Breach!

Day twenty of the month of Domino starts as a perfectly normal day on the Voidtrecker express. Passengers work on chores, or play games, bicker and read. The usual ways of relieving the slight tedium that come with being stuck on a train. Even a train that is hurtling through the void.

It is about mid morning when the whole train tilts, suddenly as if it has been hit. It is enough to knock passengers over if they don’t catch themselves quick enough. For those in the games car there is a loud bang as something hits the window. A small black object is stuck in the window for a moment before it dislodges and disappears as quickly as it appears.

The window doesn’t smash but cracks appear around the impact site. Almost immediately sirens begin going off. "Breach. Breach. Warning. Breach."

Hopefully passengers will remember what they are to do in the event of such an incident. For anyone in the kitchen they will see that the oven, water and other appliances switch off. Doors begin closing around the train, in an attempt to seal carriages.

Those in the games carriage won’t see much of that, they will barely have time to register what has happened before they feel dizzy and sleepy, falling to the ground where they are. This spreads throughout the train, the further away a passenger is from the games car the longer they will have before they succumb but within fifteen minutes everyone on the train will be sleeping. Even including those who usually do not sleep or even those who cannot sleep.

Because this is no ordinary sleep.

For some passengers they will sleep the whole day and night, solidly and dreamlessly. But for others, for most, their sleep is anything but peaceful.

They will dream, strange, wonderful or terrible dreams and walk those dreams with their fellow passengers. Tumbling from one to another with no sense of where one ends and the other begins they will dream the whole day and night, though it will likely feel much longer and perhaps much shorter.

Their dreams may come from themselves, they may come from their fellow passengers and there are a few dreams that all may find themselves dreaming.

Infestation

The train is filled with dralite. They are everywhere, in every carriage. Flying through doors, in your bed. This dream takes the form of a stress dream, every time you think you have emptied a space of dralite there are more.

They aren’t aggressive creatures, just annoying and the ever shifting dream means that every time you remove one from hugging your head another appears. The train shifts and warps, carriages muddling as you move through it trying to contain all of the creatures.

A Distant Light

It is a dark night, though there are stars in the sky. In the distance there is a bonfire lighting up the area. Around it there are figures, they are too far away to make out any features but in the flickering light you can see they wear hoodies in the colours you know well by now.

There is the sound of singing and laughter and you want to approach. But no matter how long you walk the fire is always in the distance, never getting closer. You feel a great longing to be at the fire, but it is out of reach.

Flying

Flying is such a universal dream and so it is not surprising many of your dreams will incorporate this. You fly, over mountain, across rivers and seas, through forests and through the debths of space itself.

But most often you fly through the void, the ever shifting void around you, diving through colours that swirl and dance around you.

Void Picnic dream

Romeo is sat on the room of the train, the long black steam engine spreading as far as the eye can see back and forth. Around them flickers the void's dancing colours. There is a huge picnic blanket spread out on the roof, traditional red and white checks and it is laden with food. So much food, a real mix from many different cuisines and cultures. But there is an abundance of apples, churros, chocolate gateaux and ice cream for sure!

Romeo is sat on a blanket happily, surrounded by friends, some are recognisable from the train and others are not. One is a blonde haired boy who sits close to Romeo smiling at him fondly. All are eating and talking, there is no fighting or bickering.

At the edges of the dream there is a veritable army of spygoats, the purple plush creatures that arrived when one Hibiki Shikyoin joined the train. They wield tiny swords and shields and are fending off some flying wolves, snowmen, goblins and strange fish creatures. Fish that wobble just like jelly and have long tentacles and a lot of sharp teeth.

But the goats have that in hand and this picnic is safe! Romeo spots you and his grin widens. "Hello!"

Reading Adventures dream

You are in a library, the shelves are neat and organised but the library seems to stretch forever in every direction. The shelves tower up as high as you can see and disappear out of sight.

It is a veritable maze but soon you will come across a clearing of beanbags! Romeo is sat on a beanbag holding a picture book up like he is reading to a group of school children. Sat on the carpet in front of him is the blonde haired boy, a cat, a goat and a lindusi.

"Then Gon the little fox said to the wicked witch. These violent delights have violent ends. And in their triumph die because the cake is too big for the hat cups."

This makes perfect sense, if the sage nods of the small audience is anything to go by.

Helpless nightmare cw: themes of slavery and violence towards children.

You are in the standard coach. At least is seems to be that way at first. The carriage is dark though and the tables are wooden, lit by candles. Romeo is stood there with the blonde haired boy. Both look scared and they huddle together.

The carriage is full of dark shadowy figures. People, but hazy, without real features. They are tall though, towering above you. No matter how tall you are they are larger. There is cruel laughter echoing from the figures, a voice is echoing in the air though it is impossible to tell where it comes from. "Sixty five lira, eighty five lira, seventy two lira, eighty lira, eight five lira, eighty five lira."

There is the clinking of coins, mixing with the laughter. It may be that out of the edges of your eyes you see strange creatures. Blobs, butterflies, bears. Tiny and brightly coloured with far too many eyes. Ayakashi for those who would recognise them, clinging to the shadowy figures.

"This one." One of the shadowy figures are coming towards you, reaching out to grab and their grip is strong and absolute.

"No!" Romeo rushed at the figure, to be hit at by another hand and sent flying backwards.

Oh how he wished he could misunderstand. That he could be without a clue as to what this likely was. Growing up in Kaleer, he could easily have been unaware of the realities and horrors of slavery. But he knew too many people from Terielle. He spent too many long winter nights talking to Sadi. To the Demon Dead in ***** back when there were any. Prince Yaslana - Anduvlar and Yasi both, really - felt that the boyos needed to understand the harsher realities. So they had told them stories as well.

And more, they had taught him what to do, how to survive, how to save others. And how to tell who to kill.

The hand gripped his arm. He let it. He was waiting for his moment. He knew that so long as he wasn't ringed, he had a chance. And he would not allow himself to be ringed. And he had a few nasty surprises that no Terrelian slavers could have guessed at. He had been making a quiet descent to the depth of his Sapphire when Romeo was hit.

