Breach!

Day twenty of the month of Domino starts as a perfectly normal day on the Voidtrecker express. Passengers work on chores, or play games, bicker and read. The usual ways of relieving the slight tedium that come with being stuck on a train. Even a train that is hurtling through the void.

It is about mid morning when the whole train tilts, suddenly as if it has been hit. It is enough to knock passengers over if they don’t catch themselves quick enough. For those in the games car there is a loud bang as something hits the window. A small black object is stuck in the window for a moment before it dislodges and disappears as quickly as it appears.

The window doesn’t smash but cracks appear around the impact site. Almost immediately sirens begin going off. "Breach. Breach. Warning. Breach."

Hopefully passengers will remember what they are to do in the event of such an incident. For anyone in the kitchen they will see that the oven, water and other appliances switch off. Doors begin closing around the train, in an attempt to seal carriages.

Those in the games carriage won’t see much of that, they will barely have time to register what has happened before they feel dizzy and sleepy, falling to the ground where they are. This spreads throughout the train, the further away a passenger is from the games car the longer they will have before they succumb but within fifteen minutes everyone on the train will be sleeping. Even including those who usually do not sleep or even those who cannot sleep.

Because this is no ordinary sleep.

For some passengers they will sleep the whole day and night, solidly and dreamlessly. But for others, for most, their sleep is anything but peaceful.

They will dream, strange, wonderful or terrible dreams and walk those dreams with their fellow passengers. Tumbling from one to another with no sense of where one ends and the other begins they will dream the whole day and night, though it will likely feel much longer and perhaps much shorter.

Their dreams may come from themselves, they may come from their fellow passengers and there are a few dreams that all may find themselves dreaming.

Infestation

The train is filled with dralite. They are everywhere, in every carriage. Flying through doors, in your bed. This dream takes the form of a stress dream, every time you think you have emptied a space of dralite there are more.

They aren’t aggressive creatures, just annoying and the ever shifting dream means that every time you remove one from hugging your head another appears. The train shifts and warps, carriages muddling as you move through it trying to contain all of the creatures.

A Distant Light

It is a dark night, though there are stars in the sky. In the distance there is a bonfire lighting up the area. Around it there are figures, they are too far away to make out any features but in the flickering light you can see they wear hoodies in the colours you know well by now.

There is the sound of singing and laughter and you want to approach. But no matter how long you walk the fire is always in the distance, never getting closer. You feel a great longing to be at the fire, but it is out of reach.

Flying

Flying is such a universal dream and so it is not surprising many of your dreams will incorporate this. You fly, over mountain, across rivers and seas, through forests and through the debths of space itself.

But most often you fly through the void, the ever shifting void around you, diving through colours that swirl and dance around you.

"What kind of 'people' have you been encountering?!"

Hibiki wrests the vultures off of herself, stands, moves forward. Her position has shifted, though, so she's blocking Nita with her body too.

This is the most Magical Girl Nita's ever been. XD

"Lots of kinds! Assuming you meant species, I've met hominoids, arachnoids, life-sized centipedes and mobile Christmas Trees!"

Nita's moving all about even as she keeps talking.

"But even outside of that, I know loyal people, and kind people, and smart people. Some of them strangers, some of them family! But they're everywhere, if you just know where to look!"

They're working together, now, and Nita appreciates that, but that doesn't mean she's going to slow down in her blows against the vultures.

If you just know where to look......

Hibiki shakes her head. "Ridiculous."

But when she takes a step forward, a slip of paper falls out of her pocket. The vultures dive to try and grab it. She gasps, drops the shield. Takes a vulture to the hair. Doesn't care.

"DON'T--"

Heh~

Well, it certainly looks like Hibiki's willing to risk a death of a thousand beaks over something.

All at once Nita turns her fury upon the thieving vultures.

"HEY! FEATHERS OFF!"

And she leaps into the fray-

Hibiki takes a vulture to the font of her head just in time to be knocked backwards, so it's Nita who ends up with the fluttering slip of paper.

