This is an OPEN LOG for anyone to join. Make toplevels to your heart's content and tag around to each other freely. Whether your character is offering to teach or wanders in looking for someone to get them involved (or just to watch), this is a post for you! You may use this for any sort of open or even private threads if you so wish.

This log is for anyone who wants to participate in exercising, training, sparring, and teaching lessons. Some of the "classes" also involve things like yoga, meditation, and easier self defense mechanisms for anyone to learn. Magic users are also extremely encouraged to use the practice dummies and other facilities as well! After all, they also need to practice and also get used to having physical fighters near them as they spellcast. And vice versa. Plus, some people use both abilities in battle!

Basically, if you want to learn new skills that could be useful on missions, come take a peek!

For a basic set-up consider this: a majority of this takes place in the gym; it's regulars have set it up with target dummies and various practice armaments. Armaments currently consist of things like wooden practice swords, poles, and bows and arrows. A few real weapons can be borrowed from either 47 (or perhaps others willing to share) or created by Piccolo upon request. (If you have any weapons or items to add to the practice sessions, please drop a line in the ooc post!) Of course characters can always bring and use their own items these are just for general use for anyone without armaments already. No one is regulating anything like that.

Various characters will be around to help answer questions icly if you like (I have 47 on offer for starters) and if you have any ooc questions or comments drop a line over here! An ic announcement was also made by 47 if your character needs an impetus for heading towards the gym. c:

That was the way he would do it so he didn't particularly seem to mind the bluntness. Sometimes it was just more expeditionary to ~~read someone's mind than listen to them explain an entire plotline~~ do it that way.

"Yeah, you could say that," Piccolo replied as he looked down at her. He waited for her request as he wondered what she would ask for. He certainly wasn't going to say no to Ple Two at this point.

"What level of mechanical complexity can you manage? And what kinds of materials?" Anything custom-made for her would do, of course, and he likely couldn't just snap his fingers and summon her a mobile suit, but she needed details.

A mobile suit was sadly and most definitely out of his range of magical capacity. She would need a grant-wishing dragon for that one and Piccolo was fresh out of Dragon Balls. And he wasn't planning on splitting into two people any time soon so making those was out of the question, too.

However, he wasn't certain what his exact limitations were either. It never occurred to him to test his magical abilities. "Good questions. Material shouldn't matter as long as I know what it is. As for complexity... I don't know. I'd have to try and see what happens."

It wouldn't fit on the train anyways - not without its own specialized car, and even then only the more compact designs would likely work. Thus, she continued to be small and hope for a gun.

"Firearms? Or should we start with a crossbow?" And materials - well, she wasn't sure if Gundarium was actually appropriate for a sword.

Piccolo considered her request. He had never tried to create either of those things, but then he had never really had a reason to try either. He wasn't certain if either would be too complex or not. His magic wasn't his strong suit but it did come naturally to him. Only one way to find out.

"I'll give it a try," he told her. At least he knew what those weapons looked like.

A flash of light later and Piccolo held part of a gun in his hand. Unfortunately, there was definitely something wrong with it. It had the right shape of a gun but it was obvious to anyone familiar with one that something was not quite right. Piccolo had to fiddle with it for a moment to figure out what was wrong. Ple Two probably guessed it before he even figured it out. The mechanisms inside were missing. So basically all Piccolo held in his hand was a piece of metal that held the shape of a gun. The trigger wiggled too freely because the pieces it connected to were gone and the slide would never have operated because it wasn't actually separate.

It occurred to Piccolo rather belatedly that he wasn't completely familiar with the inner workings of a gun and how it worked. Therefore it made sense that his attempt to recreate one would fail miserably with that lack of knowledge. He should have realized that before this embarrassing moment.

"Well, that's..." Useless, but he didn't bother to finish the sentence. Awkward would also have sufficed. He sighed, and it came out sounding rather like a deflated growl.

Ple Two watched, impressed as he... well, tried to make a gun.

And covered her mouth against a small laugh at the frustration. How could she help it? Big tough green man acting awkward and embarrassed was not quite the highlight of her day but it was amusing.

"...I will take a... short sword, then," she settled on. It'd just mean more practice.

Her laughter caused him to be even more embarrassed and his ears turned purple as his face tightened from the embarrassment. He huffed lightly and looked away for a moment. He gained control over his expression before turning back to her.

"Maybe if I knew more about the weapon I could replicate it piece by piece."

That was an endeavor for another day though. A short sword was much easier to create. Martial weapons were simple and he knew them well even if he didn't use one himself. He could easily create one.

So another flash of light occurred and then Piccolo held a short sword perfectly suited for her in his hand. It was simply adorned and the hilt and sheath were brightly colored to match Ple Two's current outfit. He held it out for her.

And Ple Two got her giggling under control at the blushing. What an endearing alien. "Perhaps someday." Not as though Ple two knew the structure of firearms all that well; only enough to use and maintain it.

Swords are much simpler. A few large pieces, jammed together - in an incredible flash of light, she had one suited for her size, and took it in hand, holding it out to the side. "...thank you, Piccolo. It seems... perfect."

That compliment got him to straighten a bit in pride. "I've had more practice with swords in the past," he replied. As if one sword was a lot of practice or something. But it was simple and he understood it well enough.

"I'll try to piece together a crossbow for you later," he said. "It should be more simple. I'll...ask around about it." To see if anyone could tell him a little about how they worked. He was pretty sure the spring and wire were the most important parts but he just had to figure out how to put it together with a trigger.

Swords are easy, and that's cool. It's cool! And she got him to feel a little better about himself. Nice.

"I'm sure someone here could work out the principle. Just ask Tony Stark to sketch one up if you have to, he seems to just solve mechanical problems at will." Or do they need to trap him in a cave first?

"Hmph."

What an amusing way to describe that specialty. Piccolo knew the name vaguely--it was one heard often on the ICPs if he remembered correctly--but hadn't met the man officially.

"I'll keep that in mind. If he knows how to design one then that could do it."
