Oops
Who: Conan and anyone
What: Apotoxin Time. Goodbye Secret Identity (Probably).
Where: Various
When: Egret 25,26
Cabin 2B, Evening of Egret 25
Sarai had healed all of Conan's injuries, but he'd still lost a lot of blood for someone of his size. As a result, by the time he'd been fed and helped back to his cabin, he wasn't in much of a mood to leave again. He stays awake long enough to talk to any visitors, but ends up falling asleep fairly early.
Hallway, Early Morning Egret 26
The first attack wakes him up out of a rare sound sleep. He chokes back a cry of pain as he clutches at the all too familiar pain in his chest. His heart... But how? Peter had been working on it, but he hadn't tried any new cures recently. He hadn't eaten anything unusual.
A second shock of pain to his heart, and first shiver of a fever drives him out of bed. He could not change here, where his roommates could see. He has the presence of mind to grab a blanket, and then he is staggering down the hallway past the sleeping cars, trying to calculate which part of the train would be the closest and most likely to be unoccupied now.

Finally, he speaks:
“We thought you were going to die, Shinichi—or whatever your name is. The least you could have done is say something.”

Situations like this had been featured in quite a few nightmares lately. At this point it is mostly stubbornness and the determination to stay in control if his reactions that were keeping him going.
He takes the plate of food from Glorfindel, but twitches faintly at the comment. "I said it wasn't a curse." Although he couldn't really argue about the bad decisions. "And no, this is the first time in months that I've changed. Until just now I dodn't even think it was possible here."
Dairine gets a glare of annoyance. He knows this isn't safe. But it would be even less safe to tell everyone here nothing and let them go looking for answers on their own. The best he could do was be honest about what everyone had just seen or could find on the roster, and avoid certain other topics.
He slumps a little at Trowa's response. "...Thank you. I don't think anyone needs to see this again."
"What could I have said? That there's a slight chance that I could gain ten years? Changing back like this shouldn't even have been possible here!"

Interesting that he thought this couldn't happen here, given he had changed multiple times in Paradisa before the antidote mistake. Something to bring up later, perhaps.
"You could have said it was an old medical concern and that you were going to get it looked at?" she says pointedly. "I dunno about everyone else here, but I'm less concerned about you not bringing up your secret growth spurts than how you tried to deal with it alone. Pretending you were OK when you were clearly suffering, you could have said something then!"
Even Dairine had been worried there, and she at least had known what was going on. Also he had left her to do the explaining when it was not her story to tell.

"Not necessarily for when you arrived, but just in case this happened. I thought you more prudent than to assume that it couldn't happen just because it was unlikely. But you trying to go through this alone, that is hard to forgive."
He also handed the young man a dampened washcloth, in case he wanted to wipe his face and hands. He had to be fairly uncomfortable after the fever and the steam/sweat.