The air went cold. His descent was still controlled but no longer quiet. His smile, still there when he was grabbed, froze. Hardened. A brittle thing on his face. He reached his free hand up, like he was going to brush back a curl, then at the last moment slammed it against his captor's chest, driving the force of both his strength and his Sapphire Jewel at the bones under the skin. He considered making a pass through the skin and stealing the heart. He knew how to do that, he helped teach Darkmist how to do that. But that took a kind of focus that worked better the fewer other foes there were. The fewer other people he had to protect. So he would settle for shattering every bone in the man's rib cage.

"You do not touch him," he said coldly, in a voice Romeo never would have heard from him. A cold voice that spoke clearly and slowly, each word perfectly enunciated. "I am Lord Kharadeen of Scelt. I serve in the First Circle of the Dark Court. I am the Warlord of Maghre. I serve Witch. And these children are under my protection. The next man to touch any of them dies. And I will leave enough of you left to face the High Lord when you get to ****."

Early Warning System | The 30 seconds before you pass out
SXT-2 is a creature whose design involved some trade-offs. For one, she is less of a creature than a system of signals, so when the lockdown signals run down the train she knows. So those in a carriage far enough from the source- let’s say the dining carriage- will get some extra warning!

“An error has happened in the Games Cabin. Error. Games Cabin. Breach pr̷o͟c͝e͏͠d̵̛͠ur̵es͡ ͠i̶nit̛i͞a̧ti̸̶͝n͘͢g҉̵͡g̛ggg͝ggg̷̢͡g̴͟g̵̨gg̛.͠”

On the other hand she’s also yelling this from where she’s slammed full-body into the side of the carriage, having garbage senses in real life and no ability to compensate for sudden destabilisation, so there’s that. She breaks away from the wall after a moment, tottering like a baby deer.

“B͠B̨B̨́B̵́B͏̧B̨̢͝B̴̨҉B̵̛B̶͠B͘ŕ̷͘e̢a̷̧͢ć͞h̶ ͜͠p̛҉͡r̶͏o̶c̀edures are now in place. Sorry for the audio feedback. Please follow Breach protocol- and stay calm? I think.”

She’ll probably make it like three steps before she drops like a rock but hey, it’s the thought that counts?

Well, that's... foreboding.

Nita has enough presence of mind to recall the breach procedures (In case of a breach whilst in the void passengers are advised to move away from any furniture or walls, sit on the floor or your bed and bring your knees to your chest. If you feel dizzy roll onto your side.), but still had her first instinct be to approach SXT-2, (and by extension the games car) rather than run away.

She does drop too, and belatedly pulls her knees to her chest when she can't make herself get up, but hey! Definitely thought that counts.

The Chase Dreams

Two girls stand on the train roof. One is the girl you may know as Buttercup. The other is the same height, facing away from both Buttercup and you. She is wearing a faded green cotton tunic and loose trousers. Her feet are bare.

"Be coming back!" Buttercup shouts, but the girl doesn't listen. She just runs, runs right to the edge and dives from the train. Buttercup follows.

Linsusi Market

She is running through a warren of streets, chasing the girl. The streets are crowded, dry and dusty. The streets are narrow, colourful laundry hangs out to dry.

Finally she spots the girl darting into the market. She follows. They run among stalls of cloth, of spices and a lot of honey. Fish stalls and honey pastries. If you pause to actually take in the scene you will notice that all the stall holders are lindusi, the strange lizard creatures from the volcano world.

She scurries under tables and into hidden nooks, navigating the market the way only a small wild child can. But the girl she is chasing seems as wild and street wise as she is. She is always just out of reach.

Ice and Fire

She is chasing the girl up a mountain, it is thick with snow and a blizzard howls. But there are rivers of lava blocking the path. The girl seems to be having no trouble but Buttercup is frustrated at every turn.

Left, blocked, right, blocked. She has to hop over lava rivulets, dodge snowballs and also there are eagle owls. It is a terrible mountain. Still she cannot catch her.

Your money or your life! (cw: spiders)

This world is perhaps the strangest. A city of tall buildings. Some of them look almost modern- like the buildings in the last world they were in. Others look like those from her home world, smooth stoned and flat roofed. They are all tall though, towering to the sky.

It is bright. Lights shine from the ground, from buildings, from the trees. So bright that if you look up you can see no stars, just a terrifying blue, black nothing that fills you with a sense of dread.

There are cars. Some look almost like cars, others look more like trains, some look like the fighter craft from volcano world. Some of them fly.

There are people but also there are spiders. They are large, like the spider on the train and they are liable to jump out and bite people.

Like you and Buttercup. Bitten, wrapped in webs and delivered to a huge worrying building. It is the ER. You know this because it is a dream. But also it does not look like a medical facility. There are a group of thugs with swords.

"Be giving us your money!" They yell. "And maybe we will be healing you or you will be dying from the spider bite."

The girl is nearby, on a rooftop, high up. Still running.

The Chase - Ice and Fire (and Pressure), as plotted!

It's not quite a memory - how an entire planet can simultaneously fit on a train is beyond Nita's ability to explain at the moment, but she's not in a state of mind to question things right now - but she is back on a world intent on shattering itself, and she has to get the kernel so her team can do what's needed to fix it-

Only, the kernel is a girl, and where Buttercup and her quarry were running up a mountain, they may find themselves heading down inside it, ahead of Nita, moving as if they were still on land.

The passing crust provides a wonderful light-show, though.

A thief is a creative artist who takes his prey in style

"All the world's a stage, and we are only players. Welcome to my magic show! One. Two. Three~!"

The stage lights up, a spotlight on the young man in a white tuxedo and top hat, bowing politely. On three, he tosses up his hat and it seems to expand to fill the room, before exploding into confetti. The lights turn off again, plunging the room into darkness. In the dark, there's a gleam of light - a blue eye winks at the audience from behind a monocle from which dangles a four-leaf clover charm, a rakish gleam of teeth in a wide grin catching light from somewhere.

"Smiles and laughter are always good, but never forget your Poker Face~"

The light is blood red, flickering into a gleam held in a white gloved hand, a flame, no a jewel, no, a rose. A snap and the rose bursts into a flock of white doves that scatters across the room, revealing the young grinning magician again.

A gun fires, and the room plunges into blackness again, except for an ace of hearts that flutters to the ground. As the echoes of the gunshot fade, someone is laughing. On the back of the card is scribbled a single word - Pandora.

