Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage

They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.

Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.

Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.

If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.

The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.

They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.

It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

That's all it took to bring back the sun in Prompto's smile. His heart and soul belonged to these two men and the one that was most likely in the kitchen. There might be slightly different kinds of love going on here, but all of it was genuine and made them a family.

"Uh.." That question threw him off and he gave Gladio a sheepish smile. "No.. we, uh.. well once he seemed on board and I knew you were on board and um.." He hesitated and could feel his cheeks heating up. Was he about to get kicked out of bed? He hoped not. His grip tightened a little around Noct, but he was doing his best not to wake him. "We.. um, well, I uh.. I kissed him- but I thought it was okay because of what we'd said and he seemed happy with the idea and you seemed happy about it and since we were maybe doing something like that it seemed okay but if it wasn't I'm really really really sorry and it won't ever happen again!"

Gladio blinked. He was quiet. Expressionless. He wanted to let Prompto sweat a little...

Because he was trying very hard not to laugh.

"... You kissed Noct?" He finally asked, very proud of himself for how calm and serious he sounded. "And you're just now letting me know?" Gladio knew he couldn't keep it up for long. The last thing he wanted was for Prompto to panic and run or feel too bad for going off and kissing another guy. Just a little bad.

"And you haven't even given me a kiss yet? Obviously I'm furious." He was failing, he was grinning now, there was no way he could keep up that serious expression. "It's fine, love. I'd suspected... You've nothing to worry about."

In those few moments, he got to watch Prompto's eyes slowly double in size as his jaw hung open. The soft 'uhh' sound could be heard a few seconds before he could find words.

Oh. Oh. Oh shit. Shit shit shit. What did he do now? Come on, think of something, Prompto!

"I.. uh.. um.. but I uh.." Yeah, nothing was coming out! In between his ears all Prompto could see was the Blue Screen of Death. He cheeks went dark red.

He blinked with a little confusion over the next question. Gladio was upset he hadn't been given a kiss yet? How had Prompto failed to do that?! He was the worst boyfriend ever! "B- but I would've!" That wasn't helping things.

Suddenly Gladio was grinning at him and it took him a beat to realize it had been a tease. He laughed and leaned over Noct to give his boyfriend a kiss. "So.. you're really okay? You're not mad?"

It was cute. Prompto blushing was so adorable, and once he realised that Gladio was teasing, the blonde was quick to give him that kiss.

He moved an arm to wrap around his love and hold him close so he could kiss him a second time before he answered. "I'm not mad, Prom. You told me, so I'm not mad. If you'd hidden it from me... yeah, I'd have been mad as hell. But how can I be mad about something you'd already warned me about?"

Gladio grinned. "And besides, he's cute. Why wouldn't you want to kiss him?"

His expression broke into a relieved, bright smile. He loved that they could still do that. Being together hadn't changed the way Gladio messed with him and teased him. Was it silly that was just another reason Prompto was so smitten? Nah, it was the truth so who cared?

He wanted to keep that kiss going but Noct was in the way. It worked out as he was further reassured everything was okay. "I wouldn't.. I'd never do that. I thought we'd been on the same page, but I guess I should've checked before doing that once I found out he was okay with it." He giggled and looked down at Noct. "He is, isn't he?"

Although he was suddenly really tempted to tickle him. That would be wrong. He should definitely not do that. He- okay he was tickling him now.

Noct's brow furrowed before he started squirming. He woke up, making a sound between a laugh and a whine. "Prompto! Noooo!" He was soon out of breath. "Please!"

"Dammit, Prom!" Gladio went ahead and bopped the blonde upside the head. "Why'd you go and wake up up, and stop, both of you!" ... It was NOT a good idea for the both of them to be wriggling about and squirming between his damn legs and on his small bunk! If they broke it... he didn't know what happened if you broke a bed. But how they'd explain how it got broke was a whole thing he wasn't prepared to deal with.

"But- ow!- I can't wait to talk to you!" He protested back. He did stop tickling Noct though.

He looked at Gladio with an exaggerated 'kicked puppy' look. "Gladio said you two talked! How are you two not more excited?! I can't believe it! I get to kiss BOTH of you!" And so he did because he could- on the nose, because why not?

Noct blinked, mostly because Prompto was talking too fast for his sleepy brain. His cheeks were red as he looked from Prompto to Gladio.

"What did I miss? How long was I out?" It didn't feel like long enough to him.

"Not long... less than an hour before our puppy here decided to wake you up..." Forgiveness would take more than noses kisses, Prompto! Pouting and puppy dog eyes never worked on Gladip either. So he was very much unmoved by his pleas.

"Prompto, relax." Gladio curled an arm around the blonde and bodily moved him up a bit more so that he could hold him properly. "You're confusing Noct. Take a breath, love." He smiled and leaned in to kiss the blonde cheek. "I get you're excited, but there's no rush."

Rats! He was going to have to try harder. If Noct wasn't in the way, he could try something he knew Gladio liked- but he would never want Noct to be moved either. He snuggled tighter to Noct's side.

