The Yeetening
Who: Bucky and anyone else
Where: Various cars throughout the train -- anywhere Bucky is likely to find a few quiet moments to accidentally nod off.
When: Domino 13 through 15
What: Bucky's pretty sure he's gotten sick, but good luck getting him to accept help. Eventually, he starts accidentally nodding off in various public places, but his startle response poses a problem for anyone who's thinking about waking him.
Warnings: Physical violence, insomnia, anxiety and PTSD symptoms, there will definitely be some cursing.
~!~!~!~!~!~
Get Well Soon | Domino 13
Even though everyone on the train has been better since before the mission, Bucky is absolutely certain he's come down with whatever it was Peter had. It's a fitting punishment for accidentally helping spread it, but doesn't realize it's just sleep deprivation. For now, he's camped out in the game car, nursing some peppermint tea and staring blankly at whatever or whoever is in front of him. At least until the train sends him to his bed for morning announcements.
Eat Your Yeets | Domino 14-15
Bucky is asleep. Somewhere on the train, in a public or semi-public space, he is dozing. He's seated himself in a corner, slouched down in a bean bag chair, or maybe even nodded off still on his feet. Wherever he is, his eyes are closed and his brow is furrowed, but that's the only clue you're going to get about the content of his nightmares. By morning on the 15th, there is a paper stuck out of his hand, with "DO NOT TOUCH ME" written in bold, black letters.
Do you dare to disturb him?
[OoC: Please include which day you're using for this prompt as Bucky's stress level will increase over time, and that determines how he responds to being woken up after the initial flinch reaction.]

"Maybe you should try falling asleep when you mean to," Garrett responded but it was flippant, mildly poking fun rather than biting. He gave the other man a small smirk and raised brows, almost showing something akin to concern. Even the sneak thief needed sleep. His biggest gripe was that the train insisted he get it at a certain time, which felt like nighttime, the time of day he was normally awake and active in his endeavors of a less than savory sort.

He has absolutely no idea the kind of company he's inadvertently keeping. He knows Garrett is vaguely creepy, but he was sure there were plenty of vaguely creepy people that were fine, upstanding citizens. That's what Steve would say, anyway, and who was Bucky to argue?
He scowls, rubbing one eye again, squinting it shut as he does.

Not that he was the caring type, mind you, but if Bucky was so worried about not hurting people maybe he should consider all the consequences of what he was doing--or not doing. Old man problems; they always wanted to share their knowledge with youngsters.
Garrett relinquished his stare and cocked his head to one side as he considered. "I like a challenge" It was true. He lived for the challenge of a job. He had to get his kicks in somewhere. He didn't have much to do on the train and a five day break on a world easy for the picking hadn't helped much.

He stares blankly at Garrett as he yet again gives up on getting the eyelash out of his eye. It was just going to live there now. He frowns when he's told to sleep, huffing quietly. "I slept for seventy years," he replies dryly. "I don't need more sleep." What he needs is a magic pill to get rid of all his nightmares. Or maybe just the one in particular that bothers him the most.
He narrows his eyes at Garret, huffing and folding his arms again, shifting the location of his warning paper, and proceeding to ignore Garrett. He hasn't even noticed the missing papers, but he also wasn't suspicious -- if only because he has the 'do not touch' sign, and he figured that's what Garrett meant by a 'challenge'.

Oh, he wasn't wrong. That was certainly a part of the challenge. Garrett had just taken it a step further. He waited, but the usual follow-up question didn't come. Garrett didn't mind.
He would have left then but a thought occurred to Garrett: if Bucky didn't have his ticket later when he tried to get into his room, the bionic man would have to find a roommate--possibly even Garrett himself--in order to get inside the room. So much for just leaving the ticket and piece of paper on Bucky's bed for him to find later. Garrett didn't want that kind of trouble later.
He also didn't want any trouble right now. After another lapse of silence for a good long while, suddenly the pieces of paper were dangled under Bucky's nose with a long reaching and thin spider-y limb. "You don't want to lose this," the arachne said as he waggled the ticket, which sat noticeably on top, in front of Bucky.

It was perhaps foolish for Bucky not to inquire about the nature of the challenge, but he was too tired to think properly. His eyes narrow when the paper and ticket dangle in front of him, gaze shifting to the half-arachnid. He moves slowly and deliberately, like he expects Garrett to yank the papers out of reach at the last second.
"Is it really losing something when it's been stolen?" he asks, torn between irritated and impressed.

The arachne did no such thing, he held the paper still as soon as Bucky goes to reach for it. The slow and deliberate movement helped actually. It made him less paranoid about being snatched at or attacked. In fact, he relaxed a little as Bucky called him out, accepting that perhaps this isn't the worst reaction he could get for his bit of fun.
"Well, you did lose it to someone with deft fingers," he replied. Oh, he was proud. He was very proud of his skills. "So technically... yes."

Besides, this could turn into a fun game, and he could train himself to be harder to pickpocket.

Bucky just might get the chance to practice. Garrett had half a mind to turn this into a game the longer they were stuck with each other here on the train.

But the advice... was actually pretty good. If he put a warning sign up, Will and Amery would probably both be smart enough to obey it. "I'll take it under advisement," he agrees.

Garrett nodded, satisfied with that answer. He hoped Bucky would consider it seriously before dismissing it. For everyone's sake. "Good."