"I presented you with a number of illusions tonight, but the show is over. Let's meet again someday under the moonlight~!"

A detective is nothing more than a critic, who follows our footsteps

The wind catches on the wings of the white hanglider, dodging and speeding through a gleaming metropolis of metal and steel, Tokyo Tower gleaming in the distance. Somewhere in the distance, sirens call. But don't look too closely at the buildings as they go past - the reflections are full of the Void.

A detective...

Nita's no detective, and she's not sure how she's following along with this glider, but she's moving at speed.

And really hoping she doesn't crash, because even in her dreams she doesn't know it's not for real.

The view is dizzying, but she's doing her best to gain on the hanglider, maybe see who's inside...

The door opens onto a whirl of noise and sound, an excited gaggle of young men and women who all look rather alike, despite their diferences, pushing and shoving and rushing about.

"Come in, come in! Don't stand on ceremony. Family is always welcome here." Nerdanel draws you in, into the warmth and sense of home.

The house is big, and has many rooms, all with the same sense of chaotic warmth that comes with having a large family with visiting relatives. Here, Maedhros and Fingon might go hurrying past, debating some point of interest. There, a woman who looks like Fingon with dirt stains on her white dress is dragging a pale blonde archer out the door, where a massive wolfhound is waiting, baying eagerly. Over there, two red-headed twins, so alike as to be almost indistinguishable, are about to tip water over one of their dark-haired brothers, bent over an embroidery hoop. From the forge out the back comes an explosion, and Feanor's voice calling OOPS as Curufin stumbles into the house calling AMIL DAD BLEW UP THE FORGE AGAIN. Maglor's voice rises in song from the garden, twined with another, as a golden haired cousin accompanies him, while a tall boy (already taller than Fingon) is asleep on the grass beside them. A golden-and-silver girl demands imperiously of her two brothers to be allowed to come with the hunters, the quiter one already mounted and shaking his head at the younger one, who looks about to give in.

None of them stop to talk, but all have a friendly wave for the visitor, a cheerful hello as they go about their business.

"Come, let's get you something to eat before dinner." Nerdanel smiles and leads you into the kitchen. It's a very warm place, all golden-bright and full, in all the very best ways.

(ooc: Any of the Tolkiens will not meet their counterparts in the dream, but they MAY take their place. Anyone else may also abruptly be dragged into the shennanigans if they want. )

The room is full of statues, so life-like that one might almost be mistaken into thinking them real. They're familiar faces, the statues. People that are loved. In the distance, is the sound of a chisel, hard at work. But there is no life here. Only cold stone.

This place rings of truth to Nita; there's a pain in her heart as she sees first her mother's face, then a stranger's. Someone equally treasured?

No matter - the room, the gauntlet, must be walked. Nita has to talk to the chiseler, to let them know their pain is shared, that they are not alone...

It is a long room to walk.

The Chase
Conan was running, chasing through a dark maze of caverns (that were sometimes a shadowed amusement park and sometimes darkened city streets), following after someone he could almost see. If he just ran a little faster, if he could just turn the corners a little quicker.

But every time he almost manages to catch up, there is a scream, the sound of police sirens and the smell of blood. And he turns away from the chase to solve the murder case that has just presented itself.

Nightmare
It was an ordinary day at home. A bright sunny day with nothing wrong. He was walking home from school.

When suddenly, and without warning, a hand grabs him by the collar and pulls him into an alley,pinning him up against the wall. And Conan is instantly plunged into the terror of his darkest nightmares as he recognizes the face of Gin.

"We've found you, Kudo Shinichi. Who would have thought you could hide yourself as a child for this long?"

"Now now~" A voice says cheerfully. "I'd appreciate it if you let my detective go~"

KID steps casually from the shadows, top hat pulled down over his eyes and cloak swinging gently, card-gun pointed straight at Gin.

You're in a cave.

It's dark, but not so dark that nothing can be seen. The surroundings are plain - gray rock, a touch of lichen, not much else. The only detail of note is a dust-covered doll, which no amount of exertion will move even an inch from its position on the cave floor. Doll aside, it's a perfectly ordinary cave.

What's unnerving, though, is the cave's haunting familiarity. Every rock, every pebble, every contour of the landscape feels somehow like you've seen it a thousand times. This entire small corner of the world is unaccountably mapped perfectly into your memory for as long as you remain there. It's not a comforting familiarity, though - it's more the familiarity that a lifelong prisoner has with the walls of their cell. It feels like you've been here before, been here for years, and will remain here for even longer.

The other unnerving thing about the cave is Ivy's presence in it. The friendly girl from the train is gone, almost unrecognizable in the face of her past. Her emotions run wild, bouncing back and forth between different extremes from moment to moment. You might find her screaming into the darkness, or laughing hysterically, or huddled in a corner in the fetal position, or clawing frantically at the unmoving doll and its surroundings. More often than any of those, though, she's just floating. Limp, expressionless, catatonic, she'd almost look like she really was properly dead if she wasn't drifting through the air.

The whole combined experience almost conveys what it was like to be stuck here for 200 years.

It's the fatigue that hits Nita first, really - she's young for a wizard, and she knows it, but now in this cave she feels like (perhaps) what a Planetary must feel: the age and weight of the world, its imprint on its person, the lifespan of the surrounding planet...

Well, it's just a cave. The scale helps, a little.

"Hello?"

Her voice doesn't even echo; the sounds just drop right to the ground like pebbles.

Infestation

If Nita wanted her dreams to be filled with animals, they could at least be those she knows.

To this effect, sometimes the dralite look more like cottonballs, with just one pair of wings. Other times, they're squirrels, and there's a black-furred mutt with a look of absolute Goodness in His eyes to help you, though he'll still spend more time chasing them than actually herding the beasts.

And sometimes, they're literal anxiety-manifestations of her friends. If you could just stay in one place, PLEASE! seems to be the theme of the hour.

There's a faint presence helping her, too, finding itself stifled at every turn but still striving to help-

A Distant Light

Nita gets the feeling she isn't alone out here, either... but no matter how much she looks around, she never finds anyone to comfort, or comfort her.

Until she sees you, maybe? Though maybe she thinks you're her shadow - and if you are her shadow, you have company.

