A Bad Night in Cabin 1C
Who: Sleeper 1 Cabin C occupants- Tony, Little One, Eva
Where: Sleeper 1 Cabin C
When: Apple, Night 2/ Day 3 (Backdated, sorry)
What: Tony becomes the least favorite roommate due to nightmares
Warnings: Language, mentions of IW/ Endgame events
He'd thought he was 'handling' it alright. That first day had been rough and the earlier that morning, but then it seemed to have calmed down. Things had been fine. He'd spent a good chunk of his time since coming on board this train resting, so how could he have guessed what was coming that night?
He'd recorded a message on his Iron Man helmet for Pepper in case something happened to him and Peter was able to get back home. It wasn't anything too important, just that he loved her and Morgan and wanted to be there with them again, but he doubted it. You know, the usual stuff before bed. He would've given just about anything for a tumbler of liquor at this point. This was not a fun way to give up the vice.
It was several hours into the night, around two or three in the morning when he first starts groaning in his sleep. The images going through his mind of all his companions drifting away into dust mixed with others being brutally murdered. It was Thanos standing with his massive ax and Captain's severed head under one boot. It was Peter getting eviscerated with that same weapon, all while he was helpless to prevent any of it. He's saying their names, crying out in horror as they die in front of him and Thanos' name as he defeats them all over and over again.

But a nightmare- Fuck. Not good. She sits up and she scrubs her face as she looks over at the man. Yea. She's wondering what kind of world Tony comes from if there's no pokemon to worry about, or fearing an adult giratina's come through and dragged them all into the distortion world or someone's gengar has snapped or any other manner of nasty shit that could happen.
"Stark-san!"
She's not going to touch him. she knows better than to do that to a person in the throes of a nightmare, thanks. Being whopped or worse isn't high on her to list. "Stark-san!"

It seemed her mind was used to that. So awake she was. She had stayed quiet in her bed. The dark was comforting in a way that the ever changing colours of the void was not. Once she realised that sleep was not coming back to her she sat up and pulled her dagger out from under her pillow. It would do as a focus as she lacked a shrine or alter to pray. She could pray silently, there's no where safe to speak prayers out loud on this train ship.
So she was meditating when she heard the first noises. She blinked in the darkness, it was Tony. The voice was too low to be Eva and... that's Peter's name he is saying. She wriggles to the edge of her bed, so she can see her.
A moment later Eva spoke, calling his name. "Be waking up mister Stark." She also makes no move to touch him, or get out of her bed. Not safe.

"Ow! Dammit all to Hell!" Tony jerks awake, sitting up and immediately hits his head on the bottom of the top bunk. "Son of a motherf-" He puts a hand on his forehead and looks around the dark room. Really all he was seeing was stars, but gradually his eyes start adjusting to the dimness. His shirt was soaked with sweat and sticking to him uncomfortably. The adrenaline pumping in his veins from his dream had him shaking and made everything feel just wrong. "Where the devil am I? Where's Thanos? Why..."

Doesn't matter. Tony's awake. "The train, Stark-san. You were having a nightmare and while I don't know who 'Thanos-san' is, but they're not on the train. I'd have seen the name on the cabins."
Of that much she is positive of.
no subject
"I did no be seeing that name either." She said, sitting now so her legs were swinging down over the bunk. She's still not getting down, fear can often lead to anger and if it does then she doesn't want to be close.

Oh! This strange train that has all of them captive going god-only-knows-where. Why was that a comfort over his nightmare? He wasn't sure but he can finally take a breath. He swings his legs over the side of his bed, giving himself more room to move without hitting his head again. He put his face in his hands and groaned softly.
He thinks he might be sick. His heart is beating so hard in his chest, it almost hurts. Was he having a heart attack? No, just anxiety. Breathe in. 1, 2, 3, 4. Breathe out. 1, 2, 3, 4. Slowly, he can feel the attack subsiding. He rubs his face tiredly.
"God, I need a drink."

