Winter Wonderland [Event]

”Good Morning passengers. Today is day Twenty Four of the month of Catfish. You may wish to look out of the window.”

As passengers wake in their beds they will indeed notice something different about the light. If they look out of the window, instead of the ever changing void they will see white slopes of mountains, flakes of snow alling down around them and frost covered trees zipping past the windows. If they glance at the ICP on the table they will see a message.

Investigating the dressing cart they will find the drawers and cupboards unlocked once again. However, instead of the fantasy-esque clothing of world #25768 they will find thick winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves. There are heavy fur lined boots and even some ice skates.

Entering the garden carriage they will see that the glass dome of the roof has opened, leaving the carriage exposed to a bright blue sky. Any nonsense of the past few weeks has vanished, leaving the carriage pristine. Not that that is easy to notice as it is covered in a thick layer of snow. The paths are clearer, a light dusting of snow but easy to talk through. Around the paths the drifts are high, perfect for snowman building or a snowball fight.

The streams and the pond in the centre are solid ice. Anyone brave enough to try to find the ice holds their weight for ice skating.

And the ICP message was correct. There is hot chocolate in the stores.

"Oh I didn't think of that! Maybe we should go to our rooms to get our towels first!" He doesn't want to make the floor all wet! Even though it won't be too difficult to mop up. He doesn't want anyone to slip and fall just because they were dripping everywhere!

"Ehhhh." Kaito debates this. "Let's try the dressing car. It's closer."

He doesn't want to drag a cold and wet Romeo all the way to the rooms and then back again.

"Okay!" Romeo nodded with a grin, "Let's go find some towels!"

He thought the rooms were closer, but the train is a very confusing place! It doesn't matter though, he is sure towels will be find and they can get warm and have hot chocolate soon!

Who knows! Either way, Kaito and Romeo won't drip their way to the train. Into the dressing room to grab a pair of fluffy towels and a dropping off of jackets and boots and back to the kitchen they go!

Soon they were all warm again and heading to the kitchen, Romeo skipped along the train happily. Today was a really fun day!

Once they got to the kitchen Romeo went to find the hot chocolate. "So we got to heat up milk right and then add this powder to it?"

"Yep! You could use hot water too I guess, but it's nicer with hot milk. Just be careful we don't curdle the milk."

"Curdle? Does that mean make it go bad?" He asked as he went to the fridge to find the milk. He took it out carefully and put it on the side as he hunted for a pan.

"Yeah, kinda. Curdling milk splits it, and that would very definitely taste bad. So. GENTLE heat."

"Gentle heat! Got it!"

He carried the milk and the pan over to the stove and made a guess at how much milk they would need for two hot chocolates. He's not too worried, if he makes too much they can always find some friends to give hot chocolate to. He bets everyone is pretty chilly!

He turned on the heat and grabbed a spoon to stir it.

Kaito measures out the chocolate and brings it over, checking the heat.

"I'm never sure if we should wait or not, but I figure if we put the powder in slowly and stir it we should be fine."

"Do you think so?" He's never made hot chocolate before so he is willing to follow Kaito's lead! He makes sure there is room Kaito to stand beside him and add the powder.

"I'll keep stirring!"

"No clue." He admits cheerfully. "But I figure it can't be too hard, right? Slowly as I add it here we go."

[myblueskies]

"Okay! Slowly slowly!" He stirred slowly, watching the chocolate powder swirl around and sink into the milk, slowly turning it into a brown colour.

"I think it's working!"

"Looks like!" Kaito agrees, watching it carefully as Romeo stirs it in so he doesn't overpour.

"Smells good too!"

"It does!" Romeo grinned, he was very excited. This was turning out to be one of the best days in a long time!

"I think it might be ready." There is steam coming off it and he doesn't want to make it curdle! That would be terrible if they ruined it when they were so close to being done!

Kaito tips in the last of the powder and eyes the pot.

"I reckon you're probably right. Does it feel as if there's no more grainy bits when you stir?"

He gave it a couple of stirs to test and then shook his head. "Nope! It feels just right!"

Carefully he turned the heat off and moved the pan backwards so it wouldn't fall off whilst he hunted for mugs.

Kaito's ahead of him there, with mugs set out on the tables.

"Here, lemme help with this bit - the pot's heavy!"

That's because Kaito is a good team player! Romeo grinned. "Alright! I don't want to spill it all!"

That would be a waste of hot chocolate and all their work would be for nothing!

Kaito can play nice when hot chocolate is on the line!

"Easy easy....Well done!"

After the best teamwork they managed to get two mugs full of hot chocolate and no hot chocolate spilled everywhere! Romeo grinned. "This is going to be so tasty! Let's go upstairs and sit down and drink it!"

He checked that the stove was off and put the pan in the sink, they would need to wash it up when they were finished drinking!

"Soak the pain, here." Kaito runs the water to make sure any stuck on chocolate stays soft.

"Awright let's head up!"

"Okay!" He does as Kaito says and then grabs his mug carefully. "Let's go drink hot chocolate!"

"Where should we sit? I kinda want to go back to the garden... snow with hot choc!"

"That sounds so much fun!" He hadn't even thought about that but being out in the snow with hot chocolate sounded great! It would be cold but then the hot chocolate would keep them warm!