Flying

If Nita had full presence of mind her dreams, she'd wonder if this is what it feels like to be the train.

As it is, though, the void is beautiful - and hey, sometimes there are worlds, familiar like old friends! She'll swoop down to say hello...

Excuse me, did someone mention a Good Boy? An adorable mutt? Because Inigo is totally here for that - even though not of his own volition, since he didn't exactly ask to dream like this. But he's in this dream before he realises it, and before he even notices literally anything else about the dream, he's all over this dog. Oh god, it's so cute. It's the cutest dog.

"Aren't you adorable?" Yes, he's totally just sitting on his knees now and cooing at the dog, squirrels be damned.. "Who's a good boy, huh? Is it you? It's you!"

Apparently he's not going to snap himself out of that...

Flying

You are flying, in the void or over a world, a meadow, a mountain. Wind flowing through your hair or the swirling colours bathing you in strange light. Next to you is a creature. His mane is long and his coat dark, he flies purposefully but sometimes twirls and swoops and twists. He's having fun. Kirin can't really smile in beast form but he is happy.

Flower Crowns

You are in a meadow, in the distance there are mountain and if you look up the sky is the void. But the meadow itself seems almost normal, full of flowers, pleasantly warm.

Sat in the flowers were a creature and a boy. The creature was a strange one, a mix of a leopard, a woman and a fish. The boy was young, dressed formally, a flower crown on his head and another one partly completed in his hands.

Nearby there was a man, those who know him will recognise him as Gyousou. Silver hair, blood red eyes. Stern and foreboding. There is an aura around him, like fire, fierce but warm, safe but terrifying all at the same time. You are terrified of this man but also drawn to him. He is stood with a suugu, a black and white tiger, saddled up for riding. He is in conversation with someone in formal robes, they don't really have features in that dreamlike way. You are happy. The source of the happiness is Gyousou, all is well and good here in this meadow because he is there. A bliss washes over you.

The child is smiling at you and holding up some flowers. "Would you like me to make you a crown?"

A Door Never to Open

The room you are in is strange. From the walls and the pillars it looks like you are in an ancient Chinese palace, there are crystal statues dotted around, precious gem stone columns.

But also it seems like it is a school science prep lab. Chemistry supplies, test tubes and Bunsen burners. Taiki sat against a wall, knees to his chest. He was wearing a weird mix of a school gym kit and formal court robes. Outside there was the sound of fighting, swords clanging. But also rocks being thrown against the windows.

There is a door. Sometimes it is an ornate door, sometimes a door you would see in a modern earth house. Sometimes a sliding train door. But it is a door. The closer you get to it the more everything smells of rot, of death, of blood.

"Don't open it." Taiki whispers. But you want to. The door draws you closer. It wants to be opened and you want to know what lies beyond.

Flower Crowns (+ Interrupting Door, later?)

In this land, everything is fine. So why not be happy? Why not bask in Gyousou and this boy's happiness?

"Absolutely!" Nita grins.

"Only if I can make one for you, though!"

This space is at once both a bountiful field and a beach; the keks, crablike beings, scuttle along the shore and make sandcastles. Or are they grass-castles? No matter.

Classroom Dream w/ social anxiety
The classroom would be a normal Japanese high school classroom, if all of the seats weren't ripped straight from the standard carriage; the board has a constantly shifting series of points totals for the four teams, with Orange always one point below one of the others.

The spider sits in the corner, not talking. The rest of the desks are occupied, a class is in session; the students are, to a one, either amorphous, terrifying shadows of smiles and incomprehensible pleasantries and questions, or Voidtreckers, somehow more tangible but no less nervewracking. At least one student is a stoic, bald man in a martial arts uniform, his features reminiscent of MMORPG graphics.

Skill Up! Dream
Remember the missions? Remember levelling up during them? Remember getting skill-up notifications popping up in the corner of your vision every time you do something? No? Huh. Weird. Well, it's happening. Move through a snowstorm? Ice Resistance Up! Walking up! Capture a lindusi? Animal Taming up! If you can think of it, there's a skill for it.

The spider is grinding her skills in whatever missionscape you find her in, obsessively checking a stats sheet every few minutes that makes exactly zero sense. But she seems to find solace in it. If you concentrate, you too have a character sheet floating in the corner of your vision, but likewise, it's entirely incomprehensible.

A maze of twisty little passages, all alike Nightmare
A dream of running, jumping, of constant movement through pitch black cave tunnels. Monsters loom out of the darkness: huge spiders, twisted frogs, wolves, gigantic, spiked wasps. Snakes the size of dragons, dragons the size of the cavern itself. Lakes of lava flash past, great pits descending into the earth, caves reaching up out of sight. And always, lurking beyond comprehension, a girl's voice, laughing mockingly. Soon enough, the tunnels shift into train corridors and back; the dining car, filled with rubble. The dressing car, on fire, her webs burning with a horrendous roar of flame. You flash to the next dream.

Classroom!

Nita isn't far from the corner, and it should really say something about her that it doesn't strike her as being wrong for a high-school at all.

Or maybe that's just because it's a dream.

The MMORPG-man is strange, yes, but he doesn't strike her as as interesting as the spider looking as out-of-place as she feels.

"Hey," she says, whispering, yet somehow loud enough to be heard.

"Do you think we can step outside? For a breather or something?"

Peter's dream seems relatively normal at first. He's sitting on a school bus and talking pretty excitedly to another boy right beside him. Out side the window though is the ever changing kaleidoscope of colors found in the Void. No one on the bus seems remotely surprised by this and Peter and Ned just keep talking. Except, Peter seems to be wearing some pretty thick looking glasses.

One of the other people on the bus with the gets up and walks over to Peter and his friend that he's talking to. Peter stops and looks up at Flash a moment, everyone on the bus is now watching.

"So how are you gonna ruin this field-trip, Penis?" Flash asks with a sneer. the whole bus is laughing now-except Ned and a girl in the back that's far more interested in reading a book. Peter doesn't say anything and just looks at the floor.

"Hey, I'm taking to you, didn't your mom ever tell you to listen to people when they're talking?" Flash demands, reaching forward and yanking Peter out of his seat. "Oh wait, she couldn't have, could she? You don't have one. No wonder you're so pathetic." He gives Peter a rough shove and Peter falls to the ground. The bus is still laughing and Peter still isn't responding.

