it's time
who: kaiba, yugi, and open to one and all
what: DUEL. State of the art card games like you've never seen before. Afterward, lessons and deck-building!
when: Egret 1, evening
where: gym car
warnings: None at this time
Welcome to the gym car. It's a large,if narrow space, and Kaiba and Noctis have hauled an ordinary card table and chairs inside. Not exactly the formula for an exciting spectator sport. But Yugi has entered the gym from the other side, all smiles, with something under his arm.
Something is about to roar to life here. And you'll be the first to witness it.

"Everyone is different and we change all the time, so of course a deck will as well. So what style were you thinking of? You mentioned Kaiba thought Earth monsters, but I assume you had another idea before that."

"I like the Earth style, but I guess you'd say mine's more... analytical? I like digging into what makes a system work, and piecing it apart that way."
Often in the course of putting it back together into something improved, straightened or otherwise fixed, but in a duel that second part was less important.

Snorting, she showed it to Yugi, commenting, "I may be a visionary, but this seems a bit on-the-nose, don't you think?"

This is what happens when I use the 'random' feature... XD
"Knowing your own side is important, yeah. But that won't make you infallible or anything."
Nita went through, letting her hand land on another Spell card.
"Oh, come on!" she said, but she was grinning.
"This would restrict one of the other player's monsters, am I reading that right?"

"That would fit in with my style, then. Though my sister would call that style more 'reckless' than anything," she added wryly.
"But then, she'd know."
It sure was Dairine's strategy, in some ways.

"It means sorting out a deck for you will actually be quite easy to do today"

Nita was relieved to hear that.
"What else would you recommend, then?"

"I'll try and start pulling those on purpose next, then. Can't make my whole deck Spell Cards, though, I'll bet."

Assume it's the original edition, in this case:
Nita flipped through a few more cards, at times shaking her head or staring curiously at the descriptive text, before pulling up one last card, baffled.
"And what does this mean? Sounds like it limits both sides."

So basically it's only good for a certain style of deck at best.

She could see the usefulness, there.
"Something for special occasions. Is it one you've used?"
no subject
"It's not a card I've ever used myself because I don't have the type of deck it's useful for." Plus having a zombie type deck would have just creeped his friend out in general.

"That was clever of you, by the way; getting him his own disc for the demonstration as well as your own. Completing the set with the cards, in a way."

He smiled slightly, he was rather happy when he finally managed to present that to him, happier than he had honestly expected. "I just figured that it would be a nice gesture."
Hmm - close to thread wrap here, if that's alright?
"It definitely delivered, I'll tell you that! I couldn't really see the look on his face, but he reacted for sure, I could tell that much."