It's both resigned and curious and she hates the words as soon as they come out of her mouth. Birds and Legends. She hopes he doesn't think her insensitive. "I don't have any on me, and I can't say I've seen any on board. Sorry. But if you want, you can pat Princess."
Who was in his pokeball more because clefairy were awake at the weirdest times when left to their own devices, and she wasn't sure how safe it was to let him roam the train at night just yet.

She scrambles over her bed to the cubby and pulls out something before climbing down and holding out a small foil packet. "There do still be being some left if you do be wanting it. You did be saying you did be liking it too."
She's been rationing the chocolate he had given her so there was still a whole line of squares left. She's not usually one to share but there's no alcohol and sweet things always make her feel better.

He stares in disbelief as the kid offers up a piece of his gift back to him just to make him feel better. It reminds him so much of Morgan saying she loves him three thousand. How was he supposed to even respond to soemthing like that? He can't reject the gift so sweetly given can he? He didn't want her to feel like it wasn't appreciated.
And really, Eva was just being nice too. She was offering up the only thing she had to give. It humbles him and makes him feel terrible for the grumpy response he was about to give her. Why was he even allowed to be around people?
"Thank you," he finally manages. Standing up, he takes the small package from her and takes the smallest piece he can break off before giving it back. "Thank you both." He sits back heavily on the bed and takes a bite. The chocolate was excellent. He was going to have to find a way to show his appreciation more fully later.
Now that he was awake and not reeling from the anxiety, the embarrassment of the situation was setting in. "I'm sorry I woke you." He runs a hand through his hair and sighs. "This.. doesn't seem the best time to have a bunch of roommates around." Getting kidnapped by a Void train, getting thrown in with a group of new people, etc. It was a recipe for disaster and short fuses.
He'd normally take a walk in this kind of situation, but he was so tapped out energy-wise, he doubted he'd get very far. Although, maybe that was alright. He could go find a chair to pass out in in the dressing car. "I should probably leave and let you two get some sleep."

It's more a question because for all she's offered it up, Eva does respect her pokemon. Princess doesn't seem to mind though, and soon Tony'll find the pokemon by his side. If he's not careful, Princess can and will try and take over his lap like a rather large and heavyish winged rabbit. As soft and fluffy as Princess actually is, he's also more than willing to make himself at home.
Eva offers Tony a smile. It's tired, but there's also understanding there. "It's fine. These things happen and while I don't know what it was about, I ... I don't think being alone is the best idea after a nightmare."

"I did no be being asleep anyways so you did no be waking me up." She moved to clamber up onto the table, sitting crossed legged as she watched him warily. She was glad the chocolate had worked, she didn't know anything about calming people down from nightmares, she had never been taught how to do it.
"So you do no be needing to be leaving."
no subject
"Hello, Princess," he says after a moment, realizing the thing could probably understand him like it was understanding Eva. "Would it be alright if Buttercup pet you too?" He glances at Eva, looking for permission and unsure if he'd get it from Princess or Princess' owner.
no subject
Not that Princess seems to think much about it as he nods. With the nod, he relaxes even more, literally sprawling across Tony's lap with a contented thrum-like sound that could be likened to a purr.
no subject
"Do you be understanding us then, Princess?"
no subject
He watches with curiosity as Buttercup asks it a question. Did it like it's little ears scratched like he'd seen people do with cats?

If she's nervous it's mostly because she doesn't want to get into Certain Topics. "And he's safe to pet as long as you don't do it while he's sleeping. He bites then. I almost lost a finger when I was younger."
Re: late forever hfjhdks
She crouches a bit, trying to get a look at its teeth. She keeps her hands to herself, she likes her fingers to stay on her hands!

The question does get him curious though. "Doesn't he sleep in that ball? Why would we ever come across him sleeping?"
Would they randomly come upon the animal in the hallway or on a table somewhere and get bitten because they hadn't seen it? This didn't sound safe for anyone involved.