At long last the bus has reached it's destination-the words STARK INDUSTRIES are on the building out in front and there's a tour guide with a bunch of badges in her hand as well as a clipboard. She addresses the class as and tour guide would and explains to them about what to expect-the floors don't really sound like they would normally be in a building like this.

"So I guess you were lying about that internship after all, huh Penis?" Flash asks and again everyone seems to find it funny.

1. Peter Parker is curled up hugging his knees and seems to be stuck in a small space. There's a voice outside calling out to Einstein and asking if he want's to play the 'Friend Game.' Every time he does, Peter curls in a little more.

2. It's new arrival day on void train and the moment Peter steps off the train he's met with White Blonde hair and sly smile. His eyes widen and he backs several steps until he trips over his feet. Skip steps closer.

"Haven't seen you in years, Einstein. You're all grown up!"

The Field Trip

Nita's bullies were of a different nature, but she knows them when she sees them.

She has very little patience for them, but she doesn't have to stoop to violence to deal with them; without questioning how she got here she mutters a few words in the Speech, and suddenly Flash can find himself coughing.

Maybe he smokes too much.

"Hey," Nita encourages softly, going over to the boy she 'knows', even if they don't really know each other.

"Don't we have somewhere to be?"

There's a train whistle off in the distance, but that doesn't seem to be what Nita means.

Marcus's dreams/Nightmares

A fire burns in the distance during the night. You see a man with a long bluish coat and a woman with brown hair lying on his chest. The woman named Blair has her head on Marcus's chest as she holds him. "Your heart sounds so strong."

Marcus looked up into Blair's eyes as he held her: "I'm not a good person."

Blair turned: "Look, I saw you as more than a machine, and you are a man to me. To me, you can either let the past go or believe in good in the future."

Marcus sighed and turned.

a. The dream earth is full of fear and horror as a nightmare scenario occurs. Skynet unleashed Judgement Day. Missiles from the United states hit Russia and vice versa from the Skynet-controlled skies, and scared people pointed up at the skies as various missiles began to hit.

Marcus is somewhat living the dreams of John Connor only shortened. He watches from an angle where he's underground, protecting others who are screaming and, in short, survivors of the nuclear blast.

"Come on get up! We have to move.." Marcus is helping up various soldiers in the Resistance who got stuck in the blast and or other survivors."

"Did Connor send you?" The worried people said

Marcus turned "I'm a friend."

b. Skynet has got John Connor right where he wants him and it's Marcus's turn to get him the hell out without killing himself in the process.

Marcus stares, angrily, into a computer screen with a female voice on it of Dr. Kogan.
Connor is fighting off a lone T-800 by himself, Kyle and Star are missing and he has to do something or risk trouble.

He throws a chair at the glass, breaking the screen and hops out, ready to fight the T-800 by himself literally risking his life to break whatever he could find to stop the raging terminator from killing John.

It's almost as if you're not dreaming. You're still on the void train, after all. Everything looks the same as usually.

Until you look out of the window. Outside there's.. something different in the void. There's something that seems like a computer screen with changing images on it, surrounded by countless really odd angel-like beings. Maybe you're momentarily distracted by the sight, or maybe you do notice the girl suddenly running up to you. She seems in a bit of a rush, but still has time to stop next to you and give you a wide smile.

It's Madoka. But she's wearing a poofy skirt and is holding a bow in her hands. And for once, she just seems confident.

"Oh, don't worry about that Witch out there! I'm going to take care of it, okay?"

Or maybe you find yourself standing out on what looks to be an ordinary street in a modern city. On the sidewalk, of course, safety first!

But you're not alone there. Madoka is there next to you, crouched on her knees as she stares and smiles at a small black cat that's quietly sitting in front of her.

"Isn't the kitty so cute..?"

Nita - not in a magical girl suit herself, but nicely dressed - is both surprised to see Madoka and not surprised to hear that the girl's got this.

"Oh. You mind if I come watch, at least?"

Maybe if she stays out of the Witch's reach, they can both have a good time of it?

Something seems off about the train today.

For one, there's a party. Well, maybe that part isn't too weird? There have been parties on the train before. But something seems different about this one. There's so many party guests - more people than there ought to be on the train, really. And it's like the train is stretching, much too wide. There's no way any carriage in the train could have this many people inside of it. It just doesn't work, physics-wise. And even the party guests themselves seem odd. No matter how much you look around you, you can't seem to recognize any of them from the train. What makes that harder to accomplish in general is that they all seem to be wearing fancy masks that cover their entire faces.

But even if you think about trying to exit out of this weird, kind of mind-boggling room, you won't find any door or exit behind you if you look. After all, who wants to leave a party? Look, you're suddenly wearing a nice suit or dress! Isn't it better to enjoy these things?

Probably breaking some fire code, Nita thinks, and there's a spark of agreement at the back of her mind.

Reigen's Dreams

A Parallel Voidtrecker - nightmare (CW: suicide ideation, unnatural isolation, panic attack)

The setting is oddly realistic for a dream, at least on the surface. It's the quiet car of the Voidtrecker, but the rainbow colors that can be seen out the window are replaced with swirling black clouds. On looking further, some of the usual seats are replaced with the kind that would be on a modern public transit. What also stands out is that the walls have check marks and various words scratched into them in kanji, and similarly frantically scratched on the floor is "REIGEN ARATAKA WAS HERE". A few brochures are scattered on the ground, all of them having what appears to be a last will scribbled on it: it's also in kanji, with poor handwriting at that.

By the door of the car, Reigen Arataka is in fact here, wearing a disheveled gray suit and desperately trying to break open the entrance. "No, no, no, I'm not doing this shit again! Don't screw with me, dammit!" He doesn't seem to realize that he's not alone at first.

All Around Me Are Familiar Faces - dream

Whether you manage to get there via breaking out of the Parallel Voidtrecker car or by stumbling in from another dream, you will find yourself in a large city, a bizarre version of Tokyo where everything feels slightly offbrand, or the buildings are actually things like broccoli, takoyaki, or tomato trees. Soon, however, you notice Reigen! Wait, there's another one...and another one...everyone is some clone of Reigen, some of them looking strikingly similar to the real thing, others looking... off.

