Day twenty of the month of Domino starts as a perfectly normal day on the Voidtrecker express. Passengers work on chores, or play games, bicker and read. The usual ways of relieving the slight tedium that come with being stuck on a train. Even a train that is hurtling through the void.

It is about mid morning when the whole train tilts, suddenly as if it has been hit. It is enough to knock passengers over if they don’t catch themselves quick enough. For those in the games car there is a loud bang as something hits the window. A small black object is stuck in the window for a moment before it dislodges and disappears as quickly as it appears.

The window doesn’t smash but cracks appear around the impact site. Almost immediately sirens begin going off. "Breach. Breach. Warning. Breach."

Hopefully passengers will remember what they are to do in the event of such an incident. For anyone in the kitchen they will see that the oven, water and other appliances switch off. Doors begin closing around the train, in an attempt to seal carriages.

Those in the games carriage won’t see much of that, they will barely have time to register what has happened before they feel dizzy and sleepy, falling to the ground where they are. This spreads throughout the train, the further away a passenger is from the games car the longer they will have before they succumb but within fifteen minutes everyone on the train will be sleeping. Even including those who usually do not sleep or even those who cannot sleep.

Because this is no ordinary sleep.

For some passengers they will sleep the whole day and night, solidly and dreamlessly. But for others, for most, their sleep is anything but peaceful.

They will dream, strange, wonderful or terrible dreams and walk those dreams with their fellow passengers. Tumbling from one to another with no sense of where one ends and the other begins they will dream the whole day and night, though it will likely feel much longer and perhaps much shorter.

Their dreams may come from themselves, they may come from their fellow passengers and there are a few dreams that all may find themselves dreaming.

Infestation

The train is filled with dralite. They are everywhere, in every carriage. Flying through doors, in your bed. This dream takes the form of a stress dream, every time you think you have emptied a space of dralite there are more.

They aren’t aggressive creatures, just annoying and the ever shifting dream means that every time you remove one from hugging your head another appears. The train shifts and warps, carriages muddling as you move through it trying to contain all of the creatures.

A Distant Light

It is a dark night, though there are stars in the sky. In the distance there is a bonfire lighting up the area. Around it there are figures, they are too far away to make out any features but in the flickering light you can see they wear hoodies in the colours you know well by now.

There is the sound of singing and laughter and you want to approach. But no matter how long you walk the fire is always in the distance, never getting closer. You feel a great longing to be at the fire, but it is out of reach.

Flying

Flying is such a universal dream and so it is not surprising many of your dreams will incorporate this. You fly, over mountain, across rivers and seas, through forests and through the debths of space itself.

But most often you fly through the void, the ever shifting void around you, diving through colours that swirl and dance around you.

Romeo span around at the sound and stepped so he was between the magician and the man with a gun. Guns were bad and he didn't want the magician to get hurt.

"A gem that weeps immortality?" So it cried forever? That sounded like a sad gem. He held his hand up, ready with a borderline should this man try anything!

"It's bad to point guns at people!"

"Damnit Romeo" A hiss from the thief. "Get out of his way"

Snake's smile widens, cruel.

"Hiding behind children, KID? Not like you." The gun, unerringly, shifts to point between Romeo's eyes.

"Leave him out of this." The thief says coldly, moving to put himself in front of Romeo.

"Now, now. You know that's not how this works." And he pulls the trigger.

"I won't let him hurt you!" Romeo's face was stern as he stared down the barrel of the gun. It wasn't that he wasn't scared, he was. Guns were scary and he didn't know who this man was or why he was trying to hurt the magician. But Romeo won't let him. The magician was nice and kind and no one should point guns at him.

"No!" Romeo might be good at borderlines but perhaps he knew that he would not be fast enough to block a bullet. Or perhaps he just reverted to tactics he had used long before he could use magic. He slammed into the magician, to try and push him out of the way of the gun.

Snake fires as KID drags Romeo out of the way with him.

"DAMNINT Romeo!"

Romeo tumbles to the floor with the magician and curls up at the sound of the gun shot.

"You saved me." He is breathless and his eyes wide as he looks up at the magician with a smile. But the danger is still here and so he scrambles to his feet. "Line!"

A borderline springs up between them and the man with the gun.

Snake fires again, the bullet impacting the borderline as KID draws the card gun and fires back forcing him to retreat.

"Run, come on! This way."

"Line!" He throws up a second line as he scrambled after the magician, running with him and keeping close.

The borderlines wouldn't hold for long and that man with the gun is scary!

The thief drags Romeo towards the door, firing over his shoulder as Snake fires back, the last card throwing up a smokescreen.

"Inside!"

Romeo scrambled to keep up and burst through the door, not letting go of the magician. He doesn't want him to be left alone with the scary man with the gun!

Once they were inside he slammed the door shut and tried to lock it before scrambling away from the door. Bullets could go through doors! Probably!

"Down!" The thief slaps something against the door and turns to drag Romeo down, the door rattling above them and the stairs seeming to spiral down and down and down and down...

Down! Romeo followed the magician down and down and down and down. He doesn't stop running though he glances back one or two times.

"Who is that man?"

And why did he want to shoot them with his gun?

In the way of dreams they run without ever seeming to get anywhere - down and down through the stairs and through doors and rooms, the sound of feet pursuing them.

"Snake" He spits the name. "The man who killed my father."

"Oh." Romeo stared at him wide eyes. "He's really really bad then!" If he had killed the magicians father! That was a terrible thing.

"Don't worry! I'll make sure he doesn't kill you!" He brought his fist to his chest in a promise.

"Yeah." He says grimly, and smiles for Romeo (it's a mask, his face is a mask, the smile is painted on - never loose your poker face, Kaito)

"It'll be fine. We just need to stay ahead of him."

Never lose your poker face, always keep your spirits up. Between them they have this in control.

"Yes." He nodded, glancing back. "We just got to keep running."

Down, down and down again.

The stairwell becomes a maze of rooftops and museum rooms and stages, pursued always by the sound of feet in the background, sometimes singular and sometimes multiple. Voices cry out alarm and warning but their words are garbled and difficult to discern.

All the while Romeo runs, following the magician, determined to protect him and for them to run away from the man with the gun together.
