Yes, he can cook." The admission was fine, other people could cook. The part about Ash stung his ass but he would either take that up privately or let it go. As it was his green eyes raked over Tony as he leaned against the door frame.

The older man got a polite nod in response, nothing would be discussed here. "I'm fine of course." He appreciated his mate staying out of the way, because it allowed him to move swifter to get his goals accomplished. It was interesting to hear Tony offer to bake for Buttercup, but it was just adorable to see the parent come out at the most unexpected times, personal thorns aside.

There wasn't much else left to do and then Ignis was hitting the shower alone.

She was not sick of pumpkin cookies, or any kind of cookies at all to be honest. Ones with icing on top sounded amazing. Sweet things were her favorite. She continued unpacking her things, watching the two men curiously. Something was strange. She wasn't sure what though, more investigation was needed.

Tony called Ignis Tiger though, she wasn't sure why but maybe Tony named everyone he liked.

She watched silently, making her unpacking as quiet as possible, to fade into the background.

He wasn't getting much of a response out of her, but it was likely due to Ignis being a pain in the ass. He sighed. "You're not fine- even Buttercup can tell. So spit it out." He really wasn't sure what he'd done. He just knew he'd done something. Normally he wouldn't care either, but this was Ignis.

"We both know I'm going to annoy you until you say something, so you might as well get it over with."

[personal profile] faithfulsupport 2019-11-29 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
The fact that Tony was even bringing Buttercup into this had him narrow his eyes at the older man disapprovingly. How dare he bring someone else into this? But this wasn't a matter to be discussed in front of her or anyone else, this was between them and that's where it would stay.

"You're free to annoy me of course if that is indeed how you see it. I have a shower to take and then I'm heading to the kitchen."

He intended to make cookies for his new roommates and it would be a good way to relax and do something productive instead of stay here and fuss with Tony. He too had noted the little girl not reply to Tony at all, which was unusual so he'd leave and allow them to chat.

The advisor finished his sorting and gathered up his things, turning to go. "Now if you'll both be so kind as to excuse me, I'm going for that shower now."
knifewithnoname: (silence)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2019-11-30 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I will be seeing you." She nodded at him, quiet and polite. She hadn't seen him like this before, or Tony. Maybe they didn't like each other? Maybe one of them had insulted the other. Either way it would be difficult for them to share a room together.

She would have to investigate further. She watched Ignis leave the room then turned her gaze to Tony, tilting her head.

She could imagine why someone would get angry at Tony. She got angry at him too but held it down, it was dangerous anger because it could spark Tony's anger. She hadn't seen Ignis angry, she imagined she'd barely seen Tony angry. What would happen if they blew up at each other?

It might be dangerous to be in the middle of that. But also interesting. To see what happened when they both got angry, especially if she wasn't the cause.

"Fine, but for the record, you're being an incredible pain in the ass!" Tony tossed back as the bathroom door shut and chuckled. He looked up at Buttercup and smirked and remarked playfully, "Good thing he's cute, right?"

He hoisted himself up on the opposite top bunk from her, now his spot. He had an annoying amount of stuff to sort through now that he had to pull everything out of his cubby hole. "Think it might be time for another party? We didn't get a post-mission celebration like we did the last time."

Ignis appreciated Buttercup being more of an adult than the other actual adult in the room. That little girl was such a sweetheart, maybe he'd get the jump on the cookies, since he hadn't heard her decline them. Maybe it would also sweeten Tony's disposition too until he received a proper scolding for bringing children into a matter they clearly weren't meant to be in the middle of.

He regretted her presence only in the fact that he had an issue to take up with Tony and of course he wasn't going to air any grievances with her present. And he noticed something. While he was taking a shower, normally Tony would come in, but now he wasn't. It was rather interesting to note. Was he afraid of what Buttercup and Eva would say? Tony hadn't sounded that mad if the pain in the ass comment was anything to go by. The tone had been playful, and dare he say affectionate.

Did that mean that he had no plans for them to sleep together even? It was an interesting puzzle piece, so the advisor hurried with the shower and came out later, dropping off his stuff. His green eyes stared hard up into Tony's on his perch for a moment but then he abruptly stopped the intense stare, and headed for the kitchen.

"You did no even be being at the celebration. You did be being ill." She pointed out. Technically she hadn't been there either as her and Peter had just stayed on the train after escaping from the goblin portal. But she doesn't want to remind him of that.

She paused as Ignis came into the room, watching him as he stared at Tony. What was his problem? What was he angry about?

She was quiet a moment after he left, thinking.

"Even more of a reason we should have another party, right?" Tony pointed out to Buttercup. "Everyone deserves a party for surviving this crap around here. We'll make a bunch of sweets and some treats for adults-" Like alcohol, "And live it up right."

He grinned at Ignis when he came out of the bathroom, Tony's feet dangling off the edge of his top bunk. When the man didn't say anything, Tony swatted him with a pillow when he got close enough. "Hey! Tiger, what do you think about a post-Hell World party? Think you'd be up for that?"
faithfulsupport: (Looking over shoulder)

He'd heard Tony call after him after being looked at. A party..well he did feel as if he owed his team a party after not being there after the first mission, due to having been rescued by Tony.

Looking back over his shoulder before leaving the room, his gaze returned to Tony's face. "If that's truly what you want to do to do then by all means have at it."

And then Ignis left.
knifewithnoname: (yeah I'm not buying that)

She's not sure parties were things that people deserve but she nodded anyways, going quiet as Ignis looked back, spoke and left. She really doesn't know what Tony has done to offend him but she's never seen Ignis look so annoyed.

She wrinkled her nose at him and looked back at Tony, raising an eyebrow.

Tony rolled his eyes at Ignis' response. "What the hell? He left again."

Hopping off the bed, he gave Buttercup a mischeivous grin. He holds up a hand to help the young girl down. "Let's go make him feed us."

"He did be leaving. I do no be thinking he do be liking you very much."

Or maybe he didn't like her very much, but she had never gotten that impression before. He had made her food and always spoke kindly to her.

She took his hand and jumped lightly from the bed. She wasn't sure that was the best idea, but she also wasn't going to argue.

Tony chuckled, finding her innocent perspective on the situation highly amusing. "It's alright. He and I are just joking around with each other. We're actually good friends," he reassures her. He didn't feel the need to share precisely what their relationship was, although tonight she'd find out when they slept in the same bed. Nothing inappropriate, he promises, just sleep.

As they followed Ignis to the kitchen- whether the other man knew they were coming or not- he decided to try his question again. "You didn't answer me about the cookies. There are lots of different kind, so which one would you like next?"
