Fight Club Open Log! (Catch-All For the Month of Fiddlesticks)

This is an OPEN LOG for anyone to join. Make toplevels to your heart's content and tag around to each other freely. Whether your character is offering to teach or wanders in looking for someone to get them involved (or just to watch), this is a post for you! You may use this for any sort of open or even private threads if you so wish.

This log is for anyone who wants to participate in exercising, training, sparring, and teaching lessons. Some of the "classes" also involve things like yoga, meditation, and easier self defense mechanisms for anyone to learn. Magic users are also extremely encouraged to use the practice dummies and other facilities as well! After all, they also need to practice and also get used to having physical fighters near them as they spellcast. And vice versa. Plus, some people use both abilities in battle!

Basically, if you want to learn new skills that could be useful on missions, come take a peek!

For a basic set-up consider this: a majority of this takes place in the gym; it's regulars have set it up with target dummies and various practice armaments. Armaments currently consist of things like wooden practice swords, poles, and bows and arrows. A few real weapons can be borrowed from either 47 (or perhaps others willing to share) or created by Piccolo upon request. (If you have any weapons or items to add to the practice sessions, please drop a line in the ooc post!) Of course characters can always bring and use their own items these are just for general use for anyone without armaments already. No one is regulating anything like that.

Various characters will be around to help answer questions icly if you like (I have 47 on offer for starters) and if you have any ooc questions or comments drop a line over here! An ic announcement was also made by 47 if your character needs an impetus for heading towards the gym. c:

And remember: you do you and have fun!!!

The moment Piccolo moved, so did he -- not nearly as fast, but in a blazing charge that led with his shoulder, before whirling around into a high kick that took him out of the path of those punches in the same motion. Whatever Dread's appearance, he moved far faster and far more gracefully than anyone would expect.

Piccolo had just enough time to throw one of the punches into a block instead and caught the kick in the arm. It stung just enough to get Piccolo excited. He backed away from the hit only to move forward again immediately and press another attack on Dread while he caught his balance. In theory at least.

Surprise -- Dread's next attack came just as Piccolo stepped back in, and came in the form of a forward flip that both caught the Namekian's punch on his shoulder blade, of all things, and brought one leg whirling up and over in him in a brutal axe kick. The momentum carried him into a ducking spin that blurred seamlessly into a follow-up as first one leg, than the other, spun through matching arcs at his opponent.

Piccolo hadn't had a fight as technical as this one in...well, before the train that was certain. It had been a while. The Namekian blocked the axe kick with his arms. The follow up spin attacks the green warrior decided to avoid altogether as he regathered his footing and leapt back out of range. As he did so he stretched out a hand and let loose a small ki blast towards Dread. A small glowing orb headed towards Dread. It wasn't too strong, Piccolo was still working up and testing just how much energy he could use in their fights.

As Piccolo stepped back, Dread let his spin carry his legs up as he curled up onto his back, then with a kick used his momentum to bring him up onto his feet. He really was remarkably technical and fluid in his approach...

But standing up just brought him straight into the ki bullet. It thudded into him hard, but he took it without much trouble even as he stepped forward to ram both hands forwards to strike with the heels of his hands. The kind of battles he was used to were endurance matches, in which opponents fought not with single decisive blows, but through sustained efforts to gain dominance over the other.

As far as Piccolo was concerned he found it delightful good that Dread could withstand a direct ki blast. He would continue to be cautious but slowly build up the strength of them to test out what his opponent could handle. If this were a battle with one of the Saiyans he wouldn't have bothered with caution but--well, this wasn't home and while he might consider the people here friendly he didn't know whether 'friends' was the right word yet.

Piccolo saw the attack coming and did obvious reaction: he met Dread's attacks with his own two hands, blocking and engaging in a test of strength with the other. The initial hit had him skidding backwards slightly but he quickly locked in place and pushed back on Dread's palms with his own.

Well. This was an interesting turn of events -- rarely did anyone attempt to counter him like this! Nor was it a particularly good turn of events; his style focused far more on graceful flowing movements than brute-force clashes. He could probably maintain it, but he'd be very much playing to a weakness by doing so.

Not a wise choice.

Instead, he abruptly stopped fighting back, hoping that the sudden lack of resistance would bring Piccolo off-balance just enough to amplify the effect of the snap kick he launched at his opponent's waist.