It looks like it's a ticket. To Shikyoin Hibiki's Christmas Dinner Show. The start date, rippling, says TODAY, and the start time....says THIRTY MINUTES AGO.

The woman attempting to dislodge a vulture from that one stubborn piece of her hair that always falls in a curl is late for her own party. And at the end of her thorny (or, okay, beaky and talon-y) path, the fiery girl tosses her head, looks away.

... It literally says 'THIRTY MINUTES AGO', doesn't it? XD

So she'd been in a hurry.

"Who sent these?" Nita asks, meaning the vultures.

"And why would they keep you from your own party?"

Kind of sounds like a metaphor, now that Nita says it aloud...

"Disrupting my party is not their objective."

Hibiki uses her shield to prop herself back up, though she has a vulture sitting on her head and preening now - it's very proud of itself for having knocked her over. Hibiki herself, however, is not looking at Nita. She's not even looking at the vultures circling overhead, awaiting her next move.

She's staring at the girl in the distance. Eyes only for her.

"... Someone you miss?"

That fiery hair is hard to miss.

Nita puts her shield point-down, though she doesn't move to put it away. Instead, she offers Hibiki a hand.

"The only thing that can really stop you from getting back up with someone is yourself."

Nita'd been in that position before, though she does sound like she isn't certain that's what's going on here.

Hibiki looks over at Nita. Eyes that hand. Thinks about this.

Sniffs haughtily, and stands on her own. "Unnecessary words."

The contours of her body begin to glow. The vultures hover, preparing to all strike as one in a giant, fluffy projectile.

"... I don't think the vultures agree."

That sword was back up and pointed at the impossibly-fluffy birds.

Still, she wants to see what Hibiki's going to do next.

Hibiki stands there, glowing, not doing much of anything. The vultures dive -

And a pair of platinum crown-shaped wings pop out of Hibiki's back, flap once. A shining purple wind flows forth, knocking the vultures backwards. They go tumbling across the sky.

Raising her head, Hibiki reaches out and moves to pluck the ticket from Nita's grasp. The rest of her body is lifting off the ground in so doing, preparing to fly towards her objective. "You'll relinquish that."

The vultures are doing their best to regroup. Hibiki might have to race them....

"Well, it's not mine," Nita says, sounding ornery despite her cooperation.

She makes to follow beneath Hibiki - though perhaps not just beneath, in case these vultures get ideas...

"Think we'd better go!"

Hibiki's only reply is to take off, soaring towards her goal with the same single-minded determination as before. She's leaving a trail of purple glitter in her wake - it's noticeably gleaming in the air, and some vultures she blasts past end up coughing from inhaling a sparkle or two.

Despite that, the vultures are coming fast and thick. A set of them wheel around and attempt to assail Nita in a pincer formation, aiming to keep her from backing Hibiki up.

Nita quietly wonders to herself - with no small amount of annoyance - why Hibiki couldn't have made that glitter appear earlier.

Nita will not be kept back by the vultures, however; it's as if she's wielding two swords instead of one, or else wielding it in a spinning fashion: the blade is everywhere.

Squawks ensue as the whirl of blades send vultures scattering for cover, feathers flying. Hibiki extends her hand, the ticket out.

"Final stage!" she calls, to an audience only she can see. "The dropping of the curtain on the world of falsehood!!"

The girl made of flame turns, looks at the figure streaming towards her. Eyes Hibiki coolly. Her own hand reaches out, takes the ticket.

Someone, somewhere, giggles - ufufu!

Someone, somewhere, says "Good for you, Mahou-chan."

Everything fades to white.

[[ Thread wrap works! Unless you would rather have them fall into a dream of Nita's or something.....I kind of took the reins on this one since it was Hibiki's dream, so I hope it was still entertaining to thread.

It may not make much sense out of context, but Nita has learned some important and very personal things about Hibiki. Could make for good follow-up?

Nita can remember the flame-haired girl and the ticket, plus the birds being super-persistent fluffy predators, but the rest will probably be a blur to her.

So yes, follow-up would be great~ Hibiki can hunt Nita down (in her room or elsewhere in the train) anytime, or respond to her reflection Network post!))
