Egret, Late Day 25, Early Day 26 | Healing Car | Open
Glorfindel walked into the Healing Car and pulled out a chair. He'd brought some Athelas with him from the Greenhouse car, in case anyone needed it.
He does have training as a healer, but he's also there to cheer people up, chat about whatever, and generally glow about the place, as his aura will boost any natural or magical healing abilities.
[Feel free to call him over or engage in conversation, if you are one of the many people who needs a little patching up.]

She realized she was in the infirmary, or what passed for it on the train and stopped. She'd been here before. Once. It was empty then. Wasn't now. She looked around for whoever was in charge. If she couldn't go help those other people, maybe she could at least help here? Maybe? Finding him, she headed over, fighting a yawn. Only the presence of a large silver walking stick was keeping her from swaying from exhaustion as she walked.
"Can I be of some help here?" she asked with a big sniff, unaware that she was still crying.

He smiled at her and handed her a flower, the scent might help soothe her. "Absolutely. Would you mind going to the kitchen and bringing back some broth or porridge? There should be some in the cold...the refrigerator. Don't worry about heating it though. Some bread would also be nice."
"That's a nice walking stick you have. Is it like your old one?"
no subject
She nodded. "I can do that. Um... which way is it to the kitchen?" she asked. But to the second question she shook her head. "No, this one doesn't yell at me. And I don't know if it is going to vanish like the last time they gave us clothes."
no subject
"You might want to ask one of the people who have been on the train longer than I about your stick, though. It may be that the clothing is an illusion, so the train turns it off after a while, but as that stick is a Real Object, it won't disappear?"
"The kitchen is three cars that way," he pointed. "Go through the gym, the seating car, and the quiet car, and it is right there."
no subject
"Okay, I will be back soon with" yawn. "Food for those who need it." She turned and headed the way he pointed. It won't last. She will get lost....
no subject
"Wait up, Najaran, I will come with you," he said, catching up to her.

Glorfindel offered her his arm, as a gentleman does. "You looked like you might appreciate a little company."

"But, we could forgo that, and just discuss the day you are having. If you wanted to talk about it?" he offered. He held open the door between carriages for her. He had his own feelings about the recent mission, but had the chance to speak to a friend, which had helped him come to grips with them.

She didn't want to answer the other, but found herself speaking anyway, voice haunted as the tears started again. "We could have saved them... or we could have at least tried...."
no subject
"Mm," Glorfindel acknowledged what she said. "Yes, we could have tried. Though...having fought against something that resembled what approached, more than once...we might have died. The Train felt we could not hold our own against it and made the choice to pull us. Or perhaps it just got scared and ran, and chose not to abandon us." He knew where she was coming from. The fact that all those others were still back there...maybe...

Glorfindel gave her a lingering hug before moving to the refrigerators and pulling out food. "When was the last time you ate something?"
no subject
She looked up sharply. "Do you think maybe we're circling around to come at the attackers from behind?" It was a thin thread of hope, but it was the first she'd had.
no subject
He considered it. "Perhaps, but I suspect not. When we left, the Train was very frightened. But someday, we will have the strength we need and we will find a way to convince the Train to let us rid the universe of this threat so no more are harmed."
"It...is remotely possible that this thing was after the Train specifically, and by leaving we drew it away from the people of that world."
no subject
Could the train be like a child....? She had to consider that one more. She yawned. Later. She'd have to consider it more later...
no subject
"Have you had enough to eat?" he asked. "I could help you back to your cabin, if you'd like."

She yawned again and gestured to him, "He has too much food and needs help eating it," she told them sleepily.
"Somehiw I doubt that if you're here," the cat creatures said with an exhausted laugh. "But we'll help if we can, merow."
no subject
He made sure she had food first, refilling her bowl as she emptied it, between serving the others. If she was exhausted and hungry, it made sense to him that they would be also.

Naja set the flower down gently beside the bowl and started eating happily once she saw the others were eating.

The joys of figuring out how a creature speaks when he has like... 4 lines.
I'd buy it :)
Good, I could use the money :: teasing::
*Gives 2 cents*
Talk about putting your two cents in.
Isn't it nice that inflation hasn't affected that?
