Party time for Party People and Party Spiders

At long last Day Two has arrived and after several days of planning and last minute Party Prep the Gym has been transformed into, what Peter and Gwen think, a pretty awesome Party space.

They're invited everyone on the train so come on by and enjoy some Midgardian Music, snacks and a learn a few new dances! Be sure to thank everyone that helped to put everything together!

"Parties and the music," Dyme said. "Well, most of the music. I have no idea what the hell Baby Shark is, and I'm kind of afraid to ask." It sounded like something that would either be terrible or awesome, and he wasn't sure which option he was leaning towards. "I'm Dyme," he added, "Nice to meet you."

"If you end up forgetting that one by tomorrow, you'll be ahead of the rest of us," Nita assured.

"Nice to meet you too, Dyme. ... Were your parents fond of old currency jokes or something?"

Nita's had her inhibitions lifted just a little tonight.

It wasn't the first time someone had commented on his name, and he was sure it wouldn't be the last. He laughed a little, shrugging a shoulder. "Maybe. My brother's name was Nyckel, so I think mom thought it was cute." He didn't know for sure though; it wasn't like he'd ever had the chance to ask her, and his father wasn't very helpful on the matter. Nyckel and Dyme did have a nice ring to it, though.

"Better Dyme than Penni," Nita surmised.

"Though, if you'd been born a girl they might have gone the other way?"

Only the One knew how 'quarter' could have been changed...

"I think Penni's cute." He'd never thought about it before, but now that he was... If he ever had kids--which was probably never going to happen--Penni or some variation could be a possibility. Keep the theme going. Nah.

"Maybe. Fuck knows my father never told me what they would've considered if I was a girl."

Nita snorted.

"Some things just never get considered to begin with, either."

Shaking her head - carefully - she went on, "Of course, this is the past we're talking about. The present's more productive to focus on."

Get Dyme to stop thinking about the past now that he'd started? Good luck. He might need more to drink at this rate.

"More productive, yeah, but sometimes once you start, it's hard to stop thinking about other things." If he'd been able to put everything behind him neatly and not obsess over things, he probably wouldn't have gotten into even half the trouble that he did.

Nita is in no state to stop him, let's leave it at that.

"Like a CD that has an entire album for a track?"

Where, once you started it, it kept going.

Dyme laughed. "Something like that, yeah." But she was right; the past was the past. Dwelling on it didn't change anything, and he was supposed to be having a good time. So he could at least pretend he wasn't thinking about his brother, now.

"So are parties regular here, do you know? Or did I just get lucky on when I got kidnapped?"

[unfavorableinstigation]

"This case?" Nita chuckled. "I'd say you're lucky. We organized ourselves in time to plan this one in advance. Don't know if they'll become regular, but if it does help people settle in..."

She waved a hand at the crowd - and in Peter's direction.

"He's the one you should thank."

[swansongs]

"Nice. A party's a pretty good way to cope with getting kidnapped." Or maybe that was the alcohol talking. Maybe getting drunk was the way to cope with being kidnapped.

He looked over in the direction that she gestured, nodding. "I'll keep that in mind."

Nita gave a happy twirl for the moment, echoing the motion from other parts of the room.

"For now, though, want to dance?" she asked - cheerful, not suggestive, though not entirely grounded thanks to her earlier choice of drink.

"It is that sort of party."

[swansongs]

"Yeah, sure," he said, looking around for some place to set his drink down, thinking twice and taking another sip before putting the glass down. "It's been a while since I've danced." Not that he would be rusty, but he'd missed it.

Any idea what song should be playing, for maximum lulz?

"It doesn't have to be all that coordinated, Dyme," Nita replied in a manner she at least though was reassuring.

"Here, no one can judge without being a hypocrite!"

And she started... doing something, mostly with her arms, though it wasn't quite clear what.

Oh gosh. I don't have the faintest idea.

"I didn't mean I'm a bad dancer," he said. He was decent, at least. He knew how to match a rhythm, most of the time.

He just--he wasn't sure what Nita was doing, but he bit his lip and didn't say a word about it. Judging would be mean, and everyone was here to have fun, anyway. So that's what he was going to do.

It's probably 'I Love It' or somesuch.

Nita was probably saying that for her own benefit, then, even if she didn't realize it.

She gave a little cheer when he started dancing as well, though!

"You're much better coordinated than I am!"

[swansongs]

Dyme laughed, shrugging. "It takes a lot of practice, is all. Anyone can learn how to dance." And he could probably learn how to dance better, but he had fun as it was, and that was the important part. "I used to be awful."

Nita nodded, pausing briefly in her 'dancing' to show she understood and took him seriously. "Everyone starts somewhere."

Then she went right back to dancing. If he tried to get her to do something more coordinated, she'd do her best to cooperate.

"Exactly."

Honestly, if she was having fun, he wasn't going to stop her. He didn't care how good or bad someone was at dancing. In fact, it had him relaxing more himself, more willing to try out a silly move or two.
