A new Platform [Intro post~ August]
For those on the Train
"Good morning passengers, it is day sixteen of the month of Apple." The train announces as always as everyone wakes up the morning of the sixteenth. "Due to your success on Hub World #5739 your team points have been updated on the system. The on train shop has unlocked new stock."
For those going to investigate it might seem like the boredom of the last two weeks will be alleviated a little. More so after a few hours when there is a second announcement.
"Shortly arriving into a designated void platform. Exit from void imminent."
By now they should know to hold on as the train jerks and jolts. There is only fog outside the windows but the train soon comes to a stop. The doors hiss open.
As they exit into the fog they may notice Hibiki exiting from the luggage carriage door. She hasn’t been seen since the Hub World and they might be forgiven for believing she stayed behind. But here she is, backpack on her back as she walks through the station. She heads no call, reacts to no words and cannot be stopped as she walks to the ticket barrier and disappears through it.
It is impossible to follow. But you soon may be distracted because this platform is far from empty.
For new arrivals
At first all you can see if steam. Billowing around you as you come to your senses. You are standing, in clothes that are not your own, styles you might not even recognise. You are carrying a rucksack on your back. For a moment it seems to just be you, alone in the white haze but then the steam begins to fade and you realise you aren’t alone.
The platform is not very large, but it hold twelve figures all facing the tracks, all wearing similar clothing, even if one of them is a spider. The tracks stretch left and right into steam, or perhaps fog. Nothing can be seen to either side. There is a wall around the platform and the only entrance is a ticket barrier. It cannot be open, nor do there seem to be any staff.
What there is, is a train. Jet black and gleaming where it stands on the rails.Voidtrecker Express is emblazoned in the engine in gold. There is a hiss as the doors slide open.
Out step a selection of people, wearing clothes just like yours.
The Train
The doors hiss open. Those from the train may encourage those on the platform to board. It’s not like there is anywhere else to go and even if there was, you feel a pull. A need to board, a feeling that staying on the platform would not be a good thing.
Once on the train there is plenty to explore. A new sleeper carriage has appeared as has a medical bay. Neither were there before those already on the train had disembarked to meet their new travelling companions.
Each ICP shows the same message. The food stores have been topped up with new fresh food, though it seems that eggs are still predominately on the menu.
New passengers will find their tickets allow them into their cabins. They may need to negotiate for beds, especially if they want a top bunk!
Room is tight but there are storage cubbies at the head of each bed, beds fold up and the bottom bunks double as benches for the small table. There is storage under those benches and you will hopefully find a pillow for your bed if it has not been nabbed by a roommate, there are also spare blankets for if it gets cold.
Departure
A second horn sounds to encourage any stragglers and the doors slide shut. Those who boarded two weeks ago will know what is coming next.
The train sets off, the fog obscuring the view as it picks up speed.
"Welcome aboard, passengers of the Voidtrecker Express." A female-coded artificial sounding voice echoes throughout the train. "Please take the time to read the passenger information displayed on the Information and Communication points and familiarise yourself with the layout and emergency exits."
The train begins to tilt, leaving the ground and rising up into the fog filled sky.
"Entrance into Voidspace imminent. New passengers are advised to remain seated."
Hopefully someone warns you that you really want to heed that warning because a moment later there is a shudder, a jolt, a lurch to the left. A flash of light, colourful and blinding.
As quick as it happens it is done. The train seems to steady. The fog from the windows is gone now, replaced with a kaleidoscope of ever changing colours.
Welcome to voidspace.

"You're not the one refusing to swear you won't hurt anyone. And don't make this personal, kid!" He glared back at the spider. "And how did you figure out it's name?"
If he aimed low, he might be able to hit something vital.. But more than likely with Peter having this kind of reaction the kid would just get in the way. Since when did Peter not trust his judgment on something like this?
no subject
Or whatever this guy is.
no subject
"And did you ask anyone else that question?" He asks, keeping his arms spread to protect the Spider. "She's wearing an orange hoodie-she's a passenger. And I don't know her name-I mean like Charlotte from Charlotte's web."
Because of course it's a kind of pop-culture reference. "But that's not important-the important thing is you can't just assume she's a threat-she's scared. I mean, the fact of the matter is that more people are more afraid of spiders than they are of death."
no subject
Okay, so he won't be able to do that, but he kind of wants to right now. The kid was picking every chance he could to show his rebellious side. First the thing with Buttercup and now this? Maybe this wasn't even his Peter. The Peter he remembered actually cared and respected his judgment, not balked it every chance he got. Not to mention this was the kid who has crawled in his bed needing comfort from nightmares and repeatedly needed his help in other situations, but now is accusing him of not being able to recognize a threat when he sees it.
"Get her to say she won't hurt anyone and I'll say it and drop my aim," he growls.
no subject
Is. Is this what friendship feels like...? It feels weird. Kinda tingly.
Still! No way she's agreeing to that deal. She folds up a little, spinning more thread, and then taps Peter on the shoulder to hand him what looks like a tiny scarf. On it is a message: I'LL DEFEND MYSELF.
And a frowny face.
no subject
"She's not setting off my Spideysense..." He states with a shrug before looking over and taking the bit of silk she'd spun out a message on. So she can, at least communicate. He reads the message and makes a face.
"Uh, not against Iron Man, you won't be able to." He says matter of factly. "But hey, Mr Stark just needs to know you're not gonna hurt anyone and as a superhero I gotta make sure of that too. Like, self defense is one thing but don't just attack anyone? You really don't want to get hit by the repulsors."
no subject
He takes a small step closer and looks at the spiders- uh.. many eyes. "I'll give my word. You won't be harmed on this train either. It goes both ways. There are children and other people vulnerable that need protecting here. However, I'm not going to let you get hurt or them get hurt so long as you can tell me you will behave yourself. Self defense is okay, but I'd rather you come find me if you feel threatened. If you're really just another lost passenger here, then I want to protect you too. And I get you're probably feeling overwhelmed like everyone else here. But.. I gotta have that promise before I let you on this train."

"Okay, cool. Welcome to the Void Ex..." Peter makes the mistake of looking down at the ground where the backpack is and the thing oozing out of it. The smell is one thing, he's been fighting with himself not to gag since the whole argument started but that-
Yeah no, he's gonna turn away and take a breaths in through his nose before he really does gag.
no subject
"Where's that smell.." Then he sees the bag and makes a face. "Um.. yeah. Let's.. Would you be willing to stay here for a moment? I'm going to get something that might help with your.. luggage. You and I are alright now, I'm trying to help you. Okay?"
He pats Peter on the back lightly and heads to the train to steal a garbage bag out of the first can he can find.
no subject
Was everything meant to be brown, or... hmm, maybe it was blood. She picks up a towel, and inspects it more carefully.
Blegh. Yeah. Blood.
no subject
"Oh god." Peter manages before turning away spilling his lunch from earlier and bunch of candy he'd been munching on all over the floor. "Gross." He whines before wiping his mouth with his sleeve.
no subject
Coming over, he looks at the contents of the spider's bag and wrinkles his nose in disgust. Everything was covered in stinking, raw, not refrigerated meat. It was almost enough to get his own stomach twisting. "Here. Put just.. everything in here," he instructs, holding open the garbage bag. It was unfortunate they didn't have a garden hose to rinse all of this off. "Put whatever that carcass is in this other one. We're going to have to wash that crap off of your stuff." You idiot spider you.
"Peter get the hell out of here. Don't worry, no one's hurting your new spider pal." He gives the young man a slightly rough shove towards the train. He needed Peter to get away from that stink. "Are we calling you Charlotte or can you spell out a name?"