"...is this some kind of prank?" One Reigen mutters, looking at the others with confusion. Could that be the real Reigen? Hopefully.

Where Everybody Knows Your Name - dream? (can go either way tbh)

Somehow, you find yourself in a bar--or is it a ramen shop? It only serves lemon sour cocktails, tonkotsu ramen, and burgers anyway, so maybe which it is doesn't matter. Various people mingle here, some of them resembling people who are on the Voidtrecker Express, and others you don't recognize. At one table, Reigen is chatting with a short bowlcut-haired boy over ramen.

"Yeah, she calls them witches, but it's definitely an evil spirit? Anyway, it's nothing me, you, and Serizawa-san can't handle! And it's totally uncool to turn down a girl in need, anyway..."

A Parallel Voidtrecker

Nita had no idea what was going on, or even who she was in here with - but that didn't mean she wasn't concerned.

"What- hey, what's going on?"

She got up from where she'd been sat, touching the wall.

"Is the door locked or something?"

Any dreamer who wanders into this particular landscape will find themselves in an ampriphitheater, decidedly Hollywood's idea of Ancient Greece in design. The twist here: each and every towering marble column is shaped like an awards statue. And the award statues, in turn, are not the standard faceless Oscar those from various Earths might recognize, but are instead....Hibiki Shikyoin.

Said amphitheater is packed with people in ancient clothing, clutching torches in their hands. The torches glow with flickering purple flame, and they wave them over their heads.

Being particularly vocal about this: a crowd of women of all ages, before whom the crowd parts. "Make way for the oracles!" "The oracles of Delpri!" "They're the closest to the god, they stand in the maa-sh pit!"

As promised, the women head to the area closest to the stage, which is ringed by purple stuffed goat toys carrying banners with a distinctive crown-and-sword emblem. Filling the maa-sh pit, the crowd of women sweeps the dreamer up and towards the stage, and scream as if one body, with one mind, and only one love: "LORD APOLLO!"

The theater goes dark, save for the flickering of torches. "Oh, my God," mutters an oracle. "I foresee I'm going to faint." "I forsaw the same thing!" "Lord Apollo signed this wax tablet. Never shall I wipe it clean."

But then all the oracles stop their clamor. In one voice, they claim: "The god has come."

And, on the stage, illuminated by a sudden spotlight: Apollo descends.



And graces the world.

There is a flame in the distance. It flickers, capricious, and almost seems to take the form of a dancing girl. But the path towards the fire-girl is long, and uphill.

And covered with dive-bombing vultures. (That are wearing little red bandanas, for some reason.)

Into the fray advances Shikyoin Hibiki, a shield held in front of herself, rather blue in the face. She's making decidedly non-noble faces as she takes step by bedraggled step down the path, and the birds

"Hey, hey, look!"

There are several things to look at, here. One is the buildings, rainbow-colored and all but sparkling with excitement. Another is the people - all girls, all in various performance costumes. Still another is one's own attire, which has automatically changed to be a stage outfit as well (unless one identifies as male, in which case one is in....an animal costume. Livestock is most common, but really, any animal will do.)

But the looking might have to come later, because out of nowhere, a small girl has tackled the dreamer. Her silver curls sway. Her green eyes gleam.

"Is this your first time here too? Isn't it amazing?!"

Clutching a ticket that's far too gold and glittery to be a ticket to the Voidtrecker Express, the girl gestures to the whole neon rainbow wonderland, and says with a voice that combines the excitement of early Christmas, two birthdays in one year, and winning a trip to Disneyland: "After all, it's PRIPARA!!!"

There was one unarmed wizard heading Hibiki's way - the Speech felt somehow useless here, so there was nothing special about the girl's voice to draw the birds' attention.

But she had a laser, and she was mad.

Nita has no idea about any of this, but she's small like she's in grade school again, and her dress is colored like calm seawaters. She wobbles, but doesn't fall over.

"Er, yeah."

Looking between the green-eyed girl and the Void-colored buildings, all she can think of to say is:

"I think I missed the memo on Pripara... Where do we go first?"

And when did she get a ticket???

Cal Kestis - ota (jed fallen order spoilers inside)

What you're first aware of is you're inside a ship. A big one. Bigger than the voidtrain. The colors of the void swirl outside the window. The sounds around you suggest that it's populated by children and adults and there's a general almost militant feel to the place. The children are all in matching outfits, their hair kept simple. Boys hair cut short, girls kept tied back in ponytails, each child with a single braid coming down from behind an ear.

The second thing you'll find yourself aware of are the Imperial Troopers stationed around and soon enough, there's one particular padawan walking through the area, talking to the troopers like they're old friends.

He's addressed by name. Cal. And if that wasn't enough of a tell as to who it was, the small boy seems to flicker between the child and the adult the people on the train knows.

There's a flicker in the dream and there's panic in the air. Somehow, the troopers have turned on the people on the ship and they're murdering people left and right. Cal is doing his best to escape, climbing parts of the interior of the ship, running through the maintenance hallways. Using the Force to put a small squad of Troopers in stasis while he and his injured master fight their way to an escape pod.

Cal takes a few near misses, one particular shot the reasoning behind the long scar on his face and neck that older him has, Cal and Jaro eventually getting away.

But, complete with an intense mixture of anger and sadness and guilt, Cal watches his master die and the pain and weight of it causes both young Cal and older Cal to scream.


The emotions in this moment are intense. And while it can't be heard what anyone's saying, it's obvious that the one known as Jaro is gone.

Or maybe you're on a new planet, densely populated by large trees and strange creatures. Giant spiders inhabit most of the area you're in, but they're either going to leave you alone, or come after you. Don't worry. Cal is armed. He has his lightsaber. As you continue through, you come to a large tree whose height goes past the clouds and there's something important at the top. You can feel it.

Climbing to the top isn't easy, but there are lung plants to use as trampolines. Watch out for the Saava vine that creeps and tracks, the sting is painful and almost disorienting.

Eventually, there's a shift in the dream and now there's flying to the top of the tree on the back of a giant Shyyyo bird. It's a freeing feeling, much more peaceful than the climb itself to get to the bird. Enjoy that. It's going to go for a while until eventually you're at the top of that tree you were just climbing.

