Who: Najaran and Glorfindel and Minako and Webmind and OPEN (See headers)
What: A very... Najaran... way of trying to communicate with the train.
Where: Starting at luggage, going as close to the engines as they can get. And since she isn't alone, she won't be lost this time. Also, there might be signs!
When: Forward dated to Saturday the 19th

Najaran was still upset about how they had been pulled back the mission before last. And didn't want to wear the device that could do that to her again. But Duo had gotten so angry at her... And she realized that she had to make peace with the train. And she knew how to do that....

Or so she thought.

After all, when someone wanted to make peace it was best to do that with a feast, right? And they had tons of crab and other seafood now... And she was dying to try to figure out how to make crab cakes...

Cooking - locked to V and Glorfindel

Najaran was back and forth between the kitchen and the Garden car where her Cards were looking after the small fire she had there for cooking. She had set up a device over the fire to give her a hot surface like a flat top grill. Because someone still didn't know how to use the way past modern appliances in the kitchen. She was doing her cutting and prepping in the kitchen, then dashing back - and getting lost often - to cook the small patties of fish and flour and onions on the metal cook top.

She was making a... truly impressive number of little crab fritter looking things.

Glorfindel walked into the kitchen carrying a small roll of tape. He sets it down when he sees her and walks over to where she is cutting and prepping food.

"What...exactly are you doing?" he asked.

"Making offerings," she said with a bright smile. "Don't worry, Knight and the others are watching the fire, and they have water on hand if it is needed."

"Offerings for what?" he asked as he walked over to the sink and started washing his hands.

"For the train, or if it isn't able to think for itself, for whoever is controlling it!"

Glorfindel thought about this for a moment. "That...is as good a theory as any. We'll give it a try and see if it works."

He dried off his hands and came over to her counter. "How can I help, my friend?"

"Well, I have to carry all the batter bowls once they're mixed to the garden car so I can cook them," she said, considering. So I could use help carrying. And once they're done, if you're wiling, I'd love help carrying the offerings from car to car, since it might be a bit much for me alone and Knight is too big to help with this."

She had loaded them all up with as many little wrapped food gifts as they could carry. She shoved one of the burnt ones that hadn't been good enough to include in her mouth.

"Alright," she said as she chewed. "I want to start on one end of the train and move to the other...." Once they pointed her the right way she headed for the luggage car. She took a deep breath and faced the rest of the train, then lifted one of the offerings high.

"Train or if the Train is controlled or spoken for by someone... We offer this food in peace so that we might talk and feast together! Please! Speak with us!"

Undeterred when there was no response after a long moment of waiting, she set the offering down, bowed deeply, then carefully stepped over it. On to the next car! She didn't know that soon Web Mind would be joining them to help them carry, and perhaps for reasons of his own....

Glorfindel sighed and pointed her in the correct direction, then indicated the sign near the door they were going through.

It said, "Luggage Car --> [among other things]

"I, uhm, that's what I was doing this morning before I found you. There are now signs in every car, telling you which way to go to get to which car. Even if you start in the wrong direction, if you have time to stop and read, it will keep you from going too far before realizing."

She made a happy little noise and stopped to hug him. She didn't have much experience with hugs, but she was learning again. "That's great! Now even I can't get lost!"

Glorfindel happily returned the hug. "I've seen you when you are really tired," he said, teasing her gently. " I have the utmost confidence you could still manage!" He laughed, but inclusively, not meanly.

Webmind had noticed the signs with bemusement, but let them pass without comment.

The food brigade, however, would not pass without comment.

"Is there something I can help you with?" he asked, voice calm as always.

And, "That is a lot of food you are carrying, even for the three of you."

"Sure! You can help carry!" she said, cheerfully. She was meeting all sorts of interesting people that looked like cards on this train. If not for a few key aspects, she'd be having a great time here.

Webmind nodded, moving forward to start taking his share of crabcakes to carry.

"Is there anything else involved with being part of this entourage?"

There would have been a pause before that last word, but that seemed a little too on the edge of rude to him.

Webmind managed to sound genuinely surprised without changing his expression.

"I cannot say I have seen anyone do precisely that before..."

Maybe that meant it was worth trying. Covering all their bases, if nothing else.

"Though I have also not been on this train very long, either."

Every car starting from luggage heading to the front the train. At the entrance between cars, in every car, she would stop before the furthest most door. Najaran would take one of the offerings and would hold it high about her head.

"Train or if the Train is controlled or spoken for by someone... We offer this food in peace so that we might talk and feast together! Please! Speak with us!"

Undeterred when there was no response after a long moment of waiting, she set the offering down, bowed deeply, then carefully stepped over it. On to the next car!

She would keep doing this in every car, trailed by her new friends, hoping... hoping that the train ior whoever controlled it... would respond....

Seeing the crab cake being set down in the garden, Trowa swiftly tried to catch Amira. He failed, and she darted forward to start eating it, making adorable little noises as she chewed. "Amira, that isn't for you." He'd just rounded her up out of the greenhouse, and was preparing to go to the kitchen to feed her, but now there wasn't going to be a need.

Najaran glanced back to where they had just set down the offering and saw the kitten. "Oh! How cute!" she said, kneeling. "Hello," she said to the cat. She appreciated people of any sort who had an appetite like hers.

Amira didn't even look up, with her face buried into the crabcake. Trowa shook his head and crouched down as well. "I'm sorry, Najaran. I know you didn't leave this here for her, based on what I heard you saying. She was just running around in the greenhouse and I was getting ready to take her to the kitchen to feed her."

"I don't mind, really. That one clearly didn't work, and yummy food is meant to be enjoyed! I'm glad she found it."

Trowa sighed happily as Amira stopped once she'd eaten about half of the cake. She stepped back and started to use her paws to wash her face. "She's been very happy with all the clam we brought back from the mission."
