What: Eva being Eva calls an Orange Team meeting. Well, an anyone meeting, but same thing?

General
Eva's pretty sure by the time any planning is done, she's going to either have a headache, or have talked herself into croaking. At least she's not alone as a Leader, even if she is thoroughly uncertain she's doing the right thing. Leading, that is.

She might be unsure but she can and will deal with doubts later. After the mission. So, she's nursing a cup of decaffeinated tea and very much looking to get as much done as possible before they get kicked out to do the mission. "First off, how many of us are any good with the general technology the SCA's described? Second, how many of us can or are willing to fight?"

She knows she is for sure.


Pokedex
For anyone who's interested in grabbing illusion fodder, Eva's got her 'dex out and has called up the list of known* pokemon in her world, who's names are in her native language.

"Some of them are scary, some cute, some weird, but they are all monsters. I'll tell you as much about them as I can, but otherwise, the aim is to give you material for illusions. Fighting is fighting and any advantage we have is best utilised."


(1/Eva's using the Japanese names. I'll assume your character is as well when first asking Eva about the pokemon, unless it's noted you want to teach her the English names.

I am, as you put it, "good with general technology". I can't guarantee compatibility with #7212108's systems, but the odds are very likely.

“Yes! Let’s.” She sounds mildly excited about this for some reason. “Where should we start?”

"We'll have to wait until we have access to the system to form a solid plan, but we'd probably handle the shields. I'm sure I can pilot the ships, and it's likely a big enough system that we'll both have to crack at it."

And they may need even more, but he's trying not to worry about that part yet.

Possibly hard to arrange during a battle, but it's worth a shot, isn't it?

"I'm definitely practiced with shields, though."

Which Dairine had already asked about, so Nita wasn't going to go over it again in detail unless there was some new factor to add.

Would it help if I mentioned I've gone into space without a suit before? I guess the tech depends on how similar it is to what I knew back home. But I can definitely help out with fighting.

Yeah, there was this whole mess with a ghost needing to be kicked out of the satellite he was haunting. End result, I found out that ghosts can hang out in hard vacuum no problem.

She hopes.

"That said, if we need to get into the mainframe in a hurry, we'd be down to hacking, so..."

It's something that needs to be thought about.

Dairine sits cross legged, her biteless Apple notebook resting in her lap. Her legs bounce up and down slightly in anticipation for adventure and getting out of this darn train for a bit! But her expression stays casual.

"Yes to all of the above. I can help out wherever."

"Awesome. What sort of skills do you have?"

It's said with a grin. Eva recognises the anticipation when it comes to getting out of the train. Gods know they all need out of train time and if not everyone, then her at least.

"Well, for technology I mainly do coding, but I've also worked with hardware from time to time. More than that, however, I'm a specialist in machine and computer based life-forms. I often work with them, either in problem solving or mediating between them and organic species."

"There are plenty of ways I can help in battle too. I'm a wizard, like my sister Nita. You might have seen her around. So I can do the basics like shielding or zapping enemies. But I've also dabbled a bit in healing spells before."

She scratches behind her neck. "Oh, I've also practiced jujitsu and archery? Just in case."

"I am not good with technology really." Misa adds. "That's what droid workers are for where I'm from. But," she bites her lip. "I..." She's hesitant, but decides to plow on, even though it might make people here uncomfortable. "I'm very good with anatomy. I only need to see something once, and I can memorize it." She says. "We're going to need medics?" She offers it tentatively because she doesn't know what they're getting into, but if she can stay out of the fighting for the most part, she'd appreciate it.

Eva nods and while there is a small flicker of concern in her eyes, it's pushed aside. Misa is of the age where, had she grow up on Arkea, she'd be both expected to know what to do to survive in the wilds and turned loose with her pokemon as a coming of age thing.

A kid knowing anatomy isn't that different as a child knowing how to survive a fall or how to find shelter and start a fire from sticks. "We likely will and anyone with experience as one is welcome."

Misa is a courtesan-in-training, and while she's proud of that fact, it seems to make others... uncomfortable. It doesn't bother her, but people here don't react well to it. That's fine, but she's not really sure what to do about it and how far to take her knowledge.

"I'd prefer to stay with the medics." She admits. "I don't have experience, per se, but anatomy is anatomy, and medics use that more than anything else." She shrugs.

Peter's pretty sure he could handle any of the available missions but he's joining the Orange team because he's confident his ability to adapt quickly and repair the ships. How hard could it be? He made his original webshooters, after all.

"Hey Miss Eva!" He greets as he walks into the dinning car, an a can of Monster in hand. "Hey Everyone. I thought I might join you guys, if that cool?"

The can of Monster is noted, but dismissed. She had far worse vices around his age that energy drinks are tame.

"The more the merrier and I'm gonna guess you can do something with tech?"

She's listened to him enough to have some idea of the sharp underneath teenage boy.

"Yeah, I'm actually really good with tech-I mean, I'm no Tony Stark but he has let me help him with stuff in his lab-and you know how he is-that's not something he'd let just anyone help with." He rattles off quickly as though he's under interrogation.

"But uh yeah.. I thought I could be more useful here this time."

Curufin is sitting in the dining car with a cup of coffee and his notebook. He listens attentively to Eva's question and then speaks up.

"I'm not a specialist in space technology, but I taught myself electrical and mechanical engineering in the last two worlds I lived in before I came to the VoidTrecker Express. I built the generator for an airship and helped build the engine, and I also helped pilot it. I could probably assist with some of the repairs, if the technical people need help. And as for your second question, I'm a warrior of an ancient world, but I have experience with modern weapons."


Pokedex

Curufin listens with great interest as Eva calls the pokemon names. "I'd be most interested in the ones that look most monsterous, though you say they all are? The most frightening ones would be best for a frightening illusion."

This is OTA, so if any other Orange Team members or anybody else wants to talk to Curufin, now's a good time.

"Right..." There's a bit of a flick through before she pulls up gyarados, the holographic sea serpent writhing and twisting before it dives and swims the air. "I grew up in Masara; it's a coastal town and seeing even one gyarados on the horizon was the town's worst nightmare."

"Perfect! I'll stow that away in my memory! That must have been horrifying, to see one of those things approaching Masara. What did you do, if that happened?"