[ A dark hallway ]

There's a sense of panic in the air, voices whispering that can't be understood. Occasionally, it feels like maybe you're about to hear what they're saying, but you're not sure you actually want to. And there's a constant feeling of not safe not safe not safe deep inside. No where is safe. No one is safe.

You have to keep going. But the trouble is there's nowhere to go. Just keeping your head down. Going unnoticed. Don't do anything that will get you in trouble.

A flash, a shout, a friend is falling right into the open maw of a super-sarlaac, tentacles waving in the air. You knowingly risk everything, reaching out with your hand, the Force flowing through you shakily as it wraps around your friend. Slowing his descent enough where he falls on a passing lift.

Along with the relief that you've just saved your friend, you're also very aware that you just lost everything. And then you're back on a train. Not the void train. No, it's dirty and covered in graffiti and you're running through it, fighting Troopers, sending blaster shots back with a twirl of a lightsaber, another shift in the dream and you're jumping off a moving train and onto the waiting ramp of a ship flying nearby. The last thing you remember is a sense of missing and falling falling falling...

A Dark Hallway (This is such a good prompt, I love it.)

Ple Two is indeed in the games car... and she's out like a light.

...and finds herself wandering into a garden car that's not a garden at all. The city of Dublin definitely doesn't fit into a train, but at least it's somewhat recognizable for anyone who knows twenty-first century Dublin. Aside from the central feature of the remains of a space colony, and the damage that's left hardly any structures truly intact. The remains of mobile suits, massive mechanical war machines, litter the area. This is where she was... some time ago? She picks her way through carefully, in a haze. This is what she's supposed to do. That's right.

War.

In service of Glemy Toto. Sometimes she can see him, feel him, and others it's just his voice, commanding her to fight, to kill his enemies, who are, naturally her enemies - because he's responsible for her existence, and for waking her up, and giving her a purpose.

Telling her that she's been quite foolish, making friends who won't help with that purpose. The only way to escape that corruption of her psyche, of course, is to kill them. She already killed Elpeo Ple didn't she?

When he reminds her of that, despite the fact that there shouldn't be any visible remains... there are flashes of a girl who looks just like her. Or... her remains. Charred and mangled and horrific and yet entirely recognizable to anyone, and she freezes at the sight, and she remembers just what she is, what she's supposed to do...

Nearby, a mobile suit waits, and you're probably better off if she tries to kill you before she gets to it, even if she does have a proper firearm finally - because she's moving in a daze, and attacking almost anyone she recognizes.

"Just be coming back!" Her voice is heard before she appears. Before they appear. The first girl runs into the city, barely stopping to take in her surrounds, running into the city as if the only thing that matters is getting as far away from her chaser as possible.

The second girl is more cautious. She runs in but pauses, as if noting that this is somewhere new, ducking next to a building to get the lay of the land before she goes further. Catching the girl is important but Buttercup knows how to be stealthy, how to be careful.

This place is strange, buildings and giant metal people.

His roommate mentioned deserving to to be put in a coffin underwater before, when she was beating herself up a few months ago. If this place is made of nightmares, then Reigen thinks he knows who's in there.

"Shit--Jessie!" He doesn't think much about it before he's at the shore of the lake, trying to pry open the box regardless if it's locked shut or not. "Oi, you can hear me, right?! Hang in there!"

Welcome to the TARDIS. Nothing about the Doctor's dream so far seems off-he's just moving about console, jabbering away about something that happened on some planet. He's not paying much attention to his guest and is way more focused on what he's doing with the console.

"--Mountains of ice as far was you can see-absolutely stunning. Want to see it?"

"You really should. Loves to show off, our Doctor." A stout man seems to come out of nowhere, his arms crossed and wearing a bow tie similar to that of the Doctor. "Except there's a bit of a problem see, One of these dreams isn't really a dream at all. Sure hope you're not facing anything life threatening..." The man says, not at all sounding like he's actually worried.

"Oi. You can't play that trick again. Learn some new ones!" The Doctor tries to wave him off.

"Thinks he knows everything, but what do you think?" The Dream Lord asks.

The Great Treasure Princess - Dream

"You can't get away, Yuffie." The voice that echoed through the dream was male and undeniably tired. The sound tunneled through darkness before landing on the train or in a thick dense forest filled with lush trees and bright green foliage. Wherever the dreamer landed, there was grass, which didn't make a lot of sense when the green stalks were sprouting out of the void train.

A young Yuffie went running passed before turning on her heel and standing with her hands on her hips. She was staring directly at you.

"I'm the treasure princess! Here me roar!"

Those staring at the young princess might find that whatever it was they valued was missing and you were sure that you just had it on you. What was it? In some cases you can't even remember but the logic of the dream was clear, it was gone.

Air Ships that Fly - Dream

"You gotta do it then. You gotta live true to yourself." This time it was Yuffie's voice that cut through to the start of the dream. She was standing, as those on the train knew her, with her hands resting characteristically on her hips. Her mouth was tilted into a frown as she took a seat on the metal bench that spanned the length of the air ship.

She was feeling the headiness of the flight but it wasn't going to become problematic until the pilot decided to disrupt the relatively even flying.

'No matter what happens.'

'They're attacking Wutai too!'

'We have to stop them.'

Nothing was said but the feeling in the air ship was clear, it was tense. Something bad was happening and they had to work to stop it but where were they going to start? You'd think saving the world would mean that things like this wouldn't happen nearly as often. Yuffie sighed and placed an ice pack on her head.

"What's the next mission? Should we go together? You'll get hurt if you keep going alone." She's either talking to you or the shadow behind you that's clad in red with a large whole in his chest. To those who look outside the window of the air ship they'll see the void and a train and possibly some sheep with wings.

It didn't really make sense.

The Wutai War - Nightmare
[content warning: death, war, monsters... it depends on what comes up.]

It was night. There were shouts and screams in the darkness. People were dying but you're immobilized in place. Helpless.

Useless.

They were your people and there was nothing you could do to save them.

The village of Wutai encircled you as cries filled the air. Some people were attacked by monsters that lunged out from the forests while others were swept away by a thick black substance that decayed and ate at those it touched. Other times it was a fierce magical fire or shadows holding thin long swords that pierced through the heart of those you cared about.

'You were right there. Why couldn't you save her?'

Your body was released from whatever magic held it in place but that didn't stop the chaos raging through the town.