"It's not my fault that mission was scary!" He whined. Although he turned his face to receive that lovely kiss to his cheek. It brought back his smile despite the topic. "I'm sorry you got hurt, Buddy. Do you need some ice?"

Noct sighed softly. "I didn't even get hurt on the mission, it was when the train was leaving." Truly the lamest way to get hurt. He did smile gently at the interactions between Gladio and Prompto. "Um...I don't think I need more ice right now...?"

"There's a puddle on the floor..." Gladio pointed out. That had been ice... but that was a while ago, so it probably wasn't ice any longer.

Then he just settled back into the pillows behind him and let the other two talk it out. He brought his arms up to pillow behind his head and closed his eyes, smiling and listening to their voices.

Prompto tried not to laugh, but it was funny! Poor Noct had the worst luck! He snickered. "We have to come up with a way better story than that!"

He glanced down off the bed. "Oh, is that what I stepped in?" He was actually relieved about that. He left that thought line alone. "Where did you get hurt?"

"In the luggage carriage, when the train sped off." He motioned to his knee. "Just the knee that always gives me some trouble." He took a look at Gladio, who looked content and comfy. It made him smile that the big guy was so relaxed. "I'll be okay in a few days."

He frowned sympathetically down at Noct's knee. That thing was always being a pain. "Did someone fall on you? I fell on Peter- well right in front of him. He sort of saved himself last minute- but whatever. We can say you were gallantly saving one of the kids from being squished by one of the really big guys like uh.. what's that guy with all the hair? Or the one that looks like half alien guy half goat- or deer- or something. I hear Buttercup doesn't talk much, so we can say it was her."

"Oi, that's one of my roommates you're talking about there." Gladio mumbled, very much half dozing and only vaguely paying attention to the voices. But he liked it. He'd always loved listening to people, he loved listening to Prompto babble away about everything and nothing. And with Noct in the mix, it was such a wonderful and nostalgic sound. He almost wished Ignis was there with them to join in on the chatter. Though he did worry if they added a fourth to the bunk it wouldn't survive and would definitely break... And that would be unfortunate.

"No, my knee just twisted." Noct said. "I don't want to blame anyone else for my inability to brace myself." It wasn't fair to anyone, especially someone who didn't talk much. "I'll be okay. More importantly, will I get penalized for having to be off my feet for a few days?" Not that he's been doing chores anyway, which was probably for the better.

"I'm not insulting him! Just.. you know, trying to describe him in case Noct hasn't seen him yet." He draws closer to Noct and whispers (which Gladio can no doubt still hear), "He's kind of scary looking."

Although then the king was ruining his fun about making up some crazy story of how he got hurt. "Well give yourself a break. It was a really sudden jolt. I had to help take Renee to the medical room. She hit her head pretty hard." He glanced to Gladio. "That was before I came back and found Madoka upset."

Gladio grunted softly, not buying it at all. And definitely able to hear Prompto.

But then he said something that had him taking notice and his eyes opened and he found himself sitting up a bit more, arms dropping from behind his head. "Renee? Is she alright?" There was clear concern in his voice. "... I should go check on her."

Noct nodded. His shield seemed really worried about this Renee. "Yeah, of course, Gladio. If you need to go..." He shifted so Gladio could move. "It's okay if I stay here, right?"

Gladio looked at Noct and frowned when he started to move out of the way... He didn't like it. He reached out and wrapped his arm around Noct and pulled him in close, holding him to his chest. "No... I'll check on her later." And maybe he'll bring her something to eat as well, much as she'd done to him. "I just got you both here. I'm not gonna leave you now."

Prompto's grip on Noct tightened just a little when he was moving to let Gladio out. Of course, then the other man didn't take the offer. Instead, Noct was dragged closer, which made Prompto follow. This created a more squished Noct sandwich. The blonde was happy with that, though they were completely crowding the king.

"Cal has been in there watching over her. I didn't know they were together but he sure seemed like it," Prompto explained, tossing in some gossip because- well, what else was there to do around here but be in everyone's business.

Noct relaxed again, enjoying being in between the two men. "I'm glad she's not alone." He didn't even know who she was, but no one should be alone when they're hurting.

Under the pressure, his body was telling him to rest. He nuzzled his nose against Gladio's chest. "Okay, if you're going to stay, I'm going to cuddle."

"I didn't think she would be..." Gladio would leave her be. He'd wait until later and go and visit her, he didn't want to disturb anyone elses time.

Besides, why would he want to leave when he had two beautiful men in his bed? Somehow he'd ended up by the wall, he'd turned himself on his side to take up as little room as he could so that the others could be comfortable as well. Gladio stretched his arm across, curling around Prompto as best he could, so his love wouldn't do something silly like roll off and hurt himself.

"That's fine." Gladio chuckled, and smiled down at Noct. All he could see was the top of his dark head and face pressed to his chest. He glanced at Prompto, just to make sure he was alright with this. This was what the blonde had wanted, right? He didn't ask the question, didn't want to ruin the calm mood between them. He just smiled.