Yuffie appeared then with a large shuriken in her grasp. "Watch out!" She shouted and tossed the spinning blade as one of the creatures lunged forward. Her blade struck across the head of the creature and it went down as Yuffie approached, catching the gleaming silver weapon in her hand without much thought.

"Thank Leviathan you're safe. Come on. We gotta get out of here."

A princess trapped in a Castle

Welcome to Castle Oblivion.

A princess is trapped at it's top but you'll have to forget to save her. The more you step forward, the more you lose. Lose all of yourself and you'll be free.

The dream shifts through worlds, stairs and long white halls before coming to rest on Naminé. She's sitting in a white room, on a white chair. She's drawing and there are dozens of drawings all scattered around her. Some are of Sora's memories and some are of her memories on the void train. There are people she's come to care for and snow creatures and monsters as well as strange images that appear to be clouded in shadow.

She looks up but her eyes are focusing on the distance.

Where angels take flight.

A shield encases you and you're dropped through the layers of the castle, falling as the world breaks apart like shards of shattered glass. A void of blue darkness and circling spiral stairs. One question ends your mind:

Can you make it through?

The prompt above is more like an interaction with the castle that Naminé has nightmares about and is terrified of. There is a "darkness" option as well for that, it's like a choose your own adventure, you tell me where you're going or what you want to do and I'll have the dream castle interact or Naminé herself. Her dreams are very trippy and can play up personal fears as well so feel free to write those in.]

Terra walked into the castle and looked around. Why this reminded him of home..but it wasn't home. That had been swept up into a storm by Master Xehanort. But now he sees Namine sitting there drawing as she usually did, everything was encased in white. White walls, white furniture, white chair, and Namine in a white dress.

"What is this place?" he asked, before falling through. As he fell he summoned Earthshaker but in the end as he plummeted, it ended up just falling with him. He couldn't understand what had happened or what was going on or why, but he knew he had to find Namine and get the hell out of here fast.

Mother Knows Best - Bad Dream (CW: Emotional Abuse)
Whoever dares enter will find themselves within what appeared to be a tower of sorts. Dark, cold and not a lot of life around it. However, there was one figure within its walls, sitting in a chair and seemingly waiting for someone.

Rapunzel herself had been making her way up the tower, her hair gripping onto a hook that was in place for exactly the purpose of carrying someone up. She had no idea that Gothel was home, she was hoping that she had made it back in time. She had no idea how time worked where she had been.

As she climbed through the window she found herself freezing, seeing the other. "Hello, Mother." She said nervously, knowing full well that she was not happy.

I'm singing in the rain
For a good dream, there is an open area as Rapunzel seemed to be running around happily. However, as soon as anyone opens up their mouths might find themselves singing rather than speaking like one normally would.

Soaring

Tobias is soaring in an endless blue sky. Nothing below, nothing above, just endless blue in every direction. Other birds are around, flapping their wings, diving in any direction they please, like gravity doesn't even exist here. Sometimes, Tobias is the bird everyone is familiar with. Sometimes he's a boy, just thirteen years old in a shirt and baggy jeans. Sometimes a girl, blonde hair and missing half an arm. Sometimes he's an Andalite, or a Hork-Bajir, but always he's flying. Always he's happy.



Sinking | Nightmare | CW: Battle, gore, violence, morphing

It's like a zoo has been unleashed on a hoard of unsuspecting humans, except the humans are armed with dracon beams. There's a gorilla, a tiger, a bear, even an Andalite in the fray. Tobias is a Hork-Bajir, swinging his bladed limbs at anything that threatens him. There's screaming and blood. Someone's cut open the gorilla, who's gathering his own guts. Someone cuts Tobias down, takes his head clean off, but in the next second he's back and fighting, as if no one had touched him. The battle is endless, the pain and the exhaustion match it, and through the whole thing all you can do is keep fighting, because there's still more coming, still nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

If you appear as a human, the animals and aliens turn against you. If you appear as an animal, the humans fire their dracon beams. Nothing is safe. Nowhere is safe. Sometimes the animals and aliens contort into unfamiliar shapes, human body parts emerging, bones sticking out as they revert to human through grotesque metamorphosis and then immediately begin the process in reverse.

There's so much screaming and so much blood, sometimes it's hard to tell that you're still on the train.

Among all the birds there is one creature that is decidedly not a bird. But it flies among them all the same. Almost like a cross between a horse and a deer, a steel grey mane and a horn on its head. A kirin.

Taiki swooped and turned, flying alongside the hawk. "This way." He tossed his mane, this way seemed to be up, through the clouds.

Somehow, there's a road inside the train. Snow is falling in delicate flakes as Bucky -- garbed up as the Winter Soldier -- strides almost lazily to a car that seems to have veered off the road and crashed so hard the engine's caught fire.

He rips the trunk open with his metal hand, and inside there's a briefcase. He opens it to find five IV bags of blue fluid, and closes it again.

Bucky goes to the driver's side, where an old man has pulled himself from the car, on his hands and knees on the ground. Bucky goes over, grabs the man by the hair and yanks him upright. There's a brief second of hesitation as he locks eyes with Howard Stark.

"Sergeant Barnes?"



A Lightning Storm in Space | CW: torture, electrocution, mind control

His own screams echo in space, more like an animal's than a humans. He's reclining as if in a chair, with two metal pads resting over his face that seem to be the source of his agony. Unending electricity flows through them, through him. All he knows is white and hot and pain. In the void, faces appear. Red skull, Arnim Zola as a computer interface, Alexander Pierce.

Words, in Russian, echo through the dream. Желание. Ржавый. Семнадцать. Рассвет. Печь. Девять. Добросердечный. Возвращение на Родину. Один. Товарный вагон. The electricity stops abruptly. Солдат?

"Я жду приказаний," Bucky replies, his voice hoarse and weary. Suddenly they're in the train, and Bucky is seated in the standard coach, staring blankly ahead, awaiting orders.

She knows screams like that. Animalistic yet human. A human in agony. She knows that sound well. Words echo around her in a language she doesn't know or recognise. It is Bucky. Bucky is being tortured.

Then they are on the train, facing each other. "Who did the faces be being?" She asked, curious. There is sympathy, but it comes out only in a slight softening of her tone.
